I had a disappointing experience at Gyro King. I went in and ordered the lunch special lamb over rice. While preparing the order, the staff asked if I wanted a large. I clearly said I wanted the lunch special. However, he continued packing what looked like a regular-size portion. At the end, I was charged the full regular price instead of the lunch special price. When I mentioned that I ordered the lunch special, he argued that he had asked if I wanted a large and claimed I said yes. That was not what I intended, and it felt like the situation could have been easily fixed if they cared about customer service. Instead of correcting the order or adjusting the price, they insisted on charging the regular price. I didn't continue arguing and just paid, but it left a bad impression. It honestly felt like a bait-and-switch situation. If a customer clearly asks for a lunch special, the staff should confirm before preparing a larger order. Bay Ridge doesn't mess around about being closed on Mondays! Many restaurants, despite the Halloween festivities, were closed. But not gyro king I stopped in to grab some takeout to eat outside, but come to learn they have a dedicated seating area inside with about 5 tables. Food was fresh and tasty. Great place for a tasty, reasonably priced, and filly lunch. Food: I ordered the Lamb Pita and my boyfriend got the chicken and lamb combo platter with rice.  They have a full toppings bar where you can add whatever you want to the pitas/platters like onions, lettuce, tomato etc. Everything was delicious and really filling. Price: super reasonably priced. Our total for both items was $15. It's really hard for two people to eat for less than that around here, so really worth it in my opinion. Service: staff was friendly and patient with us as we each picked out items from the salad bar to add to our dishes. Ambience: Nowhere to sit down here, so take-out/delivery only. The new Gyro King recently opened in Bay Ridge, dishing out heaping platters of rice, salad, meats, and falafel at affordable prices. I ordered chicken with rice ($6.99), and was very pleased with the giant portions of rice, chicken, and salads. The rice and chicken were both seasoned with lots of spices, and the chicken, mixed with peppers and tomatoes, wasn't dry at all. The salad was fine, just a collection of fresh vegetables, but I liked that it included chickpeas. They have a bunch of sauces, including the usual white and hot sauce, and you can always add extra sauce (or just add them all yourself) from the sauce bottles in the dining area. There's a comfortable dining area with some booths and tables, and they have a bathroom in the back. It's great to have another counter service place in the neighborhood, especially one with such tasty food for great prices! read more

I'm sorry, i ate my lamb chicken combo over salad so fast, you guys didn't even get to enjoy seeing it! Made fresh to order and incredibly delicious. Today I had that with the baklava and a small side salad. I can't rave enough about this place. The quality of the "food" we got here was terrible,the place should have been a pushcart with wheels on it parked in the south Bronx. The Lamb & Rice I ordered was gamey, mushy & then chewy (like it was heated, refrigerated and then heated again several times) ....horrific! The "white sauce" was mayonnaise cut with water just like in the pushcarts! ( no greek style tzatziki sauce here) The only thing barely edible was the rice.
