Upon arrival after a workout with my husband, we stopped here for a bite to eat. The manager literally opened the door for us, his name was Joel. I loved how bright this new space is. Very welcoming and clean. All the managers kept checking on us and making sure we had everything we needed. Lola, Bradley, and Joel thank yall so much. Food was a 10/10 as always. I got the grilled chicken club with potato salad and hubby got the Angus beef club with chicken tortilla soup. He got the seasonal pumpkin pecan cookie and I got a brookie. I just had lunch at the new McAllisters on Hebron and I was so disappointed. Firstly, the line to order was very long. I got the 2 fer.The sandwich was ok but I tasted the potato soup and didn't touch it again. It was like they put the milk in with no thickener. It was that thin, then the potatoes were not edible. Nothing like I always got at the old Plano location. The people picked up trash from the tables and didn't bother to wipe them down. They left straw wrappers and napkins on the table so it was difficult to find a clean table. read more

Well McAlisters moved locations and I thought I'll give em a try. I ordered a French dip and a baked potato. The sandwich was good not out of this world good but decent. Potato was terrible. I would have gave them another try but I ordered to go and silly me thinking they would pack all the food I ordered. I get home from grabbing Daughter from Gymnastics as we are ALL hungry and guess what NO potato. So I had to call get in my car drive ALL the way back just to get this below average potato. Manager was kind offered a drink and a cookie but sorry not interested in any cheap sugar treat. I missed dinner with my Family because of this mistake and well No a soda nor cookie gesture was adequate enough. read more

The Reuben was great. The corned beef was about an inch deep. The sauerkraut was good and fresh, like the chilled section sauerkraut at the grocery store. The thousand island dressing was fresh and plentiful. The potato salad was also good. The sandwich was the star as it should have been. The gentleman at the counter who took the order and brought the food was courteous. He even came by and asked if I needed anything else. The store was clean and had a nice bright atmosphere. Tried the brand new location. Its nice but I don't see much difference of the interior. I ordered chili just to go onna check out the new spot. Chili was fine however I asked for some chopped red onion for sprinkling on top. I received a bowl full of uncut onions. What am I supposed to do with these? If I was eating on the run...this would be ridiculous. I chopped them when I got home but if I wanted to prepare my own food I wouldn't have paid you. This is just pure laziness and unthoughtful of your customers. I don't trust this kitchen. I'm an app holder and frequent diner. Absolute nightmare. Walked in for a DoorDash order with 2 items at 6:00, and didn't leave until 6:45. Clearly, there was an issue with their takeout orders, as they kept piling up the point that there were 10 people waiting around the counter for their food, multiple having already left in frustration. I completely understand if they were understaffed or if there was an issue in the kitchen, but that wasn't the worst part. The man at the counter said absolutely *nothing* to the customers waiting besides "Yeah it's gonna be a minute." No explanation of what was going on. Never even a simple "What was the name on that order again?" Nor did any of the other workers address us, when they had to have seen us sitting in the same spot for close to an hour. Again, having worked customer service myself, I understand the stress of when things go wrong outside of your control. But to *completely* ignore your customers is unacceptable. To not explain the situation, apologize for the delay, or even check in again on your customers is not okay. ****Particularly as a DoorDash driver, this experience costed me an hour of valuable time and income on a busy Friday night, and potentially damage to my own rating when McAlister's abysmal, nonexistent communication means I can't explain to *my* customer why their food from a mile away took an hour to be delivered. This experience could have been drastically better by a simple "I'm so sorry for the wait, we only have two people back there" or "Our oven's having trouble," I don't know, SOMETHING! For a microwaved sandwich and a tiny salad, it's pretty hard to justify that kind of wait, and it's exceptionally insulting without any updates or explanations. Please, for the love of god, teach your employees to communicate. The bare minimum is better than nothing. I will not be taking any more orders from this McAlister's. read more

The customer service by general manager, Leo Bucaliu, was beyond terrible. My wife and I placed an online order to expedite the process and after over half an hour of waiting past our estimated completion time, Leo claimed that the order was never submitted to the kitchen. And this was after a different employee told me that the order "will be ready soon." The order was supposed to be ready for pick-up at 11:38am and I did not get it until 12:10pm. Leo offered no apology or compensation - this is entirely unacceptable from a large retail restaurant. read more

We've been coming to McAlister's Deli for many years and really like their sandwiches (especially the muffaletta, which has been dropped). I've been leery of dining out for the past several months, though, due to covid. Lately, we've ventured out for more takeout. Their sandwiches have always been pricey, but they are worth it because of the quality and quantity of the meat. They really pile it on and it is delicious. Usually, there's enough for us to split one order or save half for later. The staff is always friendly and seem to be taking the necessary precautions for covid. I can't testify to the cleanliness of the tables, since we haven't been dining in. Hopefully, they are more on the ball than they were before the pandemic, when table cleanup didn't seem to be a high priority. This week, we both ordered the New Yorker sandwiches. The layers of corned beef and pastrami tasted great and the swiss cheese, mustard and marbled rye made it delightful. The mac & cheese sides had the usual creamy texture that we're used to. I should have learned, though, that it is best to verify that the order is correct before driving home. The last 2 visits have resulted in the disappointment of missing out on the dill pickle spears. The first time, I didn't think much of it, but when it happened again on Monday, I decided to call the number on my receipt and ask about it. The girl that answered the phone told me that they don't give out pickles anymore, unless you ask for them. How was I supposed to know that I needed to ask for a pickle??? She said she wanted me to talk to the manager, because he might want to do something for me. I suppose he might ask me if I want the 4 dill pickle spears that I had missed out on?? Well, no, that didn't happen. He explained that it was a corporate decision to hold the pickles unless the customer asks for them. I guess that sort of cleared it up. Reminded me of years ago when American Airlines saved tens of thousands of dollars by eliminating olives from salads they served. Anyway, the manager also explained that the online orders contain a checkbox for requesting a pickle. Well, we ordered old school, at the counter. He said he was trying to train his employees to ask if customers wanted pickles, but I guess we just need to remember to request them. Not a big deal, McAlister's but I see from other reviews that this policy seems to rub other people the wrong way. My family and I came by after our walk at the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve. We were thirsty so we got sweet teas! Everything on the menu is drool worthy (if you like salads, subs, and spuds) and the kids meals are actually adorable. 99 cents if you dine in. Stopped by this place for my daughter's fundraiser. We ended up eating inside. There were only three tables being used. My son and I got soup and sandwich. He had baked potato soup and I had tomato basil. He had a plain ham and cheese sandwich, and I had the steak and pepper sandwich. My daughter had a big potato with cheese and bacon, and some chili. The meal really did them in, and I guess it was more than they could eat or they weren't really hungry. My daughter struggled to finish half the potato and only had a few spoonfuls of chili before she was ready to go. My son managed to make his way halfway through the sandwich and a couple of spoonfuls of the potato soup, which he did thoroughly enjoy. I finished everything. We were hoping for a good sandwich on a busy, stressful day, what we got was okay, but disappointing. It was 2:00, so there weren't a lot of people there - customers or waitstaff. The front counter had one person on duty, and she was working very hard to order the food, dress the plates with condiments and deliver them to the tables. That's three folks' jobs. The food was just okay. My BLT-A was surprisingly tasteless, which I couldn't understand. The bread was burnt on the edges and the sandwich just kept falling apart. My tomato soup had a lot of flavor, but it almost had an uncooked brightness to it that I didn't like. My husband's lunch was okay; I think he enjoyed his roast beef and cheddar sandwich pretty well. Should of just donated the money to our fund raising night. Food ordered was horrible. Placed order online and went to pick up. Took 30 minutes to get after there. Tons of orders sitting on counter waiting to be bagged up to go. A lot of people waiting. Not enough help. When I'm craving a sandwich McAlister is where I head. We've tried lots of their sandwiches my favorite was the mufalada but sadly they discontinued that a while back. With covid we are careful where we go. They have lots of signs on the floor to remind you to stay 6' apart, employees were masked and gloved, so am pleased they are taking my safely(and their employees seriously) There were a few people eating inside and they were spaced far apart. They have outside tables but was a little chilly to eat outside today so got ours to go. Today I got the spicy chicken with a side (one side comes with it) of their delicious mac and cheese, my go to side here. I like spicy but not so much it overwhelms what I'm eating. I asked the girl about it and she said it isn't too strong but sometimes the jalapeño bread can be. Well it was perfect and so was the bread. The last 2 times we've been there no pickle was included in our takeout order. Today I asked if they've discontinued that with their sandwiches and was told new policy is not to include them unless you ask for a pickle. I asked if that was listed on their wall menu (I didn't see anything) was told no but it is listed on the online order form. So be sure to ask for one or none is included. read more

Logan was great at helping me figure out what I really wanted to eat and I can be difficult when I'm not sure of what I exactly want. This was my first visit to a McAlister's Deli. Many of my friends who live locally rave about it. I ordered one of their spuds, an oatmeal raisin cooking and an ice tea to go. The potato was okay...but they didn't give much sour cream for the huge size. The cookie was good, as was the ice tea. The most annoying part of my visit is that I was there late after lunch. There was no line, yet the employees behind the counter were unhelpful and abrupt. It appeared that I was intruding on their socializing and I felt very unwelcome. I will try another McAlister's next time I am in the DFW area, but this one left a bad taste in my mouth. They are in the hospitality industry but weren't very hospitable. I have to say that shortly after posting this review I had a message from someone in management at McAlister's and they were all about customer service. I picked up an order here today for a just a spud and I have been ordering here for two years because I live right behind this store. I order the same thing all the time. A just a spud (the large one) and eat it that night. Then I also order broccoli cheese soup with bread and have it the next day. Since it's quarantine time I did the same this time. They gave me two day old potatoes and put them together. The outside of the potatoes were hard as rocks. When I called and spoke to GM Brittany Johnson. What's a great place to go grab a quick bite! They make lunch super fast and even when there is a line, you are going to have fantastic service. Ordered a soup and half sandwich combo witch was pretty tasty. Didn't really like how the chicken tortilla soup was made. It was more a thick paste base with nothing inside of it. Not one piece of chicken in it, but I did like how hot it was, meaning temp. It's big chips they serve with it and I really just dipped them in my soup. The sandwich I ordered was one of their melts. I loved this! It was super yummy, hot and cheesy with some sort of mayo sauce that was in it. At the front their are plenty of ice cold teas to choose from, as well as lots of treats you can take back to the office for a party or whatever.
