I'm pretty sure I've driven by this place a million times and never realized it was a restaurant. I saw this place a few months back via an algorithm post from Instagram. But it felt like a perfect time to try it for my birthday weekend. I will say that the pictures that I've seen really just don't do justice to how it is in person. It is so much bigger than I expected it than honestly one of the nicest "outdoor" restaurants I've seen. Their food is pretty remarkable. Starting off we had the caprese appetizer as well as the calamari. Both were excellent the only suggestion is a wish the calamari was just a tad bit crispier. To me and another guest had the filet mignon I had the 10 oz and he had the 14 oz. What is a wild is that it comes on this heated slab that you really can choose your own meat temp because it's cooks for a very long time while it's on it. My suggestion is really to cut it up pretty quickly so you can see the changes in the color because if you don't eat quickly it will overcook. So he can get to well fairly quickly. But I love the idea and the brussel sprouts that come with it are pretty solid. I really enjoyed the blue cheese horseradish sauce. The other person in our party had the three skewers and they really enjoyed them. I wish they had one or two more side choices for whatever reason I have a feeling that they would make a solid mashed potato. The whole vibe is really amazing and I definitely would suggest if you're looking for a unique place to eat this would be. It's not particularly quiet because they have live music but the music that is played very much plays into the ambiance. One of the things that I think really resonated with me was that the owner came out and was talking to us. He really wanted to make sure we enjoyed our food Etc. I do think that this is a lost art form. Maybe it's because he owns his own business but having someone walk around to the table and making sure that they are happy with service or the food is so important in the industry that's struggled due to covid. They were a little behind with the food, but we truly didn't mind waiting because the staff was so apologetic and attentive, which we really appreciated. First time at The Stage in Burbank. The menu is a wild mix of Middle Eastern, American, and Italian -- a little bit of everything. Huge free parking lot in the back, which I loved. From the outside it looks a bit rundown, almost like an abandoned shack in Tijuana, but once you walk in, the décor shifts into a Gilligan's Island-meets-Polynesian movie set. Some of the foliage might have been plastic, so a bit tacky, but with all the plants it actually felt cooler than the thermometer said, which was nice. We arrived at 6 PM on a Saturday and it was nearly empty; by 8 PM it was booming. Edgar, our waiter, was fantastic -- attentive, funny, and his thick Armenian accent added to the charm. The crowd was diverse, all cultures and ages. They had a singer/violinist playing popular hits, and a belly dancer who wasn't the traditional style -- more like someone who could be dancing behind Jennifer Lopez on tour. Incredible energy, incredible body, incredible movement. She even pulled guests up to dance; two out of our six got summoned. Thank God she skipped me. There was also a huge screen showing the Switzerland-Argentina World Cup match, which was great to glance at from the corner of my eye. Menu: Perfect length, enough choices for everyone. We ordered: * Caprese burrata * Calamari * Margherita pizza * Fatoush salad * A parade of kebab skewers (chicken, salmon, shrimp, lamb, pork, beef) * Roasted potatoes, fries, roasted veggies * One steak * One baked branzino with spinach, blistered tomatoes, and Brussels sprouts (mine) Food temperature: One of my pet peeves is room‑temperature food. Salads should be cold, hot food should be hot. Some items missed the mark -- the roasted potatoes, fries, and calamari needed to be hotter. The kebabs, steak, and branzino were perfect. The caprese was properly chilled. Margherita pizza: Nothing to write home about. The dough tasted more like a thick tortilla with toppings than an actual pizza crust. I'm all about the dough when I order pizza -- I want chew, structure, a real crust, and those blistered edges. This had none of that. Just flat and forgettable. Fatoush salad: Served inside a baked pita you crack open -- fun idea, but it warms the salad and makes it soggy. Also not a traditional fatoush: avocado and creamy dressing instead of lemon‑based. Tasty, but not classic. Calamari: Over‑seasoned and salty. Came out in a clump instead of individual rings/tentacles. Wouldn't order again. Fries & potatoes: Good flavor, but temperature off. Roasted veggies: Slightly charred, balsamic and garlic -- delicious. Steak: Nicely cooked, good sear, and served at the right temperature. Solid, satisfying, and better than my friend expected for a place that's clearly more about kebabs. Baked branzino: My dish, and one of the standouts. The branzino was served open‑faced and fully deboned was tender and moist, not overcooked, with a clean flavor. The spinach, blistered tomatoes, and roasted Brussels sprouts worked really well together -- flavorful, balanced, and felt like a complete, thoughtful plate. Kebabs: OUTRAGEOUS. Perfectly marinated, cooked over charcoal, smoky, juicy -- the star of the night. I brought three bottles of red wine and Edgar kindly waived the corkage fee. Overall: A fun, lively experience with great service, strong entertainment, and excellent kebabs. Some food temperature issues, but I'd definitely return. Food - our party of 18pp went with ala carte menu the restaurant offered us several banquet or family style menus which we will definitely try on our next event. Everyone of our guests were blown away by quality of food, the menu was impressive with a lot to choose from different cuts of steaks to all kinds of seafood. I have been wanting to try this place out for a while and was sadly disappointed when I finally got the chance to. My mother and I arrived into the parking lot whereas soon as we tried to park several of the employees stared at us in a very strange way and did not break eye contact with us. There were two men who looked at me with a blank serious stare not even a smirk or smile it made me feel very uncomfortable and uneasy. It felt as if they did not want us to be there.. They said they weren't sure if they could accommodate us without a reservation. Weird because there were open tables all night. The service was.... Extremely intermittent. Anytime we needed so needed something we had to flag someone down. After our food was served no one came back to the table again (we stayed for likely an hour after food) until we asked to get someone to bring the check. FYI they don't have a liquor license. So it's beer and wine. The list looks long but they were out of a couple wines we asked for. They do have cocktails on the menu but it's a low volume alcohols used in these, so you can't just order a "bar" drink. What was good? The food was actually great. Had the calamari, beef/eggplant Thai salad and the lamb chops. Used the rest room and saw them on the charcoal grill outside cooking. Also the ambience is relaxing. Youre sitting under trees in the shade. Don't think I'd go back. Just didn't feel welcome or inviting. But the food and physical atmosphere does make it a place with potential. read more

Initially you walk in and think awww this is a cute place! And it is a cute place, but what makes it not so cute is the service and the food quality. The waiter almost wants to fight you and pick and choose for you. It was irritating. They have live music in the corner but it's so loud you can't really hear the person across the table so you're forced to sit and eat the terrible food with your own thoughts cause you can't really have a decent convo with the person next to you. (I do have to say the pizza and tomatoes were the only decent thing they have). The meat is okay but the lamb was very smelly and if you touch it you'll need a shower immediately after.
