Very Noisy at lunch. Flower Child Stated healthy eating. When I asked about sodium levels the very nice staff member shared a chart and looking closer only 4 items on menu with less than 1/2 daily recommended for low sodium. So salad we went with avocado Ceasear with no dressing added chicken and a side of fruit. With one drink was $35.00 which seems high. The food was fresh and bright. Not enough chicken to add needed protein. Fruits seems like a mix of fresh and canned or might have just been older. Great concept and very nice staff. read more

First time at this eatery. Walk up to the counter place. This is a "healthy eating joint". Clean laid back style restaurant. The young staff is friendly and respectful. We ordered chicken yakisoba noodles, flying avocado wrap, and veggie plate which included mac & cheese, kale side salad, glazed sweet potatoes. Also lemon cake. All food was good. Really good quick service restaurant but I find it a bit too pricey for the food. The interior is beautiful but can't help but there there is a "pink tax" applied to the female-targeting branding. The yakisoba noodles i got was more than $17 with tax and the ingredients can't have been more than $5, and it was a bit over salted. It took a while for the food to come out but not too bad of a wait. Overall I'd say this is a place to come when you really don't feel like cooking and don't mind paying a premium. read more

The dishes we had are: Kale & Brussel Sprouts Salad (top tier), side of Mac&chesse, and a salmon plate with smashed potatoes & brocolli. We also tried the strawberry & banana sangria which was done well. Some background: We've been going to Flower Child for years. We LOVE the concept! We've tried and enjoyed most dishes, but over the past couple years our most frequented locations became very inconsistent with execution of the food. Hence, we stopped going for awhile. However, we gave the new Plano location a shot and they over delivered! This is the Flower Child experience we grew to love several years ago, so we're hooked again. I had been to this same location before, and enjoyed the food without any issues. Everything was fresh, and the service was efficient and friendly. However, taking off a couple of stars for the portion size for what was paid. I ordered the salmon entree with the steamed broccoli and fresh fruit for a total of $17.25. Both sides were tasty, but the salmon was highly disappointing. I was given a significantly smaller and thinner portion of protein for the price that was paid, and it was over cooked without much seasoning. I'm not expecting a gourmet piece of fish, but the smaller serving compared to when I was last here was a bit jarring. My partner noticed the same thing with her french dip wrap, as there was a much lower portion of meat inside compared to when she last had it. Not sure if this is a one off, but I will be giving this place a break for a while. read more

Note- this review is not relative to other health-focused restaurants, since I'm not an expert in either health food or health in general - so please take it with a grain of salt, as some of the observations below may be what the more health-conscious want :) First: everything we tried seemed to have quality, healthy ingredients and tasted good. The turkey avocado cobb salad had literally no avocado- none we could find, anyway. We asked for some and were given a tiny cup with a few very small pieces. Avocado Caesar with chicken had nearly no Avocado-Caesar dressing, so the salad was very tasty but dry. Fortunately they provided more upon request- and this dressing was very good. So, both salads tasted good, but were skimpy on ingredients. Mango green tea and the rose lemonade fountain drinks, while sounding very appealing, really just tasted like flavored water with just a hint of the respective flavors - like other things, this may be intentional, but I did not expect it. $40 for two salads and some flavored water seemed very expensive for the value. After finishing our meals here, we felt we still needed to go somewhere else for lunch, so unfortunately, benefits from the light lunch were eliminated by whatever happened after we left. read more

One of my favorite restaurants! The food is delicious and healthy. It's esthetically beautiful inside and out and the customer service is always phenomenal! I get 1 protein and 2 sides with a drink. The rose pedal lemonade is fabulous as well as the Mango green tea. It is unsweetened but you can add your own sugar. The lemonade is sweetened. My family and I went for a casual dinner out on a Friday evening and were surprised by how busy it was. We went around 7 pm and shortly after ordering, a line extending to the door had formed. Thankfully the place is very spacious with plenty of tables inside. We tried the turkey Cobb salad ($15) and the salmon and tofu bowls ($17 and $13), each customizable with 2 sides. My family enjoyed the salad a lot (they have had it twice!) but it was on the salty side. The butternut squash and sweet potato sides were the family favorites while the quinoa corn and cauliflower risotto tasted...interesting. Just tried this for lunch and it was super delicious! When restaurants boast "healthy food" usually it's just okay to me and most of the time it's just soooo dry and boring but decided to stop by today anyway and was pleasantly surprised! Got the Mother Earth bowl and added chicken. Everything had flavor (even the arugula!). Super yum and very similar to the ancient grains bowl at another place but half the price and I think this one tastes even better! Yahoo! It's finally here, Flower Child has finally arrived north of George Bush and I am elated! I've made the journey down into Dallas a few time just to eat at Flower Child, but I am elated now that they're a little closer to home. I finally had time in my schedule, without the kids, to go and try the new Plano location and it did not disappoint. I ordered my favorite, the Mother Earth bowl with grilled chicken along with a chocolate chip cashew cookie. However, the gentleman at the register misunderstood me and put me down for the Chocolate Pudding. The Mother Earth bowl was so good, better than I remembered. All the flavors and fresh veggies and seasonings mingling together were a treat for my mouth and belly! I was going to say something about the pudding as I'm dairy free, but when I discovered the pudding WAS dairy free I was so excited to try it. I feel really badly because I'm visiting from out of town and this place look great on paper. My friend Holly, who lives in town had said that she had tried it once and found it not that great. I said you can't judge a place by one dish, let's try it again We are super sorry we did Firstly, my friend can't eat blue cheese. She made this very clear to the person at the register. We also changed the dressing on the salad that had blue cheese in it. Instead, we were served the salad the way it was meant to be made instead of the way, we ordered it when I walked up to the counter, the lead, or the manager was standing and chatting with several people who disappeared into the back when I appeared with my bowl She asked what the problem was and I said that my friend couldn't eat the blue cheese and she said rather rudely that the Caesar dressing also has cheese in it and I said it's Parmesan, which is fine but this salad is coated with blue cheese and also the wrong dressing You would think that this person would've grabbed the bowl and profoundly apologized, but instead she continued to argue about the dressing which I told her she should taste because it was wrong The salad did come back out as we ordered it. The gluten-free mac & cheese was delicious, but the gluten-free noodles were so overcooked. It was just a mushy pile of crap. I ordered the green curry, which had an excellent flavor, but limp tofu, the snap peas were most excellent, but the carrots were sour like they had spoiled with that white film on them, and the broccoli was overcooked into some type of mush. Sadly, the dish was also ruined by wet mushy rice. We did order two of the lemon gluten-free muffins which were a 10 out of 10 very excellent But I still can't get over the lead or managers behavior when I told her my friend literally gets sick from eating blue cheese or any soft cheeses and she argued with me. The only reason they're getting two is the fact that the curry had a fantastic flavor and the gluten-free muffins were absolutely divine, but the customer service at this place sucks. I left my green curry after eating the snap peas, but finish the gluten-free mac & cheese because literally I was starving. We ended up having to find another dinner elsewhere. This restaurant has an excellent concept but poor execution. Just because you throw a bunch of healthy stuff together doesn't mean it's going to taste delicious and you need to pay attention to the Cook time on the elements to a dish. I have been buying salads to-go since it's so easy to pick them up and they are fresh. The Brussel Sprouts and Kale Salad is wonderful and comes with the dressing on the side. The Steakhouse Wedge Salad is nothing more than a salad with tomatoes and some egg and watered down dressing. Without the steak I did not see the point.
