My first thoughts when walking up and into the place was that the restaurant was very aesthetically pleasing. I'm a sucker for great interior design and I was also in love with the green palette that colored the store. My experience at the register was unfortunately slightly irritating and underwhelming. My boyfriend and I were rung up by an older white woman. This was around 2 pm today. I tried to converse with her about the menu and asked her what the favorites were. She responded with one or two selections but I really wish she was more warm and a bit more elaborate with her responses. I just got the vibe that she was not happy to be there or maybe she was just having a rough day? Once we sat down, I asked my boyfriend why he didn't get any sides - because he's certainly not the type to pass on getting sides. He told me that he just felt uncomfortable at the register and a bit rushed, validating my own experience. As we were waiting for our food, I observed the energy of the rest of the place. The next girl who took over the register, while the older women who rung us up went on her 10 (I know this because I overheard her announce it to the room as she walked out), carried a completely different energy. She was extremely warm and welcoming to every customer she interacted with and definitely seemed happy to be there, or just happy in general. It had me wishing we would've walked in just 3 min later so we could've had a completely different experience. Thankfully, the food was delicious. The portions could've been a littttle bit bigger but the quality was excellent. The salmon was so light and flaky and the chicken was soft and tender. I got a side of Greek salad and grilled vegetables which I also enjoyed very much. CANT GET ENOUGH! I was working in the area & saw SOTTA was 6 minutes away, I couldn't turn it down!!! You would think your second experience wouldn't be as great as the first but it was JUST. AS. GOOD. I don't know how they do it. The way they seasoned their meat... ULTIMATE PERFECTION. Today I ordered chicken again with a side of hummus and this time I got a broccoli salad & a shaken mint matcha. The hummus... the rice.... the meat... the broccoli... the mint matcha... Everything was beyond delicious! I walked in an ordered to dine in *outside* and the customer service was as always, an A+. Cashier was patient while we decided what we wanted and showed a pleasant attitude. Even the manager (woman in the back with laptop, idk if she's officially the manager) went out of her way to guide me around. I saw the workers sanitize the tables often whenever people were finished eating. Masks were being worn. Social distancing was practiced. Ugh! I only wish they had a SOTTA where I live. The food is amazing. You can tell they use fresh ingredients. I had the Pomegranate Salmon salad. Salmon cooked perfectly , The salad was not overly dressed with a lemon vinegarette is light and tangy. And their fries, so delicious. They are well seasoned and not frozen. Wow. Had an A-Maz experience at SOTTA yesterday. I tried their new Pomegranate Salmon salad and it was to die for. The salmon was very well seasoned and moist. The service was excellent as well. A young man named Ethan took my order and brought me my drink with in 5 minutes. Very shortly after my salad arrived at the table. I could not be more impressed! I also ordered a Lavender Lemonade with my meal and was quite surprise. I am not usually fan of floral drinks but will definitely be ordering this again! It was very refreshing and not overpowered. Came here during COVID restrictions for outdoor dining only in LA. This place is counter service so it works out well with the current restrictions. They have a great patio, too. I ordered the Boneless White Meat Chicken plate with a side of the broccoli salad and grilled veggies. The broccoli salad and veggies were great. However, I'm still not convinced I got white meat chicken even after double checking with the cashier. It was chewy and definitely tasted like dark meat. We went on a Monday night, where it was very slow. We ordered the lamb and was told it would take 15-20 minutes for our food. It ended up taking about 1 hour. The waiter that delivered the food apparently didn't know that chicken and lamb were different and gave our food to another table. They brought us chicken plates instead. Didn't say sorry and just let us sit there for another thirty minutes while we waited for our food to come out again. When we got the food, the lamb was dry and over cooked that desperately needed more seasoning. The food is delicious. And the space is gorgeous and was a wonderful place to go pre-pandemic. But we were very disappointed when picking up an order that they have taken little precautions. There is no plexiglass protection for employees or customers. And there is no protocol for people to stand in line. Plus the lady manning the cash register had her mask dropped below her nose. Some people recommended Sotta to me because they knew I enjoyed a good, robust coffee and delicious pastries. I gave it a try and thought my cappuccino breve and Americano were both tasty. The pastries and desserts looked and tasted like they were from a food supplier, like Sysco, instead of homemade in-house. The morning pastries were fair. I prefer fresh made. The dessert bars were marginal. I liked the look of Sotta. It has a nice atmosphere. Spacious. There are a few small parking spots in the back of the restaurant. The barista was polite and did a nice job on the espresso drinks. I believe Sotta uses Stumptown espresso beans. I will try Sotta again in the future for lunch or dinner. read more

This spot is ok. I had the salmon... the plate was more rice than anything. The portion of salmon was really stingy in my opinion. It comes in a skewer style, although there's no stick in it. I didn't know that there was a salad option you could have instead of the rice until just now when I checked the menu again to write this review. The employees should ask when you're ordering of you would like rice or salad. I would've gotten a salad. Iced vanilla latte saved the day. It was good. The grilled veggies were just ok. The sauteed mushrooms were a bit over salted... but not extreme. These were optional sides. I was honestly focused on the stingy salmon. Lil tiny nubbins of partially burnt fish. Forgettable taste. The resturant was bustling tho, so I'm sure they do good business, why with the Disney and other studios close. I'm certain they have one hell of a lunch rush. I'd avoid peak lunch hours. Last summer, my family held a breaking bread event after the funeral of our mother at Mount Sinai Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills. Living on the East coast, I was a little concerned that sight unseen, the small space might not accommodate our gathering. But it did, and it lightened the possible somber tone--and after a while, everyone was just raving about the food. We were treated with delicacy and kindness, and were made to feel welcome.
