    Decent food, bad customer service. The price they advertise is never correct and had my final straw. $9.95 lunch special is advertised, $15.25 when I go to pick it up. Was told over the phone all sides are included, yet I picked salad and now it's an up charge. This salad look like it's worth an up charge? Never eating there again. Too many good Greek places in Bay Ridge to come back here again.

    Stopped in here for some food after a nail appointment! Atmosphere was chill, in bay ridge. I was greeted kindly and was unsure what to order and asked if they had pescatarian options in which they did so I ordered a shrimp gyro. It was very fresh tasting with all fresher ingredients and seasoned moderately well. I actually would want to go back and try something else.

    Good neighborhood Greek spot. I'm there most often for lunch, and they have a reasonably priced lunch special for souvlaki sandwiches and fries (or salad for a small upcharge). I usually get the chicken souvlaki, and the pita arrives stuffed with tzatziki, fries, tomatoes, onions, and lots of chicken. Their house salad is one of my favorite types of salads, so I often pair that with the sandwich for a very satisfying meal. We're also a fan of their saganaki appetizer, and my kid could eat almost the entire block of fried cheese on his own. Seating is both inside and in the backyard, and they also do a lot of takeaway orders.

    5 Stars! I wanted to single out Something Greek as a place residents of Bay Ridge and everyone else can go to for "comfort food" especially as we enter the fall season. The manager John is the main reason this restaurant is so good! He has a natural ability to connect with customers and make them feel welcome. He makes it a point to know customers by name, ensure everything is right, will find a way to make sure what is advertised to eat is available. How is Something Greek different? They say to be honest, we are not reinventing the wheel here -but perhaps that's the point. We cook rustic Greek food the same way our Mama did when we were growing up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. We prepare and marinate our gyros and souvlaki to taste the same as those we ate at home and in Greece. Our philosophy: do it right with high quality ingredients and make it taste good. Freshness and authenticity are of ultimate importance to us. The restaurant has a clean, homey, look. Great prices and have barely raised any of their prices since before the COVID pandemic hit. Here's one example.....How about a fresh great size portion of salmon, salad, pita bread, rice or lemon potato's all for under $16?? Wait? What?? Yes that's correct and the quality stands up to any other restaurant you will pay $30 to $50? elsewhere. They have outdoor garden seating in the spring, summer and fall, offer gyros wraps, Souvlaki, Dolmas, Keftedakia hand rolled greek-style meatballs, Dolmades, Spanakopita, Saganaki, Bifteki sandwiches, Tiropita, pitas, salads such as Marouli salad,soups, some of the best burgers, deserts, wine, beer a daily special, Greek favorites such as Pastitsio - Greek Lasagna, large portions and a friendly wait staff. Kevin another employee is also a friendly and dedicated worker who will step up when John is not there. Whether it's wait in, pick up or take out you can count on the food being great. You can't go wrong eating here and I would highly recommend you trying them if you have not done so yet.

    It's a nice small restaurant and is very clean. You can watch them cook the food in the front and service is friendly. Bathroom in the back is clean. The beef and lamb platter $18 and bifteki sandwich $10 was what I ordered. The beef and lamb is very tender and salad was fresh. The fries on the other hand was very soggy. Wish I gotten the rice instead. The bifteki was flavorful but the fries in it ruin it. It was very soggy.

    I frequent this location often! One of the few meals you can enjoy with flavor and just the right amount of food without feeling sluggish! There few things i recommend are the chicken Slovaki, gyro and lamb combo, and the grilled mixed. All superb.

    Eat in the back outside, get some fresh air while enjoying good Greek food.

    An absolute gem of a restaurant for authentic Greek style cuisine. This place has been a go to for me since they first opened a decade ago. Highest recommendation. Try a Gyro Platter. You'll be glad you did.

    Been wanting to stop in here for quite a while. What I had: - A cup of soup, great balance of flavor. Really enjoyed it, they included with crackers on side. - chicken souvlaki plate, a solid choice if you want a bit of everything: salad, meat, potato side, dolma, and some olives. - Spankopita spinach pie was pretty fresh and delightful. Flakey and really hit the spot. Service was a little lacking. We sat before another party - ready to order but they took their order and brought them water first, thought that was odd. I'd come back again for the food.

    This is my first time in Brooklyn, NY, and Athena was a perfect introduction, recommended by my…read morepartner's best friend who moved to the city recently. Athena is a quaint little place with friendly staff like Stavros (I hope that's how he spells it). For an appetizer, we ordered the dip trio with hummus (which was so creamy and delicious), spicy whipped feta, and tzatziki, which was honestly the star of the trio. Stavros was also kind enough to bring us more pita bread to finish our dips! I ordered the Lamb Souvlaki, and it was amazing. Juicy and sizable cuts of lamb dipped in more tzatziki on top of a bed of fluffy rice pilaf. It's a hefty plate so I only ate about half and took the rest back to my hotel. I hope I can eat the other half before I leave! I'm also hoping there's a place in Raleigh, where I live, that can match this experience. What's not pictured is the baklava dessert, which was quickly demolished by the three of us. It was originally meant for me only, but my partner and his best friend couldn't resist multiple bites. If you love Mediterranean food and you're in New York, add this place to your list. Well worth the trip. And also ask about the "Windex" shots (;

    Update '26! Better…read moreand better. Honestly, the quality of Let's Go...a year on is better. Their consistency and devotion to customer satisfaction is so refreshing and commendable. I got a two skewer combo with shrimp and pork (and remembered to ask for my fries well done). Everything about this plate was spot on from the marinades, to the seasoning to the temperature. The fries are STELLAR! Much more like the rustic fried potatoes that you find in a Greek taverna. There seemed to be a constant flow of satisfied guests, happily dining in the "secret garden" out back. Keep it up Ya Souvlakia.

What stood out most was that there was truly something delicious for everyone, whether you were craving traditional Greek favorites (like a Gyro) or wanted to try one of the more unique menu offerings (like a custom bowl). The food was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned, making it easy for everyone at the table to leave happy. The spicy feta and tzatziki were spot on and great toppings. They stay true to classic Greek street food while offering a few creative options that help set them apart from other spots. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner. One of the hidden gems is the outdoor patio in the back, which provides a great place to enjoy your meal when the weather is nice. It's a wonderful addition that gives the restaurant a neighborhood feel.
