Got takeout from Ruzana. It's also available on other online platforms If you want to order from here. I got the chicken shawarma platter and my boyfriend got the mixed grill platter. His platter was huge! Both dishes were delicious and flavorful. I got the labana and it was good as well. I would definitely recommend this place for takeouts. They do dine in as well and they have outdoor seating, but it's still a little tight. I would rather get takeout and eat at home comfortably and socially distanced. read more

First time ordering from this place. My wife and I love Middle Eastern food. I must say, the food was probably one of the top Middle Eastern places I have ordered from. We both had the same dishes. Chicken Shawerma Platter: Middle eastern specialty assortment of thinly sliced seasoned chicken, with a side of rice or fries, salad, and garlic sauce. Baba Ghanouge: Mashed smokey grilled eggplant blended with tahini, lemon and garlic, served with homemade Arabic bread. The food was amazing and the ingredients were very fresh. The Service is just as good. Delivery took less than 30min. read more

I love the arabic lamb shawarma platter and that is essentially the only thing I order here because it is so good. The cole slaw and fries that come with it are great; the lamb and the wrap was amazing. The food here is great but I wish they would be a little more attentive and approachable! They can be nice or just sort of iffy in general; I felt I had to ask for attention to get served. Otherwise, the service is fast and the decor is pretty cute too for a counter-service joint. I drop in here if I need a quick bite to eat that is so big, I end up having a little snack to pack for later! You should give this place a try :) instagram.com/mariebonappetit read more

The outdoor seating caught my eye. As soon as I walked in, I definitely did not feel very welcomed. The young lady at the front didn't smile or ask me if I needed help. I really couldn't tell if she just really didn't want to be at work or just didn't like me. But she did definitely turn me off. Feeling welcomed is so so important for new customers. The food was good but the lack of attention to the space, cleanliness and customer service could use some work. There weren't many tables outside, but at least half of the tables had leftover food or napkins on them and the whole hour I was there, no one cared to clean up the tables outside. I would love to come visit again but hopefully next time I can see some cleaner tables and possibly a smile from the workers? :) read more

I was craving real, authentic Middle Eastern food when we got back to the states; we temporarily live in the Caribbean. We ordered takeout from here since it is hard to find street parking (only downside though because we really wanted to dine in). Portions are absolutely huge! Don't be mistaken. We ordered way too much and had leftovers (never a bad thing). The hummus was plain, but filled with flavor and was the best hummus I've tasted. I had the lamb kebab with the garlic dipping sauce. The seasoning and the flavor of the lamb was out of this world and the sauce was creamy enough to just balance out tastes. I could only eat half of my chicken shawarma wrap since we ordered so much food, but that was amazing too. The flavor the place puts in their meals is like you're living in flavor heaven. read more

Best Shawerma in NY, I've also tried the Falafel wraps and would definitely recommend it.

One of my favorite Middle Eastern restaurants in Brooklyn. You really get a bang for your buck as everything is super affordable with large portions. Food is always out fast. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Get their hummus! Follow @halalfoodstagram on IG for more halal food content. read more

Oh, Alison, thy Yelp friendship's true. Oh, Alison, this review's for you. So yeah, taking some literary license here 'cause Allison Y's got two l's in her first name, but this one's for you, girl. Thank you for all the amusing compliments you've sent along the way, making me feel like you actually read my reviews. Thank you, too, for reminding me that I had bookmarked this place to try. Anyway, without further adieu: Hubby and I were debating about what to order when the friendly owner stopped by our table and enthusiastically recommended the Arabic Chicken Shawarma. "It's the first of its kind in New York City!" he proclaimed. Well, alrighty then. Of course we tried that Shawarma, which was slathered VERY generously with garlic sauce and rolled burrito style in a thin, flaky, slightly chewy pancake-flour tortilla hybrid referred to on the menu as 'Bedouin bread.' Hubby pointed out that it was lacking in the fresh veggies that tend to be included in a more typical pita pocket Shawarma. Definitely something I'd eat again, but imo, it didn't eclipse the more familiar rendition. We also got an Arabic Falafel Sandwich, wrapped similarly in the same bread. Falafel was crisp and tasted fried on the spot, but again with the nitpicking, hubby noted it was lacking in the vibrant green pop of fresh cilantro and / or parsley. And just for the heck of it, we tried a couple Kibbeh, aka football-shaped bulgur croquettes filled with ground meat; in this case, beef. Enjoyed these, though they didn't compare to my all-time favorite BK Kibbeh from The Family Store. But I digress as usual... We'd wanted to try a few mezze, but the owner kindly advised us not to, insisting,"you already have more than enough to eat." He was sooo not wrong. I think two people with a lighter appetite could easily share one of the Sandwiches we ordered, along with an appetizer or two. A word about the ambiance: The Yelp pics for this place make it appear really decked out. In reality, the space is smaller and more humble looking; at least is was to me. Bottom line: Great value for freshly prepared Middle Eastern food that'll definitely hit the spot even if it won't be the best you've ever had. I'd totally return to sample the rest of the menu and to enjoy more of the gracious hospitality that we experienced on this visit. ps Allison Y., I sure hope you're an Elvis Costello Fan.:) read more

The food was great. I ordered the chicken shawarma platter and the pie. I wish the fries had a little more seasoning but it's not that big of a deal. I'm just a sucker for seasoning. I loved the chicken platter. It was delicious and very filling. Worth the price. The pie was affordable and tasted great. Great experience I just ordered again and this time the food was still great but they messed up my order. I ordered the Baklava and got the Basbousa. read more

WOW! What a great addition to the area! Literally the best chicken shawarma that I've had in a while. It was super juicy and all of the ingredients were fresh. I would highly recommend trying it with the fries! They are also very crispy. The white garlic sauce is not too overpowering, but it's so delicious! I highly recommend chewing some gum after, especially if you have somewhere important to be. Regardless dip that sauce in everything. Whatever you do, order the shawarma chicken Arabic !!! This platter comes with shawarma chicken wrapped in a thin wrap with a creamy sauce, seasoned fries, pickled peppers/olives and a coleslaw salad. The portions are big and very filling. Everything is made fresh. The thin wrapper was made in front of us. The interior is so beautiful. It made us feel welcomed. The service was great. The owner came to us to check on us a few times. He came and gave us complimentary dessert and hummus! Everyone was so friendly and attention. The falafel were so delicious and good portions. They were made small so you don't feel too guilty eating this deliciousness. We also got a small order of baba ghanouse to go! Can't wait to dip pita bread in it. We will be coming back soon to try the rest of the menu!! read more

I can only speak on the chicken shawarma and a small sample of beef . The shawarma came with fries , coleslaw and some olives . It was cut up into several pieces which is good for sharing with your friends or doggy if you're lucky like me to have . The wrap that the shawarma was made from was too chewy for my liking though. They were also too heavy handed with the white sauce and not enough pieces of chicken . I didn't care for it much and might just get the platter when I visit next time . Why the 4 stars ? Well their fries were amazingg and the beef I sampled from them was amazing . The cole slaw was also really good . Surprisingly they don't have lamb which was disappointing but the beef made me forget about it . I could certainly see the potential in the food . The guys there are very welcoming and polite as well which makes me want to try more of their offerings . Will update as I dabble further . read more

I used to love ordering from here they have traditional foods the family loved it. The portions were as advertised and the quality was great. However, lately the portions are ridiculous. The grilled lamb came with 4 pieces!!! That's crazy. I know prices are hiked but this is not enough! I thought it was a fluke the first time, but I ordered again and the rotisserie chicken I bought was cut up and and shoved in those divided trays with a little rice and hummus!! What is this? If this was a food cart on a corner sure! but this is a restaurant and they charge restaurant prices. Also the tabbulah had a stone!!! read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this place! I would recommend anyone try this place if they want to try something delicious and different. It's easy to stick to safe options such as shwarma here but dont be afraid to try their other dishes like Mansaf. I dont know how authentic it is but it is so tasty. We just moved to Bay Ridge and made our first visit to Ruzana last night. It was splendid-- the food, the vibe, and the friendly, welcoming service. The lamb and kofta platters were perfectly cooked and presented, with generous helpings of delicious sides. We heard the food scene was great in this neighborhood, and it's wonderful to find out how true that is. We look forward to our next meal(s) at this excellent restuarant. read more

Wow!! This place is amazing!! Had a craving for some lamb kabob and Ruzana did not disappoint. I had a feeling my experience would be a good one considering the amount of people congregating outside and inside the restaurant to find a place to eat. We were fortunate to grab a spot and so began our long wait... Usually this would be considered a bad thing but the folks at Ruzana take their time to cook your order when your order; no reheat kabob situation here! After a good 15-20 minutes our sandwiches arrived. The pita was warm with just a bit of crunch while lamb was cooked perfectly; tender and flavorful!! We also ordered some Lebne and baba ganoush -- both were plentiful and served with fresh bread... I am soo happy this place exists!! Can't wait to go back!! read more

The food is delicious. The stuffed grape leaves are some of the best I've had. But the delivery person showed up not wearing a mask, which is totally unacceptable. I wore one to answer the door, for God's sake! I don't know if he was a restaurant delivery person or from Seamless but I wasn't happy about that at all. I washed all of the containers before eating. I mentioned this to Seamless as well. read more

I just had the WORST phone experience while trying to place an order for delivery. A woman answers the phone, I tell her I'm calling for a delivery. After giving her my phone number and address I give her my order; I wasn't sure if she heard me because she didn't say a word or confirm my order. Instead I hear her talking in the background to someone else. I'm waiting, waiting.....still waiting for her to return. I say loudly "hello??"; this is approximately 2 minutes now. I got frustrated and said forget it and hung up and ordered from another Middle Eastern restaurant not too far away where the workers there are much more professional. To my surprise, an hour later Ruzana's delivery man was at my door!! WTH?!?! If the woman was paying attention, she would have heard me say forget the order. And why in the world would she send an order that was not confirmed? I sent it back. Absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL. I call back asking why did she send the food when I told her forget it, she had no clue with regard to what I was saying. **Insert emoji face palm here** Note to the owner: If you have someone answering the phones for orders - make sure they don't pick up the phone saying 'hello", they need to say the name of your business (at first I thought I had the wrong number). Make sure they speak and understand English well because the woman clearly did not. Never ever everrrrrrr again! read more

I've been here a few times and I'm always satisfied with the food and great service. So glad an authentic spot opened very close to me. The owners are very generous. How this place has anything below 5-star rating is beyond me ..as a shawarma aficionado, I can assure you that this place has the best shawarma in NYC (by far!) plus staff is super friendly ... every time I go to Brooklyn Ruzana is a must! I usually get chicken shawarma, but their meat shawarma is right up there. If you have tried meat shawarma in other places, you'll know that others use heavily salted meat...but Ruzana has great, tender, fresh-tasting meat! ATMOSPHERE: Very casual, you can order and then sit wherever you want. Grab drinks from the fridge and let the cashier know how many you have. Can be noisy at times, not somewhere I would take fussy kids or a first date lol. FOOD: Chicken shawarma sandwich is good, fries are different but good (they have some spices on them). Lamb shawarma is just ok, often dry. Garlic sauce has good flavor, but watery. The tabboule and salad are not good. I recommend switching them out for hummus, which is not the best, but is much better than the coleslaw that they try to give you. SERVICE: Not good, the cashier is rude and can be very dismissive. Especially if you call to order and she can't hear you because the kitchen is loud, she acts annoyed as if you're inconveniencing her. PRICE: Reasonable, I think it's $9.99 for a sandwich with fries and a small side. TLDR: Good option for chicken shawarma sandwich meal, average prices, service is lacking. Cheaper than Karam which is nearby. read more
