We were staying near northeastern University and found this sweet little coffee shop. Our coffee was delicious and our breakfast sandwiches were on point.

Breakfast sandwich with added bacon
Khat ..

What a great surprise! The breakfast sandwich had the right amount of heat, with my added bacon of course. Amazing. I don't even like sandwiches, and I ate this whole thing up, believe that! The iced coffee, great! Really a delightful surprise, and will be sure to add in my bookmarks for my future Boston trips. Super affordable too, which is another great treat since everything is so marked up now these days. I would love to try the other things in the menu. My sister said her turkey sandwich was also delicious.

Stipe here for the first time, ordered a brioche breakfast sandwich. Turkey sausage, egg and spinach, comes with spicy sauce but I asked for it on the side. Resonantly priced. The interior design is artistic, roomy and welcoming. Definitely a spot to chill for a burrito, bowl air sandwiches.

Pacman Sandwich soooo good!

Omg!! Get the Pacman sandwich. Really you'll need two if you're hungry or an adult.:) that's the only negative size. I inhaled this sandwich. So much that i only took the picture at the halfway point. Great flavor. Tastes like a pulled pork southern sandwich made with love.

Great place to come on an 8 degree day with all the bright sunshine and warm service. Good food and comfy spot. Worth riding the bus to.

I went there for brunch and it was really cute! There is an area where you can eat outside and enjoy the sun. The inside was nice, open, and inviting. They even had a live music inside. The atmosphere is super chill and their egg sandwiches are. I would definitely recommend those. After you order, you can grab a seat and they will call your name. The owner called my name wrong and my friends laughed and he was super embarrassed and insisted on knowing the correct prononciation. I thought that was super nice! Definitely check it out!

Cafe Bonjour - Strawberry and banana crepe

Thick-cut…read morebread, perfectly soft inside with a slight crisp on the edges, and loaded with Nutella without being overly messy. The strawberries and banana balanced it out so it didn't feel too heavy. Portion size was solid--borderline dessert-for-breakfast, but in a good way. Coffee was decent, nothing crazy. Place is small and gets packed, so expect a wait. Overall: great spot if you want something sweet and indulgent for brunch.

I stopped by in the early afternoon this past Monday with my top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality. This establishment is pretty close to a prior Airbnb we've stayed at and is in a neighborhood we've spent a solid amount of time in, so it's been off and on our radar for a few years. I'm pretty sure we attempted to stop by on an earlier trip but it was too busy - a tribute to the restaurant for sure. Two elements stood out to me almost immediately when we walked in, one good, one bad. On a positive note, the service was excellent - that came across in waves. This is a busy restaurant in a tourist area, and nine out of 10 times, the hospitality would suffer as a result. Not here; we were warmly received as soon as we walked in and were consistently attended to throughout our visit. Top notch in that regard. Con? Personal preference on my end, it just felt kind of grimy in there, like it had taken on the personality of its neighborhood, which is in my opinion not the best and has a homeless issue. There's definitely some personality in there - some gorgeous wood paneling and whatnot - but it was a little too chaotic/claustrophobic for me. I think there's a way they could upgrade the interior without compromising the uniqueness of Cafe Bonjour. I was at the part of our mini-vacation where I didn't necessarily have regrets over my food naughtiness, but my palate definitely needed some legitimate nourishment. I opted for the Signature Blueberry Bowl,, which predictably featured a great many blueberries, and was essentially an acai bowl interpretation with bananas and peanut butter (similar to the Acai Power Bowl at Playa Bowls). It was fine - good portion for what it was. I think they should have made it more...solid, if that makes sense. Like make the blended blueberry aspect quasi frozen so it had more substance to it. Without doing so, it just seemed too liquidy and harder to eat as a result. It was also a little bland and could have used an additional ingredient or two, and the hunks of peanut butter were difficult to blend into the bowl, so sometimes you'd end up inadvertently getting nothing but a mouthful of peanut butter. Not the best, but also probably not their biggest menu selling point. For what it's worth, my chum loved her dish (I think she got the Bennies) and enjoyed her time here immensely. This is one I'd like a do-over on and would be more than willing to come back with a better appetite and revisit - I don't know that my opinions on the vibe/atmosphere are going to change (though maybe some of that is dependent on the weather and this place really shines when the sun is out), but I probably didn't get the best that Cafe Bonjour has to offer.

When we checked in with the hostess and asked for bar seating, she said they have two reservations that requested bar seating and those seats are being held for them. I informed her we are probably one of those requests. She checked again and simply replied "we have a table for you". Ok, fine. When we get to the table, it is wobbling back and forth. The place was crazy busy and we didn't feel like flagging someone down to deal with it, so my wife and I just sat with our feet on the base the whole time and that held it steady enough. We then ordered a couple glasses of wine. They are NOT shy about the prices here. Each glass costs between $15-19, and the pours were small. We'd guess either 4 or 5 ounces. We ordered Foie Gras as an app. When it arrived, we asked for some bread to go with it. To our surprise, when the bill came, they charged us an extra $3 for the bread. When you order a $27 app, and two dinners each costng over $50, to add $3 for bread seems a bit petty. I ordered the skirt steak medium rare and it came out bloody rare. My wife ordered the scallops. They were served in a broth that was loaded with salt. Ruined the whole dish. All in with tax and tip, we dropped $250. For that price, this was a disappointment and we had wished we dined elsewhere.

Apparently it's no secret because there was a pretty long line when we got there on a Saturday morning. But don't get discouraged because it moves fairly quickly and the staff seems to know what they're doing. They have lots of delicious baked goods to choose from and all the fancy coffees. I got the almond croissant and it was among the best I've had. The next day I actually went back and picked up a pistachio croissant, which I never had before but was also delicious. The people I was with also enjoyed it and the local people I was with said they go all the time. The prices were fair considering quality and location. It's quite large but expect a line and you may have to look hard to scam a table when it's busy. But overall you should definitely go here.

So, be prepared - you're going to pay more than you may realize. One star removed for the 29% fee (I could see one surcharge, not both)! Cocktails were inventive, and very good. Our food was beautifully plated and presented. We started with a few orders of the grilled artichokes. They were nicely charred, but a touch too oily. The dipping sauces added great flavor. I had the grilled salmon, which was perfectly cooked. Accompanied by quinoa, a tzatziki with radishes? This was one super flavorful and elegant plate! Others had the risotto, swordfish, or the fusilli (with no sausage). We all agreed - the food was really good. The desserts? Fab-u-lous; we tried them all. Favorites were either the chocolate pot au crème of the bread pudding, with 1 vote for the cheesecake. Even with live music, we could easily talk since we were in the @front" room, with the bar. Seating in the room with the stage might make conversation less possible.
