Salata is MY FAVORITE salad place EVER!!! I'm talking better than Snappy Salads, better than Salad & Go and any other place that sells salads. I am not usually one to leave leftovers, especially with salads, I clean the bowl. However, with Salata their "small" is a generous portion so the "regular" I usually have leftovers, that's how big they are! They have plenty of lettuce options, but my favorite thing is that you can pick as many toppings as you want. It's not limited to 5 or 10, AS MANY AS YOU WANT! Yes, there are items that cost extra (avocado & artichoke hearts), but all the other veggies, fruits, nuts and cheese are included. Then you get a generous portion of yummy dressing (many vegan, vege and regulars to choose from) and your choice of protein. Yes, protein does cost extra, but it's a great portion and decently priced. THEN you get a complimentary fresh and soft croissant to accompany your salad. The service is amazing, friendly and quick. I highly recommend the app as their rewards system on their app is actually worth it and you can also order ahead from the app - it's really quick and they don't skimp on 'to-go' orders either. This location is very short staffed. I was greeted by the young from the end of the ordering line. He was cashing someone out, and calling for his female colleague that was away from the front preparing areas. Now I see a third female not sure what was happening in the back part of the restaurant but they both came out with nothing in their hands like more spinach and spring mix lettuce. I'm not a huge fan of salads, but one person in my family really does, and he approves of this place. It is nice to be able to customize your salad and add as many toppings as you want. There were both standard and unique toppings like edamame, jicama, and many fruits, a dozen dressing choices, and many kinds of protein (quinoa and falafel being the vegan/vegetarian ones). They happened to be out of tomatoes and steak when we went in the evening. Protein is an additional $4 or so, so most bowls end up costing around $15-16. However the portions are enormous, and a regular bowl could even be shared by two people. Everything tasted quite fresh and healthy, with only the protein being the cooked parts of the meal. I visit this location often, as it's close to my workplace. On this occasion, I had the pleasure of being serviced by Lindzy (Sophia, Garry, and Sandy). Upon entering, I was greeted with 'Welcome In', which offers a warm feel. Atop the pleasantry, the store was clean, comfortable, and bright. The staff was very professional and handled my salad with the upmost care, ensuring that I received everything that I asked for, including the special requests. Our favorite Salata closed at Coit and Campbell so we went to the one on Preston Rd in Plano. My wife got a severe case of food poisoning although I did not. Something there caused it as that was all she ate and 90 minutes later it hit. Dealing with it. read more

I've been out of the country for a whole year and the first place I had to go when I got back was Salata yesterday. I've missed the salads so much and to my surprise, I got to see my favorite person there, Gary. Somehow he always can make a person's day better. I'm shocked his position hasn't changed. I asked him why and he said maybe one day. He's always given me good advice, so I gave him some good advice, which is what I do for everyone when it seems like they need it. As much as I love eating salads from Salata, it's literally the best salad restaurant there is. No matter how much you love your job, but if they don't value you or you don't feel valued, it's time to move on. P.S. I really like going to Salata but not this one anymore between the watering down their dressings to sand in the lettuce it's not going well. Don't go here. Go to a different one. The staff are not friendly no one has a smile they all basically say ok what do you want. Tell them 3 times and they still have to ask. Don't listen well. I get they are newly opened, so there will be growing pains with new employees and training. The issue I have is when customer who actually visit the store for lunch, and prioritized behind mobile/phone orders. I was #3 physically in line but #10 in the salad bowls needing to be made. I watched employees frantically run around with paper ticket orders, building the pickup order salads. Meanwhile myself and the 2 in front sat and waited for our lunch. The employee was nice and said "it will be a while, we have orders in front of you". I waited 5 minutes and realized it would be a while even before I could choose my first item for the salad. I left. Just a service tip, when customers walk out of the store because you are prioritizing customers not physically at the store, that's bad. To the store, I'll leave a preemptive response to the soon to be follow up asking I email to allow you to "make it right". 1st visit to this brand new location. There are several in Collin county area. It was time for salad and this one was just right. Bright shinny and new just opened a couple weeks ago. Word getting out as we saw a number of customers for dining in and take out for Sun lunch. Unless you are very very hungry get the small bowl. We ate only 1/2 and had plenty for take out/lunch the next day. Very efficient walking down the line picking out your salad ingredients lots to choose from. So HAPPY that a Salata opened in Plano! The Preston location is our GO-TO! Ingredients are FRESH, the Spicy Chipotle OR the Pesto Chicken Proteins are DELISH and the dressings to top it off! YUM! Perfect for lunch or dinner! Options that they offer are a regular or small sized salad OR even a wrap! The regular size salad is perfect for me as I eat 1/2 and save the other half for the next day (I just ask for the dressing on the side with a To-Go box). Restaurant is always kept clean & the employees are very nice & accommodating. Can't say enough about this Salata location! The line moves quick, but not so fast that you feel rushed to pick what you want. My husband and I both tried the spicy chicken for our protein and it definitely had a kick to it. My favorite part was the kids meal bento box. My daughter loved getting to choose her own items for her meal. They have multiple things to drink, but the juice choices were our favorite. This location isn't very well run. Stopped in again to see if they improved and nope. Floors/Rugs are absolutely filthy. Employees should be sweeping at least 15 minutes every hour. There's an old saying in retail which also applies to food service - retail is detail. This location is consistently out of napkins, forks, etc and it's typically pretty dirty too even in the middle of the day with nobody in the restaurant. One of the employees had to run into the bathroom and get the paper towels from the bathroom for customers to use as napkins. How embarrassing. If you want an example of an incredibly run restaurant that everyone should model themselves after is Taco Deli just down the street from this location on Preston. I really don't know how they do it because you can walk in that place at 12:15 for lunch and the place is immaculate and everything Is standing tall and employees are not bumping into each other. I would go hire the VP of operations away from Taco deli and pay him whatever he wants. Go see what I'm talking about and you'll agree. This SALATA location continues to go downhill. Running a restaurant is incredibly difficult but if you don't have a paranoid mindset I think it's really hard to be successful in this business read more

Visited this restaurant today. It was clean and the safe was friendly. I ordered a small salad and a croissant. The croissant was ROCK hard and cold.I could have used it as a weapon. I asked for a cup of water and was told that they didn't have any cups, so a bottle of water (room temperature) was my only option. I normally wouldn't even do this but I feel like the customer service here isn't what you receive in other locations & with this one being new I am writing the review. I have come in many times and ordered and normally the are friendly and kind. My boyfriend has as well. This time he went in and I did not receive the same care. First I want to say nobody expected free food. He ordered the salad which is normally around $18. It was ordered for Togo however they didn't give a bag. As I was walking out the door a young kid was running in opened the door and knocked the whole salad out of my boyfriends hands. Which was an accident. Very disappointed with this location and the company overall. I have been a fan of this restaurant since I lived in California and most recently over the last 3 years I have lived in Texas. I was excited at the opening of this location since its closer to my home. However, on multiple occasions I have been to this location they have been out of several ingredients that I find very important in my Salad. I reached out directly to corporate and they told me it was a distribution issue. However, at other restaurants and other locations of Salata, they all have these items. There are a lot of options in the area. Looks like I am going to avoid Salata all together and start exploring other restaurants from now on... read more

Hands down the worst experience I've ever had at Salata. First of all, they were out of everything. Then the stuff they did have, the employees were extremely stingy with their portions. I swear I only got 15 pieces of spinach in an all spinach salad. They also only gave me half a scoop of the 4 toppings I asked for (they were out of everything else). By the time I finished building my order, I only had half a salad. There was so little food in my bowl, that I kept getting asked if it was supposed to be a wrap. I had to go to the grocery store afterwards to get the ingredients to finish making my salad at home. Absolutely ridiculous. I will not be emailing the inevitable email address I will be getting as a response to this review. I simply will not be returning, and I suggest you don't either. read more
