Cute place! Came here on an empty afternoon craving something greek and this place nailed it! I got the lamb gyro which immediately brought me back to my trip in Greece, ordering the most amazingly delicious gyro ever from a hole in a wall down a side street from our hostel. Thinking about it makes my mouth water. Slices of lamb glistening with fat with onions, tomato, tzaziki sauce and topped off with french fries... it was perfect. read more

I have been ordering from something Greek for years with my job and my boyfriend. Today I called for a delivery and asked for a lamb platter, and 15 min after making the order I had something else on my agenda so I couldn't take the food. So I called back and asked the woman very politely if she could cancel my order and she told me "they are already on their way" so I said nicely "okay is there any way you can call them and have them come back? If you can't it's totally fine but I just can't take it" so she proceeds to give me an attitude and tell me "well you just took 15 dollars out my pocket , but it's fine I'll cancel it". Whoever I was speaking to whether it was the owner or an employee, they're bad for business and super rude. I couldn't believe she said that to me. I will not be ordering from here ever again. The food here is great and I would give it more stars if I always got what I ordered here or even received delivery in a somewhat timely manner. The majority of the time I pick up my food it's usually missing something that I have to go all the way back to pick up. We stopped getting delivery from here because we were always getting the wrong order or missing part of the order. The food would arrive cold and we would be missing essential parts of the meal like the pita bread for a salad. We have received the wrong order entirely many times and it always took them over an hour (if not hours) to get the food to us.m (we live 5 blocks away)! Ordered on grubhub, took an hour and a half. Food was fine and they said there was a problem with grubhub that night. Ok. So we called tonight. They got the address wrong. I called twice before they realized they wrote the wrong address down. They could not have called? Food was lukewarm, barely any vegetables on the gyros which were weirdly topped with French fries. I really like this place when I need a gyro fix. I've had both the pork, lamb and beef gyro. The fries could be crisper. The salmon with lemon potatoes is great. I like their bottled beers. This place has a crazy busy take out / pick up business which impacts the time it takes to get your order. The people working there are friendly. Excellent food, although the spanikopita could use a little help. Small plates make it really nice to try many things at once. Very good selection. It's hard to find good saganaki, but this place does have it. My only other small gripe is that they don't serve pastitsio. If they added it, I might add another star. Was here last Friday for the first time, and I'm definitely a fan! Decor is cute, food is tasty, and the staff is friendly. I had the chicken gyro platter, and that alone was more than enough for two people. Prices are mid-range, but the portions are so large that it makes up for it. Would certainly return! I agree with the person who called them a pain in the ass. The food is good but the service, especially the delivery service is awful. I'm presently waiting for my third attempt at ordering for delivery in recent weeks and have been waiting over an hour. The last two times items were forgotten and it has taken over an hour. They are somewhat apologetic when you call but their solution instead of making things right on that order is "I'll get you next time." Apparently there is a running list so then you have to say hey remember you screwed up my order and you owe me, which is awkward. We will definitely be coming back here. The food is solid, the service is good, and the place is nice. I'm sure it's been said already, but the white sauce is delicious! I had a gyro and friend had the meat platter, all yummy. If I had to nitpick, I'd say some of their meat is a bit too salty, but it's all cooked very impressively-this coming from someone who is super picky about meat. Tried the rice pudding, it was just okay, but the other desserts sound good. Come here! Oh and the spinach pastry is one of the best I've tried, very flavorful. read more

We went (my wife and I) to this Restaurant a couple of times for the gyro. (You can't miss the three huge gyros as you are passing by). Then one day, we looked at their menu and this time we read the last page. The heading of the page was "Weekly Dinner Specials". It was Friday night and we had plenty of time. So, we ordered the day's special: "Pastitsio" (Baked layers of pasta and ground beef with tomato sauce and creamy bechamel, spices, etc). It was out of this world!!! We decided to go again the next day and try their "Yemista" (Stuffed peppers and tomatoes with ground beef, rice, herbs and spices). It was extraordinary. Since then we keep going often (at least once a week) and enjoy real "food". The service (they know us by now) is wonderful. We definitely recommend this place for the food, it's coziness and neatness. We believe is one of the best in Bayridge. read more

This place has delicious food! Their mixed grill entrée has such huge portions, it can make two more meals. Their stuffed grape leaves taste so creamy inside, chicken kebabs are so juicy and well seasoned. The lemon potatoes are mouth-watering. The service was great and fast. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Everytime I call and order they mess up my order! Just today i ordered and they got it wrong and they offered credit because as usual they don't have a delivery man. They need to get their shit together. Then my father went to get it and get the "credit" because there is no way we wasted money here. And they said no to it! My fiance' and I were going home and were looking for a good place to eat. We have walked past this place multiple times but had never tried it. From the outside it just looks like your typical "street and eat" (as I call them) but when you walk inside it is a very nice and clean place. The company I work for had an event in which my CEO requested Greek food for approximately 100 people who were visiting New York for the first time and never tasted Mediterranean food. Many of my friends and family have been to SomethinGreek and always had some pretty great reviews about the food. Not only was I impressed but those at this event were also immensely impressed on the quality and flavor of the food - it was absolutely delicious! In fact, one of the attendees, while eating, said "now this is a New York experience". I worked with Katerina who organized the order. She was very professional and kept me in the loop with food and pricing; she made sure to have the food delivered on time, provided what we needed to keep the food warm as well as anything needed to serve the food along with utensils and napkins. What really made them stand out is the quality of their food; it was very fresh from the Spanakopita to the Moussaka, Pastitsio, various souvlakis and of course the salads, meatballs, lemon potatoes and grape leaves (Dolmathes). Katerina even had the white sauce (Tzitziki) in small containers for people to have on their plate rather than scoop it from a bowl. That idea was a hit as everyone I saw had one on their plate and mentioned how great the taste was. Normally, when food is catered, you can tell that it's been frozen for a while - this place was the complete opposite; one of my co-workers mentioned how they knew the grape leaves were fresh by the taste and that it was hand rolled since the grape leaf itself did not have flat edges as if in a can. Basically if you want great food for a night out or if you are catering an event, head to this restaurant - you will not be disappointed! read more

My sister and I just ordered food from Something Greek. We both ordered the Chicken Souvlaki platters... which were amazing! Really hit the spot! We always eat italian or asian food when we order takeout so we were looking for something different to switch things up. We will definitely be ordering from here again! The platters came with two chicken souvlaki skewers which were very tasty and seasoned well. I wanted to keep the dish semi-healthy so I went for the rice instead of the french fries ... I have to admit, I'm not a huge fan of rice pilaf ... but it was cooked nicely and went really well with the chicken. The salad on the side could have had a little more lettuce- there were more tomatoes and cucumbers than there was romaine. The pita bread was delicious.. and my favorite part of this meal .... the tzatziki was the best I have ever had! I highly recommend this restaurant.
