Disappointing. Had high hopes for their breakfast menu given they open early enough on the weekend. But- The iced kulfi latte was more of a milkshake. In fact as a milkshake I would've rated it much higher. But not really a "coffee" latte. The salmon in the smoked salmon sandwich was a little funky in a couple of places. That's never a good sign. And the tomato and lettuce just didn't go well. Maybe capers and onions would be better? The banana pudding had a strong banana essence flavor. Some people might enjoy that I suppose. Small coffee shop in the South End. Good amount of seating for the space, definitely gets packed when people come to study here! I have had a few different coffees from here, but all of them have been way too sweet for me. If you prefer sweet coffee then you'll probably like it here. This is such an aesthetic cafe if you can look past the construction currently outside of the building. The ambiance inside is quite nice, and I'd come here to get some work done or hang out. I love Jaho at 665 Washington. I came to this location, 1651 Washington by accident. It has the same offerings I presume. This location is much smaller but still has a variety of seating options including traditional tables, booth style pubs, counter level seats, and one window seat. It is easier to find a seat here than at the 665 Washington location. I ordered a focaccia sandwich with bacon and eggs. I wanted avocado, but they didn't have any fresh. The sandwich was ok but very skimpy bacon. I spent $10 on a sandwich that had maybe 1.5 pieces of bacon. So, the value for your dollar is below average here. I also ordered a red velvet hot chocolate, which is nothing short of amazing. I travel over 30 minutes just for the red velvet hot chocolate. The service could have been more friendly. No one wants to walk into a cafe to do a couple of hours of work when the service is stale. It cheapens the experience. read more

Jaho is nice place in Boston. The coffee is as expected and they have a wide variety of drinks. From coffee to teas and even boba, there's definitely some thing for everyone to try. I like Jaho for their fun drinks. They have a lot of flavors and ways you can customize to make drinks dairy free. They always have seasonal lattes and specialty drinks which I would highly recommend when you explore. I haven't tried too much from their food menu. A lot of their sandwiches have meats or cheese and you don't get to swap anything for free if you are trying to adapt for food allergies. It can make customizing a bagel or sandwich kind of expensive (~$12) to the point where I'd rather just go somewhere else for a more filling meal. That said, I do love their basic bagels and just add hummus or peanut butter. Jaho is definitely more of a beverage place for me. The inside of the store is very trendy and hip. When I can, I sit inside to enjoy my drink, do a bit of work, and people watch. There is a decent amount of indoor seating and also some tables outside. It's close to the Boston Medical and the Boston University medical campus, making it a great option for students and employees in the area. They have many options for milk substitutions (soy, almond, coconut, macadamia, the list goes on), but as many of the reviewers pointed out, the menus have no prices and my order ended up being pricier than I expected. For a small cake/cookie thing and a small hot chocolate, my total came close to $9. This pricing is similar to other bougie cafes in the area, but Jaho doesn't really give off "bougie" vibes to me. Continuing on the theme of mixed opinions, the red velvet hot chocolate I tried was super delicious. It was as red as a cherry starburst, but it wasn't too sweet and had a nice flavor. Unfortunately, the honey cake I tried was super dry, cold, and tasted kind of undercooked? It reminded me of the weird baking experiments I used to do when I was in elementary school (and I was not good at baking). We were early for a dinner reservation in the area and decided to walk around and found jaho! My friend had the peach pie chai. It was very tasty!!! I had their number one most popular. I can't remember what it was called. I think my drink had pistachio cardamom and something foam. I can't remember but it was great. It was very strong in herby taste. My daughter had green tea ice cream and it was tasty. The place was very chiccc and very cute and had a nice ambiance to it. The set up with all the food drinks and bakery's was very lovely. I definitely like this location and will meet here for lattes when near or in the area. Their drink menu were so interesting and I think my daughter will love the smoothies here. Stopped in the other day with Sister in Law for the Hubbys Birthday, she had brought over a piece of cake one time from Jaho (The Chocolate) and he loved it, so we top secret went to go get a piece for his Birthday (we dont need a whole cake laying around - COVID has already made us fat enough) So I didnt realize how cool the place is and how much they served, I thought it was Coffee & Cake... so I walk in & am right away confused, THERE ARE TOO MANY CAKE OPTIONS... so I bought them all. Strawberry (OMG it was like the old school Strawberry Crunch Ice Creams minus the ice cream, but it was crunchy & delish on the edge) A PB cake, A Flan, The chocolate, and an Oreo Cake. Then the girl working there, Who I think might have been the BEST Person I have EVER ENCOUNTERED in Customer Service, she literally was climbing up on the counter to read tea ingredients to me... I LOVE tea, but Im kinda plain in my love, Black (hint of Vanilla or Caramel) and thats about it. OMG she found me teas I love, was reading me & the SIL all the ingredients in all the Zodiacs, she was all over the place with the greatest personality and just a great spirit, I seriously want to be friends IRL with this girl. I really like this cafe and would probably hang out here if it weren't a pandemic! I've enjoyed a couple of their lattes, a bubble tea, salmon bagel and spinach pie. The drinks were REALLY sweet. I liked them, but I prefer drinks with little to no sweetness at all. The flavoring for the drinks come from syrups and powders making it impossible to reduce the sweetness. I love that Jaho offers Milkadamia Milk as a non-dairy option. The salmon bagel was yummy. The bagel was nice and chewy. The Jaho employee who helped me with it was generous with the toppings. It was so filled that I had a hard time fitting a bite in my mouth! I also enjoyed the spinach pie. They warmed it up for me but it wasn't heated all the way through. I ate half of it on my way home and then heated the other half in my toaster oven. It was better at home because all of the feta cheese and spinach were melted together. I've been there twice, and both times the drinks have been gross, and they given me the wrong drink. The first time, over the summer, I grabbed an iced green tea - no sweetener no refreshers. Super simple. They gave me my order with a pound of sugar, and it tasted anything but refreshing. Asked them to fix it. Could tell they were annoyed, but it wasn't what I ordered. Second time, they were the only place opened that had coffee, so I ordered a small vanilla latte. No extras nothing fancy. She laughed and said she made me a large, and said something else, and I just took it - because I figured it was just the wrong size. She straight up made the wrong drink. The after taste was so sour, and once again it was so overly sweet. I was close to my place, and didn't want to walk back - so I pitched it in the bin. Overall I really like this spot, the staff are helpful which is great cause I'm indecisive. I like their selection of music and great ambiance. You will never go wrong with a boba tea from here. And I especially love the hot taro milk tea when it's cold out. I loveeee their selection of cakes, I remember being thrilled when I saw they had a citrus olive oil cake because I never see that anywhere. I got a chicken Caesar wrap a couple of times and my only thing is I think they should add more Caesar dressing cause it's a little bit dry with the amount they usually put. Jaho has excellent sandwiches made with their focaccia bread. Definitely recommend to have it toasted! If you can't decide on what to get, ask River. She recommended a drink for me, and it was great! This place has great coffee, good food, and today we even tried the soft serve ice cream. I tried the cappuccino soft serve, which was very good, and my kids tried the vanilla, which they said was very good.
