Sandwich came back full of bacon and grilled but cold. Chai tea is only milk with a a lightly flavor to something different than chai. Extremely hoy. Hard to drink until 10 minutes later. We had breakfast here after dropping off our children at DFW. We ordered blueberry top buttermilk pancakes. Wifey ordered garden gate scrambler (vegan). The pancakes are so fluffy, very soft and it melts in your mouth, taste great. The spinach and potatoes from the garden gate scrambler are tasty and delicious. Serving staff are friendly and helpful. This isn't a terrible place if you want a quick meal. I ordered my food and got it in less than 5 minutes. After you order, they give you a number and you wait at your table to receive your food. Can only speak to their salads and sandwiches, and pretty sure we've tried them all. The chopped and harvest salads are our faves; love the uptown turkey avocado, tomato mozzarella, BBLT and carved ham/swiss sammies. Paninis are great too, but sometimes with takeout they get a little soggy. A number of included side options with the sandwiches; typically choose the side salad which is a decent size. Carbonara small bowl but about a kid size. I'm struggling on what star level to give them The place needs some work. The rotating door is scary and dangerous. The flooring is cracked and broken throughout which is so dangerous. I wear heels and it was an issue. The service was decent. The place was busy and tables were clean. My carbonara was creamy and I liked the stuff in it and the noodles. Pretty bland and cold for waiting a while to get it so that was confusing and I think the portion is not really generous. Let me start off by asking this question.... If your business specializes in coffee, baked goods and breakfast (served ALL DAY, mind you)... HOW DO YOU RUN OUT OF SYRUP????? It was a Sunday... we got off to a late start (2pm or so). We still have a taste for breakfast. So we go to Corner Bakery. Maybe four customers are eating in the restaurant. One employee is fumbling with things behind the front counter. So my wife and I are standing there. Finally another customer arrives and is trying to buy some baked goods that are located in the front area. We're all waiting for almost five minutes. We're not greeted... there's no "We'll be right with you"... nothing. (Apparently, people meet up to stand in line at Corner Bakery... just to hang out. That must be the normal thing because the guy behind the counter didn't bother to turn his attention to the folks in line.) --- That's sarcasm, by the way. Anyways... I finally lean against the counter and turn my head towards the rear or the kitchen area. I purposely say (very loudly) "EXCUSE ME! IS ANYONE BACK THERE?" Literally everyone in the restaurant stops to see what's going on. Finally someone comes out the back and apologizes. The guy at the front desk finally turns around. Another guy (employee number three... of whom I assume was a manager) hands us two menus but advises us that they're all out of syrup. Knowing that we were already off to a bad start, I took it as a sign or a preview of what was to come- had we stayed to eat. We just decided to leave. Such a disappointment. I could understand if the place was packed, the employees are running crazy and I'm just being unrealistic in my expectations. But I don't feel that I was. Terrible experience. When I ordered a club the order taker asked me "the panini club?" I said "No, What are the other bread choices?" In her unfriendly tone, she named white bread. When I asked if there another bread choice she says wheat?? Why didn't she say that to before with? She was not cooperative or friendly. I ordered white (forgot to ask for it to be toasted). Why didn't see ask? Well, the sandwich was horrible. The sandwich was cut in half. A club is cut in quarters. I did not receive white bread. It was on egg bread. Ok, no big deal. I usually add a little more salt and pepper and maybe garlic myself, but I like simple pasta dishes and enjoy the flavor of this one. The garlic bread it comes with is very good too. The tomato basil soup is delicious and robust! It comes with some croutons also. I love dipping my grilled cheese in their soup. Service is a walk-up quick service counter and self-serve drinks, of which there are good variety. The store has a comfortable atmosphere and decent amenities, a good place for a group or for a quiet session. But I do love their cheddar and bacon panini. I was having issues with the drivers taking items like the cookie out or forgetting/taking my drink. I've been going to Corner Bakery for years. I catered many lunches for my office. I have never had a bad experience until recently. I went in the day before Thanksgiving, November 22nd, to quickly grab a sandwich and be on my way. What should have been ten minutes turned into 40 minutes before I got my sandwich and walked out the door. Others had been waiting longer than I. One couple had been waiting so long, they finally walked out. I was told the manager let everyone go home, with the exception of the two gentlemen working. One was working the register and taking orders to the tables, and one was cooking. No manager or other employees were onsite. Who makes such a stupid decision on a day before a busy holiday when people are shopping, especially during a lunch hour. Although the food was good, I will never visit this location again. I have passed by this location a million times and finally decided to stop for a bite. It's pretty easy to get to off Preston just north of Park. It's right next to a men's warehouse if you're having trouble finding it. The restaurant itself is decently well kept. Tables were bussed within a good amount of time. Ordering was painless. There was a short line but it went fast. For my meal I ordered the trio option. I chose the Caesar salad, chicken salad and the tomato basil soup. The chicken salad was fantastic. It wasn't heavy in celery like some. It had green apples, almonds, and dried cranberries mixed in. The Caesar salad was ok. The dressing wasn't mixed in well. The bottom pieces of lettuce were doused in dressing while the top part was dry. The tomato basil soup I probably wouldn't order again. It had a really sweet taste and it was a very thin soup compared to other tomato basils ive had. I really expected to have more of a tomato flavor but the sweet taste kept taking over ruining it. Overall a nice place to stop to eat. It does get pretty loud in there so this probably wouldn't be a good spot to have a quiet meeting. I've always loved food from here. The salads, soups, sandwiches and delicious cookies are some of my favorites. My order is right probably 99% of the time and Ive been here a lot. However, I have recently been disappointed in the service over the last year or two. Even when I get my food "to go", it is rare when I have the person checking out my order give me a greeting, a smile or anything along the lines of "have a nice day". Granted, we all have to wear masks now so smiling and whatnot works differently, but I believe friendliness can extend beyond a facial covering. It truly dampens my mood when I'm about to pick up some delicious food I didn't have to make, and as the customer IM the one delivering the friendly greeting and the "have a nice day" sentiment to the person handing me my food. I'm usually met back with cold eyes and a mumbled "here" as I get my food and it's disappointing every time. Either hire people that can at least pretend they're happy to be there for five seconds, or train them to just be BETTER. There are times I am just not up to dealing with the person handing me my food and the dead responses and interactions I get from them and so I order my dinner somewhere else. The four stars are for the food only. You lose more of my business the longer you keep terribly inhospitable people employed. read more

This location is always sooo busy, which wouldn't be an issue if people could get the tables cleaned off faster. My mom and I finished ordering and saw about 4 tables with empty plates and even an abandoned tray of dirty dishes on a chair. I honestly only come here whenever there are BOGO coupons because my parents like eating here. I ordered the half and half/pick two lunch option and decided on the harvest salad and the southwest salad. The portions are huge considering I only paid $8 with the coupon for my meal and my mother's (she ordered tomato soup and a carbonara pasta). I finished about half of my southwest salad and took the other untouched salad to-go. The southwest salad is very underwhelming with all the ingredients looking like they came out of bulk bags from a very stock version of what this salad should be. It looked very cost efficient I guess is what I'm trying to say. The lettuce is the cheap stuff you throw on your hard shell tacos, the cheese is the same stuff you put on your chilli cheese dog, and the corn salsa was barely there. I haven't​ been to Corner Bakery Cafe for sooo long (probably for years) but my mom just remembered​ today and really wanted to get their​ chicken noodle soup since it was her favorite​ thing to get years ago. So I ordered through Yelp and we both got the "Choose Any Two" for 8 bucks each. She got ​half of Meatball Panini and a cup of Chicken Noodle Soup. I got the Tomato Mozzarella​ Sandwich​ and a Pesto Cavatappi without the chicken. The sandwich​ was good for what it is, so simple and so straightforward. But the Pesto Cavatappi was a big NO NO for me. That first bite was extremely bland, I couldn't​ even taste the salt on it. So I added my Ethiopian spices and my pesto sauce that I bought from Trader Joe's to the dish. The second bite was decent but when I was ready for my third bite, I saw there were some tiny chicken bits in it (I don't know if it's​ made with the sauce​ which they could've clarified​ as a ingredients​' description in the menu under each food). I placed my fork down and proceed to throw it away. Mom really enjoyed her foods (the Panini were a little​ dry) and the Chicken Noodle Soup hasn't changed​ for her which I'm happy for. This used to be a favorite restaurant of mine but the service and menu quality has plummeted. It started about the time the request for tips was added to checkout. That in itself is annoying. No one waits on you. You stand in line to order, you make own drinks and stick a number up for delivery. Someone drops off your food and that's it. The requested tip is heavy handed and the food is not nearly the same quality. If you tip less than the full 20%, the staff becomes sullen. I imagine not tipping would be even worse. Like I said, it used to be a favorite but now they take more money and give you less food and service. I'd rather go to a real restaurant and be waited on by an actual server. During lunch hour, the seating situation can be unbearable at times. On multiple occasions I have had to go sit outside due to the lack of seating. The real kicker here that drops my rating so low is one particular bus boy. He slings his cart bussing container around with little care for the patrons. He will come up to your table and interject himself into your conversation with your lunch mate. He is loud, vulgar, and rude. He completely ruins most experiences I have at this establishment.
