Sheel Mashi is a new, vibrant spot that just opened on a bustling corner of little Palestine aka Bay Ridge Brooklyn. The red hot and white LED lights invite you in like a moth to a flame. I was told this is a popular establishment in Kuwait City putting a mix of Lebanese twist out to the masses in Brooklyn now. The best way I would describe this place is a fast casual snack bar - with an intricate menu that is meant to be enjoyed on the go as you go about your day. The establishment was impeccably clean inside when I visited, a long line of bar stools to sit on and wait for or devour your order. Most menu items are reasonably priced and you get a big bang for your buck. Their sandwiches are $7 and so are the smash burgers - an absolute steal in this economy. A freezer full of genocide free Salaam cola greets you. We love a business that is BDS friendly out here. I got the spicy lovers chicken wrap and the mushroom smash burger. Both did not disappoint. I do think the chicken wrap could use more chicken on it, the breading to filling ratio is just slightly off. The flavors were great though especially that sauce - chef's kiss. The mushroom smash burger was also delicious - albeit on the sweeter side. I would love a tangier sauce in this creation. The breading was just a smidge too much, using a slightly smaller bun would be ideal. The cashier was enthusiastic and friendly, and raved about the fries which are thin cut and unique. I ordered a small portion and did not regret it. They are the perfect texture, beautifully salted and very different - I recommend trying them. Some things they could improve on is how long it takes to prepare food. I see this as a late night snack bar more than anything, so they should definitely consider expanding their hours later into the night for all those post-midnight cravings and traffic from the younger, drunker crowd. Other than that I think this business is primed for success, and I'm excited to speedily try more creations off their menu!!

I came here a few times and it's always consistently good. I get any type of shawarma, and tell them double meat with extra sauce. The only issue that I have, is that the sandwiches are a bit small, but thats okay because the quality of the meat is delicious. The woman who took my order was very sweet.

If you're looking for a quick delicious bite! I'd definitely recommend this for you! I ordered the chicken shawarmas & they turned out good! There are other items that looked equally delicious so I'll definitely try that! The place is small and probably better to go!

Went to Sawa for dinner with a group of six on a Friday night, and it was a great dinner. When you…read morewalk in, you are immediately greeted by a giant oven baking fresh pita as well as an open kitchen. There is also an outdoor dining area, as well as a mid-sized dining room and we were seated near the window. Sawa serves Lebanese cuisine with some more modern dishes. Additionally, they have a mostly Lebanese wine list, which gave us an opportunity to try some new wines. We ordered both a red and a white for the table, and I was especially drawn to the red, as the red was served chilled, light-bodied, and very enjoyable. Nearly all of the reds and whites on the menu are from Lebanon, with just one red from Morocco, plus a couple sparkling options from Lebanon as well. We started with several dips for the table: hummus, baba ghannouj, and muhammara. The hummus was incredibly smooth, and the muhammara was especially flavorful with large pieces of walnut throughout. Everyone at the table receives fresh pita, and we ended up ordering a few more to share. We also shared the Brussels sprouts and the snap peas. The Brussels sprouts were rich and flavorful, but the snap peas really stood out. They were unlike anything I have tasted before, intensely mint, served with garlic mint labneh, and very delicious. For mains, we focused on lamb: two orders of the lamb ribs, two orders of the kafta, and two orders of the sfeeha. We probably over-ordered by about one entrée, but otherwise it was the right amount of food for six people. The lamb ribs were phenomenal, fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. The lamb pies were also very good and came with a delicious dipping sauce. The kafta was good, though not quite as memorable as the other lamb dishes, but still very satisfying. Service was attentive throughout the meal, and despite the number of dishes on the table, the staff handled everything smoothly. The table got a little crowded at times, but it was manageable. I would absolutely recommend Sawa, especially for anyone who enjoys trying something a little different. They do classic Lebanese dishes very well, while also offering some creative dishes that feel unique and memorable. I am already looking forward to going back.

Arriving at around 7:30pm most of the tables were full but we were still able to be seated. There's a front area and a back-- originally, they tried to seat us at an awkward 2 person right by the front door, but when we requested a different table, brought us to the back. We opted to share 3 dishes and it ended up being plenty with us boxing up more than half of the final dish to take home. The dishes were: - Mouhamara: Solid dip to start with and the pita that accompanied it was good as well. Any pita beyond 1 does cost extra. - Fattoush: This salad was so good! If you're craving some bright, leafy greens this is the dish. Would order again. - Yakhnet Sabanegh: It was really tasty but I would say portion-wise it felt a little smaller than I would have hoped for the price. I would be borderline on ordering it again-- it was yummy but also I feel like it could be fun to try something different. I also got a red wine to go along with my food and appreciated how the server let me try two different ones before deciding on my glass. I would definitely say that it's more busy earlier in the night as by the time we left at around 9 pm it has mostly cleared out. If you're in the neighborhood, this is definitely a spot worth checking out.

The service was also great with really nice staff. It would be great if they put some more love into the decor and aesthetic. They also don't have a liquor license which seems be out of their control but hopefully they get one soon as proper cocktails would be a great complement to this delicious food.

I have a lot of Pros so i'm gonna start with really the only con. Con: it was pretty loud in the main room. Food: the Dorade and lamb meatballs were both awesome, the Chicken and Saffron butter was great as well. If youre gettting the pita and mezze, get more pita than you'd expect. It's some of the beg pita our family had ever had. The hummus was great but the babaganoush was killlerrrrr. My family had a field day on the syrian cheese and hot honey. I loved the grape leaves and charred eggplant. For dessert, ordered the tiramisu, date sticky pudding, and the rhubarb tart. The date sticky pudding was kind of like a date brownie and the toffee topping was insane. It was so rich and potent. tiramisu was good, but we could have done another Tart. It was so vibrant and refreshing, it was the first to go and if we wouldn't have already been stuffed, we would have ordered another. Service was great, and very accommodating. I can't have sesame seeds, and they took it off of everything we ordered, no mistakes there and much appreciated!
