My husband and I have been waiting for a good coffee shop to open in Mission Hill, and have been loving Solid Ground! Coffee is always fantastic, food is delicious, and Keith + Lucia (the owners) are always the absolute sweetest. There isn't a lot of seating, but we haven't had problems in the past finding a table - people seem to be in and out pretty regularly, if they aren't taking it to-go. Discovered this restaurant when I stayed at a nearby hotel. Was looking for a place that I could get a simple breakfast and good cup of coffee. Solid Ground met the criteria. The cafe limited number of customers at one time due to Covid. Food is takeout only so if you're looking for a place to drink or eat, this is not for you. I ordered a bagel and egg sandwich which was well prepared and tasty. Coffee was freshly brewed and good as well. Although it's not a standard item on the menu, I was able to get a decaf Americano. Good food and service. I would return if I'm in the area. read more

I've had the cappuccino here, the pastries and the breakfast sandwiches. The food and coffee are good. The coffee is roasted a bit on the acidic side for my taste, but your mileage may vary. The staff is nice, and the decor is simple but cute. read more

Awesome cafe! The staff is friendly and quick, and they have a nice variety of sandwich and breakfast offerings. This morning I got a latte (which actually has some foam on it, nice!) and two of the honey butter biscuits with strawberry jam, which I highly recommend. Love this place!! I've gone every Saturday morning since they've opened. The Cereal Milk Latte is SO delicious! Create your own breakfast sandwich (the Wake Up sandwich) is incredible especially on the brioche. The menu is is really creative and the space is so cool, exactly what the neighborhood needed. My boyfriend and I are typically repeat customers of this cafe, grabbing breakfast here around twice a week. We had an experience today that completely soured our overall feelings of the restaurant. I placed an online order for 2 sandwiches and 1 coffee at noon. My boyfriend went to pick it up at 12:30 as we were told to upon ordering, and we didn't receive our order until 1:00 PM. He watched other people constantly order and get served before our food was ready. My name on the order was wrong, and it was under my last instead of my first when BOTH were on the order. I understand that misunderstandings and mistakes happen, but I work for an establishment VERY similar to this, and when a customer is waiting that long and asking what's up 20+ times as he did something further should be done by the employees to fix the problem. They did not try to help him solve the issue at all. I don't believe we'll be returning anymore at all. read more

I love Solid Ground! The owners are super nice and always come up with great lattes of the month. My favorite foods there are the rock solid sandwich and the mini babingka. Whenever people ask me for coffee or food recommendations in the area, I always tell them to go to solid ground. read more

Super good. I had an incredible latte here. Their coffee is just delicious. And it gives me a really nice, calming energy. The sandwich (Lucia) I got here was very good as well. I watched them make it and noticed that they seem quite hygienic. All food items were covered, gloved hands, cap on, and the employee did not rush. One of the best coffees I've ever had, definitely beating out Starbucks. read more

We were visiting the Mission Hill neighborhood this morning and were looking for somewhere to get a good cup of coffee and something to eat. We stopped in at Solid Ground Cafe at Brigham Circle, and boy, are we glad we did!! They have a very extensive menu with lots to choose from, a huge variety of breakfast sandwiches, lunch items, and lots of great coffees, lattes, etc. The items we had were delicious, breads were awesome, and coffee was terrific! The decor for this adorable shop is perfect, and most importantly, the staff is VERY FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT!! If you live or work in the neighborhood, we highly recommend you visit Solid Ground. I know it's going to end up at the top of your list of go-to establishments in the area!! We will definitely be back. Reasonable prices, too. read more

Great local cafe with unique drinks and sweets. They also offer breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Their homemade ube (purple yam) pie is amazing and their monthly lattes are also quite good. The past two months' were black sesame and starwberries and cream lattes and they were very well made. read more
