    My family came here to eat and it was a wonderful experience. I got the lamb and it was so tender it fell right off the bone. The spreads were delicious. The food is pricey but what you pay you will be rewarded with delicious food. The service was great. I forgot the waiters name but he was very personable. Very nice and very knowledgeable of the menu. The restaurant definitely had a family friendly kind of vibe. Mostly adults but it was very pleasant to eat at the restaurant. They offer valet parking.

    More upscale then the usual Greek neighborhood restaurant. Delicious food, big portions, great staff and service, cozy atmosphere. Ladies their signature fig martini is a must!

    I really wanted to like this place. Came here to celebrate a work anniversary. A definite treat yourself kind of evening. Or so we thought... Interior Elia's interiors are thoughtful and beautiful. Feels sophisticated but approachable. They have a nice back patio - last I checked it wasn't open air. Ambiance We were here on a weekday and it was very very loud. Seating could benefit from putting bigger parties away from parties of 2. They clearly have their loyal patrons that they cater to more wholeheartedly. Drinks I'd say skip the cocktails. Not particularly memorable and pricey. They have a large wine selection but I didn't get into that - loudness of restaurant made it hard to think. Food We shared the Fried Calamari and Avgolemono soup. The fried calamari dish was plentiful but probably had 8 pieces of calamari. The rest were random vegetables - literally random. There was one chickpea that got fried. Kind of want to high 5 the fry person. It was a good fry but not what I was expecting. The portion for the soup was LARGE. Like couldn't-finish-it-and-felt-silly-taking-it-home big. I believe they have an appetizer size which wasn't offered - so that could have been better. I went for the lamb shank as an entree. The dish was beautiful visually. One bite out of the orzo and wow super heavy on the tomato's. I actually couldn't eat it - had to steal food from my companion's plate because by the time the food came out I was starving. The lamb was tender but very over seasoned. Disappointing because it was a nice cut of lamb. Reservations Make one. Otherwise get seated by the sad table across the bar that everyone walking in passes by and talks over your food. Waiter A nice person, but didn't seem committed to our table. Clearly there was bigger parties which I understand but we ordered $200 worth of food and drink. Would be nice to be treated like a paying customer.

    Lamb Youvetsi was phrnominal I cant explain you have to tast it

    This is a handsome place. We started by sharing a dish of eggplant & zucchini chips with 2 different sauces. It was very good. The Greek wines we had were excellent. My wife had the grilled shrimp as her main & loved it. I chose the special pork chop dish which came with a mixture of vegetables. Unfortunately, it was overcooked & very tough. Service was very good. The tab was $110 for the food & drinks plus tax & a $4 charge for paying with a credit card.

    My family and I have been going to Elia for years and the food and service always deliver. Highlights are: great cocktails, homemade dips, beet salad, flaming Saganaki, lamb chops and the Branzino is incredible. Their chef also has specials every night. NOW - our favorite part is how much our 2 year old loves the Pita bread and ice cream!

    I came to this restaurant on 2 seperate occasions. When you walk in there is a distinct smell of rotten fish, very offsetting. We got the same waiter both times and we have a very hard time understanding his english. Even when we ask him to repeat what he said it's still hard to decipher. The food is ok. Spanakopita was very oily to the point that you have to pat it down. The bread came out like 20 minutes after we were seated. The salmon in phyllo dough and rice ball were so greasy it was hard to get them down. I'm not exaggerating, they were oil logged. Octopus was a little undercooked. Paella was decent but it was more pretty then tasty. I've had better at local spots. Prices are really high. I paid like $300 for 4 people with no alcohol, just apps and entree, no desert. Came home hungry. I advise you to skip this place.

    My sister in law was allergic to mostly all of the menu, we are group of 3. We already placed an order of $120 dollars of food that night. 2 entrees, 3 appetizers, 3 drinks. We were hungry. After we ordered we asked for extra plate so my sister in law can eat her non contaminated food. Servers smiled and started to help right away. Meanwhile this potbelly guy came over to our small table that really should seat no more than 2 people and complained we were taking up space from people who were "all going to order and eat" together. He made the server uncomfortable. We already placed an order for over $120 dollars of food and drinks but still he has the nerve? We over ordered and got more drinks, expresso, sweets since we planned to celebrate that night, bill coming out close to $200. We didn't let him ruin the night but felt unwelcome the whole time and rushed so he can try to seat 4 people to our small table. Let's be real, this is NOT an upscale place but he really wants it to be without doing the work on it. Dont even have a good picture of food, without all of our arms, napkins, squeezed on the small table. CHEAPO AND DISRESPECTFUL. Not sure if it was the owner, but he had a potbelly and tan, male pattern baldness and very sassy accent. pinkish tucked in shirt. I didnt want to write this until I asked locals and they verified its the owner, which is worse than it being an untrained manager. PICTURES SHOW THIS IS A REAL REVIEW. AND FOOD PORTIONS ARE SMALL PLATED baby food. That greese is all pure CANOLA oil. DRINKS WEAK!! Food service is serivce. We laugh about this memory, this doof.

    If you want authentic Greek cuisine this place is a go to. All of their dishes are amazing! It is just the right amount of food to not be overstuffed but comfortable. I definitely will be back to try more dishes from their menu but their specials are delightful!

    5 stars all around the table!…read more Very tasty Greek restaurant. I saw they had spicy feta dip on the menu and knew this place was going to be good. There were a lot of good options to choose From so it was hard to narrow it down. Mix of traditional Greek dishes and new takes. We landed on these- Spanakopita Falafels Greek chicken soup Chilled beets Ribeye Souvlaki Baklava The ribeye was so tender and everything dipped in the tzatziki was superb. The Greek chicken soup was also a flavor bomb not your typical chicken soup. This one has dill, lemon, rice, vegetables...life in a bowl. They have an extensive drink menu as well and are open late into the night. I would definitely come here again!

We ordered quite a few dishes, and the octopus was definitely one of my favorites--such a generous portion with two huge tentacles! The branzino and squid ink seafood pasta were also delicious. The pita chips were crispy and nicely seasoned with herbs, while the moussaka was rich, hearty, and packed with layers of bold Mediterranean flavors. The crispy fries with garlic oil were another hit. The cocktails were creative and impressive, and we ended with the Galaktoboureko for dessert. The creamy semolina custard wrapped in phyllo was delicious, although a little sweet for my taste. Next time, I'd probably go for the Loukoumades with Nutella pistachio sauce instead. Service was solid throughout--our waiter was friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, a fun spot with great food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere for a birthday celebration!

Athena is a quaint little place with friendly staff like Stavros (I hope that's how he spells it). For an appetizer, we ordered the dip trio with hummus (which was so creamy and delicious), spicy whipped feta, and tzatziki, which was honestly the star of the trio. Stavros was also kind enough to bring us more pita bread to finish our dips! I ordered the Lamb Souvlaki, and it was amazing. Juicy and sizable cuts of lamb dipped in more tzatziki on top of a bed of fluffy rice pilaf. It's a hefty plate so I only ate about half and took the rest back to my hotel. I hope I can eat the other half before I leave! I'm also hoping there's a place in Raleigh, where I live, that can match this experience. What's not pictured is the baklava dessert, which was quickly demolished by the three of us. It was originally meant for me only, but my partner and his best friend couldn't resist multiple bites. If you love Mediterranean food and you're in New York, add this place to your list. Well worth the trip. And also ask about the "Windex" shots (;

It's a small business, where the owner is actually there and serving the guests. He told us about the dishes, the ingredients, the restaurants history, his mother's recipes, and clearly took immense pride in his profession. One part of that pride is how he makes a point of not rushing you. This is possibly the rarest trait of all when it comes to nyc restaurants, who normally function from the perspective "i want as many butts in seats as i can, as quickly as possible". I can't recommend it enough for that reason alone (the food was also amazing). I left feeling relaxed and full, rather than feeling like a bloated sheep being herded that feels sick from eating too fast.
