I so want to like this place. But every time we come back, I remember why I'm always disappointed. I like the aesthetics better here, but the food at Salata is much better. We started with the original Snappy on Forest. We moved, so switched to the one on Parkwood. We've also visited the one on Park a few times, and the one at Northpark a few times. Several issues: 1) I've got no problem paying for quality ingredients. But the price/value ratio always feels off here. The amount you get of each item is SO small. And the variety of ingredients is not as vast as it appears at first (compare to Salata, for example). Also, never anything local or unusual. Same-old same old. I got the crispy chicken and noticed that it seems processed now -- just like the chicken breasts at places like Chilis or Applebees. I don't know exactly HOW it's been processed, but check it out -- when you cut it open, it doesn't look like a chicken breast that you buy and cook yourself. Definitely NOT what I want, ever, especially in a place that likes to cloak itself in a green halo. 2) The service is so often clumsy and inept. There were three customers in the store yesterday, SIX staffers behind the counter and they still struggled to get the salads assembled. It's weird. Places like Chuys do an amazing job of hiring. They nearly always have servers who are high-energy, smart, focused on making it all right for the customer. I know it's a tip-driven model, but still. And then you have places like Snappy, who cannot seem to hire and keep people like that. OK, I get it -- it's basically salad as fast food. But Snappy's nowhere near as good at McDonald's at teaching their seemingly disposable hires "the system", so they make a lot of operational flubs. They mess up to go orders, have to remake salads on the line, etc., etc. 3) I'm tired of the self-congratulatory bragging this place does about how environmental it is. OK, you use cups and straws from recycled sources, I get it. And you use efficient light bulbs. But there's a lot more to carbon footprint than that. Tell us about the carbon footprint associated with your ingredients, and your water conservation, and so on -- then I'll take it seriously. Until then, my take is that every new Snappy seems less and less focused on green, and more and more focused on gr$$n. read more

We tried snappy salads today for the first time, to start the menu is somewhat confusing and the people taking your order can't even hear you when you ask them a question. But what annoyed me is that there's something that looks like a special/combo on one of their blackboard (picture) and it is not ...so when I ordered I asked: Does the the Greek salad come with that? Pointing to the board the person says yes but I had the feeling he didn't hear me and was humoring me, so they prepare the Greek salad I get to the cashier and noticed they didn't include the fideo soup or the bread as described on the board (see picture), the cashier says (with a condescending tone) "oh noo that's not included that's only a suggestion of what you can pair it with" . LOL! I was oh ok then the board is very confusing. I would say that is almost false advertising. Anyway, I didn't appreciate the attitude of the employees and the salad was very acidic and with a very small portion of chicken. We are definitely not going back. read more

i typically don't keep receipts from fast-dining establishments but snappy salads is my only exception. if i ever come back, i'm asking for that receipt. and i'm going to add it to a pile of other receipts documenting many instances of being overcharged. and i am going to toss that pile of receipts with a cup of my own tears and it will be a sadness salad representative of all my experiences here. the only way to order at this infernal place is to get exactly what's on the menu, no substitutions, no additions. and god have mercy on your soul if you try to create your own salad because some of the toppings actually count for 2 toppings but figuring out which ones is like an entire sidequest. so here's the thing: the various types of chicken available are all priced the same- $2.31 for a half-snap, $4.62 for the full- so ostensibly, you can swap out. say, if you prefer the buffalo chicken in your cobb salad. but rest assured, the staff definitely won't communicate this to one another, and your order will definitely be rung up as if you've doubled up on your chicken quota. the first couple of times i was charged upwards of a million dollars for two salads, i was a bit puzzled, but assumed that i am not very good at math and carried on with my day. the last time, i finally overcame my learning disability and requested my receipt. charged an extra $4.62 for no apparent reason. when i asked the cashier, she explained that my salad-maker described my order as "cobb salad with buffalo chicken," so naturally it was perfectly clear that i had purchased all the chicken in the world and should be upcharged accordingly. "you have to tell us that you replaced the chicken," she admonished me. then she turned to her manager and tattled like we were first graders tripping each other on the playground: "she didn't tell me she replaced the chicken." then she refunded me $2.31. i apologized for continuing to be a hassle, and pointed out that i wasn't refunded the entire overcharge amount. "i thought you had a half-size," she sighed, returning to her computer screen as if i had laid the burdens of the entire planet on her shoulders. in what insane world does the cashier of a restaurant not recognize the sizes of salads they offer- THERE ARE ONLY TWO. oh it must be the same veritable twilight zone that places the burden of poor employee communication on the customer. or the same backwards universe that proclaims "BEST CHEAP EATS" on the bag of a restaurant that charges $18.25 for a beef salad. "next time, please tell us," the cashier says pleadingly to me by means of a farewell. as if it was my nefarious plot all along to observe silently, knowingly watching them ring up the wrong things, deeply hoping to seed chaos in the salad line. because i'm spineless and probably genetically apologetic, i tell her i'm sorry for the confusion. BUT I'M NOT REALLY SORRY. because y'all have probably wrung enough unwarranted upcharges from my unsuspecting wallet to pay for the extra 10 minutes of training it would take your team to figure out how to successfully communicate to each other. in the meantime, i will be diverting my funds to more cost-effective salads, i.e. sweeping out the dismal remains of my refrigerator's humidity drawers. read more

So, i've drove by hungry with the wife, saw this place ran to YELP and checked reviews. Saw the 4 stars and said to my self, awesome ! a new healthy place in town.... Without Bashing or "crying" i will give my honest opinion, it was horrible.... we came in i read the menu and it looked awesome. I am jewish and eat kosher, therefore i dont mix dairy products with meet products. That being said i decided to order a half steak sandwich to take home (later) and a cob salad to eat on the spot. i went to order, asked for the sandwich, asked if i could have it without the cheese, they replied "sorry sir, it is frozen pre-made" i was like "huh, this is a healthy place no, u server frozen food"??? ok, move on. i said no to the steak and ordered the salad, only asked with no cheese and no bacon, they said sure and if i want to substitute, i said sure thank you ill take black olives instead... now i am no food critic, nor a chef, but i order Cobb salad almost every day at work, several other places it always come with ranch dressing (or at least an awesome white creamy sauce). the salad came with vinaigrette. i asked are u sure this is how it suppose to be? they said "this is how the original cobb is made" i had no idea if its true or not... moving on - close to the cash register i noticed they have nan bread with guac.. i said, awesome. this can be instead of the steak... i asked for one. the girt said sure, in the meanwhile i went to pay.... the guy told me 26$, i said did u include the nan? he replied "oh, we are out of nan i just sold the last one" i said "but the girl said ok" then we both see the girl come and guess what? with a freaking frozen nan from a freaking "walmart" bag. he told her to go put it back, and that it is frozen and no way will be ready in 2 minutes. i was kinda angry that every freaking thing is frozen!!! i asked for a soda drink, and only to find out they dont have coke products!!! no pepsi, no diet coke, no nothing. only DR pepper... Not too shabby. It was packed in here, but they kept the line moving very quickly. I love how the long tables have purse hooks underneath. They also use recycled products which is a plus. I wisely read the Yelp reviews before coming here so I was expecting a heftier price tag. I ordered the grilled avocado salad recommended from the reviews. First off, it's huge. The bowls here are ginormous, I could stick my entire face in the bowl if I wanted to. They grill the avocado to order and the warm corn relish is fantastic. But for a salad it was really heavy. I feel like it's a waste to eat salad and feel heavy after, I might as well have eaten fried chicken or something satisfyingly fattening. Next time I'll definitely make my salad to order. I've been to Salata before and heard folks talk about Snappy Salads, so I finally decided to give it a try. What a disappointment. As opposed to Salata where you can get unlimited ingredients, Snappy has pre-configured salad options, in addition to a 'create your own,' which only includes a fixed number of ingredients. The salads didn't look appetizing to me, so I ordered the Santa Fe Chicken Wrap. This was designated 'customer favorite' on the menu, so figured it'd be a safe choice. A few issues: 1) employee pulled the wrap out of a cooler (pre-made). Kind of surprising, as I thought it'd be like Salata where they make the wrap in front of you fresh. 2) employee asked if I wanted potato chips? I said no, it says on the menu it comes with chips and salsa, so that's what I want. Not sure why that wasn't just assumed? When I see the container, it had a bunch of tortilla chip scraps in it vs. whole chips - very stingy with this so called 'side of chips and salsa' 3) employee at the register started putting everything into a to-go bag, even though I planned to dine-in and never once was asked whether I want it as dine-in or to-go. Had to politely say this was dine-in. 4) tons of empty bowls and trash at the tables waiting to be bussed 5) similar to torchy's, they have some kind of local soda offering vs. coca-cola products. Would prefer just standard coca-cola fountain options 6) pre-made wrap did not taste fresh at all. It tasted almost identical to the "southwest chicken wrap" in the quiktrip pre-made section, only Snappy Salad charged twice as much Overall, I think these 'fad' salad places are really overrated in general. The ones that are filling are almost as unhealthy as other dining options by the time you add all the cheeses dressings, etc. Salata just opened up across the Tollway, and next time I do want this type of food, I will definitely go to Salata. It seems fresher, better value, and the food line is cleaner and more organized. read more

Great selection of options to add to salad, info for the full snap (larger option) with spinach, eggs, quinoa, carrots, black beans, beets, bell peppers, and a half of an avocado, with a light sprinkle of chipotle lime dressing....it's amazing! This place is awesome for salads! I love the atmosphere and even the half order fills you up. Kenny is a new worker here and he is absolutely fantastic. He works really hard and fixes any problem until you are completely satisfied. He had a positive attitude and a heart to serve. His coworker, Natalie, is a different story. She had an attitude from the start and was reluctant to fix mistakes. She acted like she just couldn't be bothered and it put a damper on the experience. She was also very impatient with her coworkers especially Kenny which I saw as unfair because he is new and anything in the food industry can be a bit overwhelming. The salad is great though and my experiences here have been mostly positive so they deserve 4 stars. read more

Had a terrible experience. Walked in and greeted by unfriendly workers. Yea, what would you like. I had a girl wait on me and I asked for the baked potato the answer I received were out as she crossed her arms and just looked into space. Not sorry we are out would you like something else. When you ask questions it was a bother. My wife got the potato soup that had no potatoes in it. We asked for the sour dough bread which they were out. Again no offer of what they had or suggestions. We took what ever bread they had and asked for garlic butter the readily available were out answer came out quick. We asked for another spread and out again. Finally I learned to ask what is available. We ended up with a tasteless very cold steak wrap with some soggy stale crushed/crumbs ( I think) potato chips. the best part was the warm bread. Now after your order is placed the next question should be would you like something to drink. No, he was more content to lean on the counter and look at you. We ordered drinks and I took the food to the table. I hear my wife ask do you hand me the cups or do I just take what I want? 20.00 bucks for bland wrap . Great service and great food! The grilled avocado salad is delicious and the grilled corn tops it off perfectly. The manager was very helpful and the employees were very mindful to my wife's food allergy. Another plus is the large options they have in terms of dressings. They have something for everyone and each one is unique and very flavorful. All of the greens were perfect, nothing wilted, or dying which is very important when you want a crispy salad. The prices here are a little higher but they really deliver with quality so it feels and tastes worth it. Oh my goodness I liked this place! Snappy Salads was just the ticket when my friend and I were looking for a healthy, yet delicious, place to grab lunch when out shopping. Located conveniently right by Willow Bend Mall and the Dallas North Tollway, its a breeze to find. The menu was mostly salads (wow, doesn't take a genius to guess that). They do have some sandwiches, wraps, and other non salad options to pick from, but I think the salad are the real winner and show stopper. Pick from a gazillion tasty and fresh flavor combinations and your salad will be made to order right before your eyes. There is a bevy of flavorful toppings to choose from, and you can fully customize your salad by adding (or subtracting) from the options listed in the standard version of each dish. The ordering process feels a little like Subway Sandwiches, so its very easy to order and make a salad that is truely one of a kind. I had the small Grilled Advocado Salad and it was both delicious and very very filling. I highly recommend it. If I had opted for the large size, it could have easily been two meals. My friend ordered a wrap and she was also very happy with her meal. We both had the lemonade cookies, and **Oh my goodness** they are tasty!! I could have eaten like 50. This place was really busy at lunch time, but the line moved quickly, so it wasn't really a problem. For "Salads so Good Even Men Like Them" you have to give Snappy Salads a try!!! Consistently poor customer service. Outstanding salads. Poor execution of customer service. Everyone working here is confused, rushed and disengaged with the customer they are serving. I'm assuming this starts with the management. There needs to be serious overhaul in this area. I live in a different state. I've been here 3x and 2 of those times I have been overcharged with no apology and an almost irritated attitude that I would question them. Here's a small indication the service is a bit off. When the guy preparing my salad told me he would add my goat cheese I requested for last, I didn't mind. But someone else took over my salad and the goat cheese was forgotten. So I said, " wait he forgot the goat cheese", and the guy now serving me says "goat cheese counts as two toppings and you are already at 8". I clarify that I was at 7 and told the goat cheese would be put on last". To the cashier he says: "charge her for the extra" and to me he says "just for next time know the goat cheese counts as two" Here's the problem: how is it my problem you guys aren't keeping track of what topping number I'm on and how is it my problem the guy first serving me didn't let me know it counts as 2? Also "just for next time know the goat cheese counts as two" is not a good response to a customer. It's not my responsibility to remember for next time. It's YOUR responsibility. See I'm choosing to spend $12 on a soup and salad at your establishment it's my not my job to do your job and remember goat cheese is 2 toppings especially when I'm from out of town. There needs to be a better way of keeping tally of customers topping number and a clear list or tag that indicates what counts as 2. In the end the cashier charged me for 2 extra add-on from the allowed 8 when in reality it should have only been 1. (When in actuality it should have been 0) Oh and the poor lady in front of me was completely ignored when we were in line. She said to me "the lady skipped over me. She won't even make eye contact with me". To which I bluntly and loudly got the lady's attention who was just standing there and told her the lady was before me and had not been served. This is by far my favorite place for lunch! There can be a line out to the sidewalk, but they are always quick, accurate and efficient. My personal favorite is the Bam-Bam or I create my own! I really like this place, a lot. I visit about once or twice a week. The salads are creative and delicious and the ingredients are always fresh and good quality. If you order a baked potato, it really does come FULLY loaded, no scrimping, boyfriend says they are the best loaded baked potatoes in town. The atmosphere is casual and down to earth. There is also a patio for nice days outside. The only reason i didn't give a full 5 stars is because the staff could use a lesson in friendliness. We are rarely greeted, and process of ordering or building a salad is pretty lackluster and dry. But despite the lack of friendly conversation, I love this place! read more

I've been going to Snappy Salads in Plano consistently for the last few months. Ingredients are always fresh and prices are reasonable. They have a great atmosphere, and even during busy lunch rushes, you know you can get in and out quickly. On my last visit there was an issue with my order and I had some suggestions for the manager. He came out from behind the counter and took the time to speak with me and listen to my feedback. He then went in the back and made me one of the best lunches I have ever had, himself. As I was walking out, he shook my hand and thanked me for my business. As we spoke he told me about his plans for the location and what they are doing to improve the business. Friday was my first time to eat here. I loved it! I had the salmon dill salad. The salmon was wild caught, the greens were fresh, and the dressing was delicious. I was also impressed by the absence of artificial sweeteners. Stevia and truvia were offered. The plastic cups are biodegradable and the straws are paper. The man on the counter gave me some rude instructions yesterday evening around 6:30 PM before ordering which is you're a tall man so don't cross your fingers the glass bar on the side when pointing the ingredients. Then he told we tell this to all tall people and there is no nice way to say. WTF..? Why Snappy have a weird instruction for their paying customers. Even before I entering the line shouting with weird instructions is a lowball. I have been to other Snappy locations and they never told me this. For as often as my husband and I eat here, you would think their service would be better. If you're going to come here, know that it is only for the food. The food is delicious and fresh and healthy and makes you want to come back. The staff are another story. First, it is very rare that I see someone working here for more than a month. While this seems silly, we eat here frequently - multiple times a week, and employee turnaround like this means employees don't always know the proper protocol for the way these salads are made. I have completely given up on ordering from this location online because they will always forget something or not do it exactly as you submit the order. I, for a while, would go out of my way to go to a farther away location to not have to go to this one because even giving instructions face-to-face was a challenge. I have even placed an order through door dash on multiple occasions that have been messed up. Although one part was my fault, there were still mistakes made on the half of the restaurant. After tonight, my to go order that was placed in person was not done correctly. (Although partial blame is on my husband for not checking everything, it is also the fault of the restaurant for not including everything that belongs in a salad. I am not sure how I am supposed to eat a salad when the dressing is still at the restaurant.) All in all, come for the great salad. My husband and I are frequent visitors to this Snappy Salad location and have always been pleased with the salads. Our favorite is the make your own snap with fried artichokes on top.!! However, the last couple of visits, we have been disappointed in the quality of the lettuces and some of the toppings. The lettuces were turning brown and looking past their prime, which was disappointing. Hope the mgmt. notices and gets this handled. read more

I'm really a sucker for specialty restaurants but I did not enjoy my experience at this one. The overall theme was nice, and they had plenty of menu options to feed anyone that was willing to try a salad. The problem I have with this place was that they seemed unprepared. They ran out of baby tomatoes and my date did not find this out until she had already ordered that style of salad. My salad and the customer's salad after me both had shredded chicken in the recipe and I got the last bag of chicken so she had to order something else. Later while we were going down the salad bar line they told the customer after me that they were out of ranch dressing which in my opinion is absolutely unacceptable for a salad only restaurant. Once I sat down to eat my salad I realize that my salad had just been layered in the order of the ingredients that it came with and had not been tossed at all; the same with my date'a salad. After I tossed the salad myself I realize that this was still a very delicious salad. Then as I was chewing I heard loud crack which was the sound of me chewing and breaking a shell, luckily no teeth were harmed but that could have been bad. I wish I could give a 3.5. This place is good, but $11 for salad and a drink is a little hard to stomach. All the veggies are fresh and they have an overwhelming amount of options available. I tried the grilled avocado salad last time and it was very flavorful. The other downfall aside from the price is the noise level. It is kinda loud for a salad bar, but my guess is they are trying to make it "trendy" by blasting indie music. For starters, the dark green spiral logo for this restaurant is somewhat strange. It feels more like something you'd see in front of a smoke shop than a salad restaurant. The inside is just a large open space with several very long tables with individual seating. Strings of lights hang above the table. The inside is somewhat dark (like the logo), but it actually doesn't feel too cramped, likely because of the layout. The salads are a touch pricey, coming in at around $10 each. It was all definitely fresh though. Nothing wilted, nothing off tasting. The avocado wasn't brownish either. The menu is kind of chaotic and disorganized. Is a salad a meal or a side? Does it come with a soup? But the employees are very friendly in clearing all this up. They also offer steak and other meat options on the salad, which is a nice touch. read more
