Review for: La La Land Kind Cafe (Preston Road, Plano) Date of Visit: August 14, 2026 Employee/Manager Involved: Haley My family, friends, and I have been loyal customers of this location for over a year, but the customer service has degraded so badly that we will never step foot in here again. Yesterday, I ordered a Frozen La La Land Latte. I politely requested mixed milk and asked for light ice. For reasons entirely unknown, the girl behind the counter immediately caught an attitude. She angrily slammed a massive amount of ice into the blender and poured in excessive milk. When I tasted it, it was completely watered-down milk and ice--there was absolutely no coffee flavor. When I returned to the counter and politely asked if she could add a splash of coffee to correct her mistake, she snapped at me. In an angry, loud voice, she told me I had to go to the back of the line and pay for a whole new drink. I told her I wasn't trying to order a new drink, just asking her to fix the one she messed up. I asked, "Do you want me to pay again for your mistake?" and she loudly yelled, "YES." Instead of arguing with an aggressive employee, I asked to speak with the manager. She smugly informed me that her name was Haley, she was the manager, and then she walked away. When I told her I would be leaving a negative review about this experience, she yelled back, "Do that. Well, Haley, here it is. For a business that builds its entire brand identity around "spreading kindness" and "human connection," employing an actively hostile manager who treats loyal regulars with utter contempt is a joke. I lean to 3.5 stars for this one, but pushed to 4 because of the employees. As I've noted in other reviews for La La Land, they all offer the same drinks, the same display, the same food, but what's different is the vibe. The vibe for this one is BUSY! This place is ALWAYS busy. Always! So you better expect to have patience when you visit this location. A mobile order is a wise idea if you are in any sort of a hurry. If you order at the counter and choose to wait, it will be at least 15min. The employees are kind and really helpful. When I wasn't sure if I'd like matcha, one of them made me a small sample to try. I did not like and it was able to order something I would like without wasting. The parking and seating are hit or miss. Sometimes in the time it takes to wait for your drink (longer than normal) a seat will open up. My favorite thing about this location is the large table indoors. My kids and I will sometimes go early in the morning, take a game and play while I have coffee and they enjoy a pastry. I think if they opened another location close by it would greatly off-set the business of this location. In addition, the tables, floors and bathroom are usually dirty, but I genuinely think it's not because of neglect, but because they are packed from open until close and don't have employees to spare. read more

I love the Addison location and wanted to La La La love this one as well. I wanted it to be my favorite, but definitely disappointed. I was really looking forward to visiting La La Land Kind Cafe in Plano, especially after watching the glowing GMA segment that morning (even though it was filmed at the Southlake location). Unfortunately, my experience at the Plano cafe didn't reflect what I saw on TV. The line was long, which is totally understandable, but not a single person at the register seemed kind. No smiles, just stressed faces. It didn't feel like the warm, welcoming vibe they promote. The cafe itself was not clean. Tables were messy and the bathroom was honestly pretty disgusting. For a place that prides itself on atmosphere and kindness, it really missed the mark. As for the food, the Nutella croissant was very dry, the avocado toast was just okay, and the fruit toast had brown bananas on it -- not fresh or appealing. La La, we can do better. I still believe in the mission, and I'll give it another shot someday, but this visit fell far short of expectations. Hoping next time it's closer to the shiny, smiley version I saw on TV. read more

I'm low key obsessed and have gone every single day to get one, even swung by on my way to the airport Saturday morning (: I've been fortunate to have a couple of weeks to settle into my new neighborhood before starting at my new company. While my days won't look so similar to the last week or so, La La Land will definitely remain a regular. I love this spot! Service is consistently great. I walk or drive here each day. Their drinks have been the perfect little comfort treat after my morning jogs or incorporated on an afternoon walk. Been to this location 5 times cause it's near work and wow! It's always busy! I advise mobile ordering before picking up cause sometimes the lines are ridiculous. Even with mobile ordering before picking there may be a 20 minute wait. Drinks are delicious! Pricey but great if you love the vibe and coffee here. With a place like this you're expecting all sorts of oooey gooey goodness and the staff certainly stay with the theme. I got a good morning with a smile as soon as i walked in and the baristas while busy making drinks, acknowledged me waiting at the register and asked me what I wanted before ringing me up so they could get my order on the line. That right there is the 5th star my friends! I got the perfect latte on ice, despite the cold weather. It comes with "secret sauce" and I'm all for conspiracy and secrets these days. My drink tasted good. It was not more ice and less drink, and had a strong coffee note while not being too sweet. Honestly it would be even better hot than iced. It was a bit more pricey than the average latte these days. Final note, for my friends that enjoy machta, they lean into it heavily here so you may want to put this on your list if that is your thing. I've tried the Banana Cloud latte, the hot, world's best vanilla latte and a supposedly ice green tea mango. I went in on Sunday morning at around 11 am - a peak busy time you'd think they'd be staffed and ready for. The restroom had no toilet paper and no soap (which I informed them of), because gross. The guy who was managing the toaster oven, warming up croissants & such was not wearing gloves and continued touching his hair while managing the food.
