We came here for lunch before our movie since we were craving Mediterranean food. The lot was closed when we got here so we had to do street parking. When we walked in they weren't busy so we were good to order. I asked the cashier which dish would be better .. the filet mignon or ground sirloin. She said most people pick the filet mignon so I order that with side of fries. I really enjoy my dish, the fries were seasoned nicely and the filet mignon was amazing. read more

Absolutely LOVE this place. Tonight was our third visit (twice in a week) and every time the food has been excellent, everything fresh with great presentation. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating, the space is nice and open and clean with indoor and outdoor seating. They also have a dessert case (which are also excellent). So far we have tried the raw kale & brussel salad with salmon, chicken shawarma plate, falafel wrap, falafel plate, boston cream pie, and fruit tart. It's now our go-to restaurant! read more

This was a fun find. They had bit of everything here. The ambience was relaxing. A cross between a bar, restaurant and cafe/bakery. There was plenty of tables to choose from. We tried a bit of everything. The salad was tasty and toss in chicken to make it hearty. Then the kabob plate was quiet a bit of food, meat, grilled veggies, pita, hummus with 2 sides - sweet potato fries and sautéed mushrooms. They did a great job with the latte too. Their ingredients were fresh. I appreciate that about a restaurant. Service: The counter help was very friendly and easy to chat with. It makes it welcoming and warm. Sotta was amazing. I had the bbq chicken wrap and it was out of this world, bursting with flavor! I had a health and fitness salad as a side. The ambiance is nice. The owner's of the place need to realize Disney (across the street) only pays most of their workers a little above minimum wage and 17 for a wrap after taxes is astronomically high. They could cater to the lunch crowd more and get more business with more affordable prices during these challenging times. read more

It's been a few months since I first discovered this wonderful spot. I've been here about a dozen times since then. I usually order kabob and some side dishes including the mixed green salad, lentil soup, tzatziki as my go-to choices. Absolutely love them all! I love the coffee here. Very disappointed with our order today and more outraged with the customer service of the lady who answered the phone. We ordered $70+ worth of lunch and one of us decided to try the endive salad with white meat chicken. After pickup we realized the salad had no traces of endive or arugula and called the store to tell them as FYI. Not only the lady was rude but insulted our intelligence by saying "there's a pinch of endive in your salad. Many people say there's no endive but there's a pinch"... Well pinch is referred to salt and not to greens!!!! And if others have complained, then revise your menu. Lady all you needed to say, was sorry and we'll make it right in your next order. That's all! In this tough and challenging times, customers are trying to support local eateries and businesses need to exceed all expectations. There is curb-side pick up, and they have a parking lot as well as loading zone in the front. I had already paid online so all I had to do was pick it up, quick and easy, no need to swipe or anything else. I ordered their dark meat chicken plate which is filling. I ordered with a side of tzatziki sauce and I was expecting a small salad dressing container, but it was a large container that could have easily been shared with 3 other people. Everything about Sotta is excellent. I celebrated my birthday lunch their with my family. Everyone fully enjoyed their different choices of salmon and chicken dishes and my Thai salad. We walked in and automatically got a warm welcoming from everyone at the counter. Everything from the ambiance, the taste of food, customer service... A1!!! My table ordered the thai noodle salad, thai chicken wrap and the chicken kabob with some of their delicious sides. Updated to review service and food. SERVICE: I've been back a few times for lunch and coffee, and service has been quite...different from my first visit. Sotta gets very busy for lunch. This makes sense since it's a popular spot for Disney employees, myself included. While I understand that service can't be perfect at such busy times, it doesn't mean it should be rude either. Some of the workers taking orders at the front (and one lady in particular) can be pretty short, and even outright unhelpful at times. I've also had mistakes with my order more than once. Again, I get it. It's busy, mistakes happen. But the appropriate response isn't, "You don't know how busy it gets back there in the kitchen," as I was once told when part of my order was missing. A quick apology and fixing the mistake go a long way (neither of which happened in this case). That's not to say service is always bad. There are plenty of helpful and polite people here, but all it takes is a few bad experiences to sour your impression. I'm hoping they're working out the kinks as a relatively new business that has to deal with large crowds. FOOD: Service aside, the food here is excellent and keeps them at a higher rating. I had my doubts when they first opened. There are plenty of trendy, catch-all "Mediterranean" restaurants in the area, and I get a little wary when I see fusion wraps and salads on the same menu as kabobs. But the kabobs here are authentic and executed well. I've tried their ground sirloin (koobideh/luleh equivalent), chicken, and salmon so far. All were cooked to perfection (juicy, not dry) and seasoned without being overly salty. My only gripe is that portion sizes for proteins other the ground sirloin can be pretty small. The salmon plate almost looked like it was missing half the portion. Since a plate comes with your choice of 1 or 2 sides, it usually still ends up being filling overall. The sides are a decent size and come in a great variety, and they don't skimp on quality. Most plates here are $13-15, and while it's not too pricey, it would be nice to get more of what you're really paying for (the protein). This is especially true when you consider that comparable kabob places will give you heartier portions for the same or lower price. OVERALL: Still a great spot for food and coffee. I wish they'd work out some of the kinks in their service, but all in all, the food is good and that's what really matters. read more

We found this perfect scrumptious restaurant about two weeks ago looking online for a new place to go. Close to Disney in Burbank, if I worked there I'd be in heaven. So, when trying out a new place and putting this one on the list of good restaurants. I was waiting for my food and asked the staff what the name Sotta means, and it's apparently the owners name and they own two of my other restaurants in Los Feliz and Beachwood Canyon. Bravo! Who knew? Sotta is a handy location, divine cuisine, good open hours, a really great price, menu items are varied and two thumbs up for the food, service was excellent, although we got the food to go, the restaurant seems to be oozing with good vibes, friendly staff and cleanliness. Sotta sits on an unglamorous stretch of Alameda Ave yet it is a very well curated space with a warm and cozy outside area for seating which is mandatory during this never ending COVD world. One general question: why are the chairs so small? I realize that space is at a premium but in reality butts are bigger than this and if chairs were a bit bigger maybe people would sit longer and order more. Just sayin' But (and this is a big BUT) Sotta also sits very close to Disney Studios and St Joseph/Providence Hospital plus 3 huge Medical buildings: all these edifices teeming with hungry people. A more "glamorous" area like that of Burbank's Media Center or Burbank downtown has perhaps more walk by traffic but i'll take a spot near lots of working people than a more touristy area. In other words, Sotta stands firm as a Mecca in a good food desert area: not as groovy or snazzy as its downtown neighbors but based on all the reviews here featuring very good Med food. I was too early after a blood letting appt up the street to have lunch but i did order a big drip coffee (my "go to") when i first check out a coffee joint which Sotta basically is before they start offering Lunch and then dinner. The Drip was solid...not as robust as i would like: something you have heard me say 100 times. On a coffee machine it has to do with how much coffee the joint uses to make each pot. So, they need to increase the coffee to water equation here though the coffee they brew now is fruity, earthy and satisfied the caffein jones i brought here but: i need more flavor! I also bought a huge Sugar/Ginger disc cookie which was tasty and loaded with Ginger which i liked very much. They have no breakfast stuff per se unless you think that Pumpkin Cheesecake is early morning food. Though their morning business is mostly coffee plus i would think they need to come up with breakfast food: a few items only and another way to increase overall monies for the day. Service wise: the dude who took my order was nice and personal and the "barista" likewise. Both were pretty enough to be actors or models who are a plenty in Burbank which is at the very least pleasant to look at. But these guys were also informed about the products they sell. Good visit to Sotta today. I will be back for more of their Med food as it sounds delicious and is very well reviewed here. read more

Best chicken kabobs (dark meat) we've ever had - so flavorful, juicy, and tender! We've tried other things on the menu, but they weren't memorable, comparatively. In terms of sides: The lentil soup is lovely. Note that it's very gingery though, in case you're not into that. Hummus and other sides are good, but don't stand out. Desserts were slightly disappointing - kind of one-noted (sweet), but last time we've had them was maybe a year ago so may have improved since then. read more

Wow. Had an A-Maz experience at SOTTA yesterday. I tried their new Pomegranate Salmon salad and it was to die for. The salmon was very well seasoned and moist. The service was excellent as well. A young man named Ethan took my order and brought me my drink with in 5 minutes. Very shortly after my salad arrived at the table. I could not be more impressed! I also ordered a Lavender Lemonade with my meal and was quite surprise. I am not usually fan of floral drinks but will definitely be ordering this again! It was very refreshing and not overpowered. My husband and I have been wanting to try SOTTA for months now. We finally had lunch here the other day and it was fantastic! We shared the Grilled Salmon with rice and hummus and the BBQ Chicken Wrap with broccoli salad and a side of the tzatziki sauce. Everything was delicious!!! Can't wait to go back and try the babaganoush. For seating, there is a lovely outside patio to dine on and a relatively large interior. During the week, it can get pretty busy during lunch hours due to its close proximity to all the studios but it's worth the wait! read more

POV: me, not a big fan of Mediterranean food, but suggesting to get it for dinner one night. My boyfriend, eyes beaming with delight, immediately searched and found this place. I went with something relatively safe and decided to go with the Chicken Schwarma wrap. The presentation isn't anything to die for (for take out, who can blame them?), but the flavor surpassed all of my expectations. The portion size was also huge, and I found myself struggling to finish it! What was a so nice was that the wrap wasn't soggy. It was wrapped well and didn't fall apart. All of the flavors inside the wrap mixed so well together, and the chicken wasn't dry either. My boyfriend got a chicken kabob plate, but I kept finding him stealing my wrap when I put it down... I got the tomato soup as a side and ate the pita with it (sorry if that's blasphemous). The soup was a generous portion and I needed to save the rest for later. It was a warm savory treat on a cold November night. I have nothing bad to say about the pita as I love most pita (or anything carbs, really). A new discovery of mine in the Burbank area. I can see why this place is so popular! Simple minimalistic hipster interior design with some mismatched frame and an antique-style mirror wall. Guests range from young professionals to theme park guests to older people grabbing lunch. Definitely busier on weekdays especially around lunch time. Many people order to go so definitely do so if you're in a rush. Good meeting place or place to study or work if it's not too busy because there is a lot of seating. Also have an outdoor patio and parking in the back. Decent street parking too if it happens to be full. The lavender breve is to die for - I always order it iced and it is one of my favorite coffees ever. A good mixture of sweet but not perfume-y like flower coffees can sometimes be. Good coffee selection (stump-town!) and they also have an assortment of sweets to go with your coffee. The food here is delicious. Most options come with an option of one or two sides - the hummus is my favorite but the mushrooms as also delicious. The hummus tastes completely fresh. My first thoughts when walking up and into the place was that the restaurant was very aesthetically pleasing. I'm a sucker for great interior design and I was also in love with the green palette that colored the store. My experience at the register was unfortunately slightly irritating and underwhelming. My boyfriend and I were rung up by an older white woman. This was around 2 pm today. I tried to converse with her about the menu and asked her what the favorites were. She responded with one or two selections but I really wish she was more warm and a bit more elaborate with her responses. I just got the vibe that she was not happy to be there or maybe she was just having a rough day? Once we sat down, I asked my boyfriend why he didn't get any sides - because he's certainly not the type to pass on getting sides. He told me that he just felt uncomfortable at the register and a bit rushed, validating my own experience. As we were waiting for our food, I observed the energy of the rest of the place. The next girl who took over the register, while the older women who rung us up went on her 10 (I know this because I overheard her announce it to the room as she walked out), carried a completely different energy. She was extremely warm and welcoming to every customer she interacted with and definitely seemed happy to be there, or just happy in general. It had me wishing we would've walked in just 3 min later so we could've had a completely different experience. Thankfully, the food was delicious. The portions could've been a littttle bit bigger but the quality was excellent. The salmon was so light and flaky and the chicken was soft and tender. Good quality ingredients cooked with care, and their recipes are excellent. They charge more for better meats, but I can tell the meats are good quality. We surprisingly like the tomato soup...at first it seems a little salty, but it has good flavor and very appetizing. It would have been a 5 star review if not for the desserts. Cashier was patient while we decided what we wanted and showed a pleasant attitude. Even the manager (woman in the back with laptop, idk if she's officially the manager) went out of her way to guide me around. I saw the workers sanitize the tables often whenever people were finished eating. Masks were being worn. Social distancing was practiced. Ugh! I only wish they had a SOTTA where I live.
