Chicken Musakhan
Tory L.

Saw this place pop up in my Yelp businesses updates email on friday and be came quite curious about the Chicken Musakhan that was featured. So that evening I found Ruzana on Grub Hub and orderd it. This was the first time I had this dish and I love getting to try something now. It was on the bone chicken with Carmelized Onions,Sumac and lots of other wonderful Middle Eastern Spices, topped with slivered almonds on this fluffy flatbread called Taboon. It is a beloved dish of Palestine and I can see why,the chicken was perfectly cooked and the sweeness of the onions mingled magically with the spices and the crunch of the almonds added texture. The Taboon was soaked in the juices and crispy on the edges and soft and fluffy in middle. The only hiccup was the place doesnt use Grub Hub drivers and I was unable to track (which sets off my OCD), after several minutes past last expected arrival I called restaurant to see if it had left and the lady was having a hard time understanding, asking me if I wanted to order and then saying no order had been placed with my name. I asked again are you sure and gave my address no no orders was her reply. Just as I was about to figure out how to get my money back from Grubhub the delivery guy showed up. So that was a bit of unnecesary stress I will chalk up to a miscommunication tho I may decide to dine in next time to avoid this issue.

Wow, what a hidden gem!! As a Palestinian American, it's rare to find authentic good Palestinian food, so when I come across this wonderful restaurant, I was fortunate! First of all, the ambience is so cute and charming with some tables inside and outside. They do lots of take out and catering-tells you how good the food and service is! Abdel-Rahman was so professional, friendly and accommodating. He answered all my questions and the chef was so friendly and handled all my allergy requests like a professional! Everything came out of the kitchen with love and amazing presentation. So much detail to spices and taste to ensure perfection. They don't take shortcuts and focus on quality and flavor. This will now be our regular place for Palestinian food and also just a wonderful place for veggie options for me. Plenty of meat and seafood dishes as well that look so delicious. Ruzana is authentic and as close as it gets to how my mom cooks. Super clean establishment with charm in every corner. Thank you chef and Abdul-Rahman! See later this week!

Ample servings of fresh food. Lots of meat. Great salads. We had a kebab and it was huge. Well spiced and cooked to order. We had the labneh and that was fresh and huge. The service is good. The guy behind the counter was friendly and fast. They have a number of tables inside and out. Unfortunately, too cold to sit outside. You get a lot of bang for your buck here. I wish they had better fries and better hot sauce (right now no middle eastern version, just American). Also, when we first sat down, no one was there. But then people came in were not social distancing or wearing masks, so maybe it's best to take out here.

Babaganoush

4 star food, 1 star off for the fact that no one in the kitchen was wearing a mask, and I had to ask our server specifically to wear one as a well. Safety is safety, regardless of food quality! The babaganoush was my favorite - drenched in olive oil with spices laden on top. Paired equally well with the complimentary pita as well as the French fries that come with most of the platters. The Arabic falafel plater was not bad - the flavor of the falafel patties did not "wow" me to be honest, although dipping in the fresh hummus, served with a few pieces of whole chickpeas still present, partially made up for it.

Amaaaazing, delicious food, and wonderful service!! we ordered the lamb kebab platter, Arabic meat shawarma platter, baba ganoush, grape leaves! So fresh, flavorful, and delicious!! LOVED the white sauce it came with! The service was great--they were all so sweet and kind! Can't wait to come back!! Thank you so much! !!!

Casual sit down restaurant. Food is so fresh and delicious. Everything is very well seasoned. Rice is fluffy. One of the better falafels I've had. Chicken tender and juicy. I can't say how much I enjoyed this meal. The price is very reasonable as well. If you want Palestinian/middle eastern food give them a shot.

Msakhan

This place is a gem! Food there is sooo tasty and the portions are big that you will most likely end up taking leftovers home (also a plus not to cook the next day!) Prices are very reasonable and honestly with food that good, other places would charge you waaaay more. I went there with my family and a small group of friends and we ordered a bunch of stuff ( Shawarma platter, Mansaf platter, burger and fries, Msakhan and stuffed grape leaves) and some appetizers salad, hummus and fries, Tabbouleh. Everything I tried was good and tasty, staff were very welcoming and friendly. On a side note, we noticed they were packing a huge order to go and out of curiosity we asked and came to know that they cater events and parties and that order was a stuffed lamb! It looked huge Highly recommend the place, a must try if you ever were in bay ridge area, Brooklyn.

Chicken Shawarma was delicious and I loved the white sauce that came with it. Inside the restaurant looked cute and they have nice outdoor seating. Only thing I would say is that the service was a little bit slow.

You…read morewould miss it on busy Coney Island Avenue if you weren't looking for it -- the only reason I did was because I was checking for baking supplies at the nearby Ideal Supermarket. The only thing that betrays the hidden nature of Dunya Kabab House is the brilliant red sign. Upon closer inspection, you can see a warm dining area, glass partition to see "where the magic happens" in the kitchen behind, and the many articles plastered showing their unique take on Afghani food. I bookmarked the spot to come back to, and within the week, I came back and ordered takeout for the dish most fellow reviewers raved about -- the Uzbeki Qabuli Pulao. When I got home and opened the bag, I was pleasantly surprised to find a small side salad and the dish I recognised from a visit to another nearby restaurant specialising in Uzbeki food -- the plov! The rice was really well seasoned and the lamb shank was so tender it fell off the bone. Everything was really flavourful and well balanced, even for take-out. Unlike the other place, this plov was still sweet without being cloyingly so. I had such good impression that I'm excited to return in the future and try their other dishes, since I heard *everything* Dunya Kebab House does is impeccable.

I also highly recommend the firnee, a decadent custard with pistachios--could honestly eat it all day. It's also super affordable for the quality and portion size--this is definitely going to become a go-to for lunch and dinner in the neighborhood for me. Don't miss it!

I ordered the Journey to Baku salad, the Turkish bread, and the Guru Khingal. The salad needed a pinch of salt, but there was a shaker on the table and with that addition, it was a decent refreshing appetizer. It's sort of a spread so I would recommend ordering some bread to eat with it. The bread came out steaming hot and smelling amazing. It was soft and fluffy on the inside and delicious. I took the extra home and ate it all immediately when I got there. Delicious bread. The Guru Khingal is honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten in New York City. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, as I have never eaten this type of food before. The tender, handcut pasta seems to be layered with flavorful lamb fat like the most decadent possible buttered noodles and the ground lamb topping is rich and perfectly seasoned. The yogurt sauce gives the dish balance. It's a fairly large portion that could easily be shared between two. I highly recommend this spot, the glowing reviews are not exaggerating at all. I often like to try new and unusual restaurants, and sometimes I enjoy them mostly for the novelty. That was not the case at Village Cafe. My meal here was delicious and I am eager to return, even with the 75 minute commute from north Brooklyn.

When asked for water without any lemon slices, they provided bottled water at no extra cost! Food: (4/5) - rated New York Times top 100 Best Restaurants in New York City in 2025 Every dish came with a small cup of sour cream / Tzatziki based sauce that went with every dish. This was a must and this was mastered very well. Kutaby with chicken and lamb (4/5) - we ordered one each but the lamb was far superior than the chicken. Guru Hingal (4/5) - served in a warmed bowl with a lid in a bed of soft pasta and minced lamb. The pasta reminded me of chow fun (Chinese rice flat noodles) and then some seasoned minced lamb. While overall there were flavors in there, it was still lacked flavors and required to be drowned in the Tzatziki sauces or perhaps a order of table hot sauce. Finally we got the Lamb Lulya Kebab (5/5): this was by far the best dish of the meal! The meat was so wonderfully seasoned throughout, juicy, and complemented well with the rice, onions, and tomato based dip. The wraps themselves were way too small to enjoy using hands so we definitely reconstructed on our plates and attempts with our hands.

You order on the sidewalk via a kiosk and choose your protein (chicken, beef, or mixed), served as a wrap, sandwich, or in a box. I got the chicken box and of the three available sides (salad, yellow rice, fries) chose the rice and sides. The most delicious garlic cream sauce is drizzled over everything, though you can get extra sauce for $1 if you want more than just a drizzle. You can also get some spicy sauce for the same price, which does not come standard with the box. I didn't try the spicy stuff, but I would next time. The rice and the crunchy, shoestring-style spiced fries were great, but of course the biggest star of the box was the ridiculously tender chicken. It reminded me of halal street meat, but it's maybe even juicier and more succulent. Minor notes: The chicken was slightly, just slightly, over salted. Don't wait too long to eat the fries, which lose their luster pretty fast (as fries tend to do).

I had home made green mint tea to accompany the food and he had Mighty Leaf orange blossom , both complemented the food beautifully .
