I really went in not having the expectation that this place will take me back home. We ordered one beef shawarma sandwich and one, what he calls, fried chicken, which is what's known back home as "broasted" and both had the exact same flavors. he really nailed the flavors, and the crunch of the chicken and the the good beef shawarma that I gave up on ordering here since no one knows how to make it right. They do not have actual pita .. they gave something like thin taco.. hummus was tasing like sand with absolutely no flavors ... chicken kabab were so chewy n dry. Walked in on Saturday around 11:30am before it got busy. The owner was very friendly and I can a guarantee everything is fresh since I watched him make it fresh! The menu wasn't very clear so look for a small sheet next to the counter. He was able to communicate what they served and I ended up getting the Shawarma Wrap with fries, and an order of Falafels. I really wanted some hummus but he was still in process of making that, which means I will be coming back! The Shawarma has a nice char to it, and the pickled veggies/pepper in the wrap has plenty of seasoning and flavors. It isn't too overwhelming with sauce so you can actually taste the flavor of the chicken. The falafels have a nice crispy texture, perfect amount of seasonings, and not overly dry! read more

We tried Shami's last night for dinner and the food was fantastic. The owner was polite and kind. We had the half grilled chicken platter and my husband licked it clean. Efficient service & clean place. While I loved the garlic sauce, the limited menu and the bland food was disappointing.

I was asked to give an honest review which I am known to do. New places are always exciting to me and i try to support the neighborhood. I hate Texas summer heat so when i go from my air condition car I want to instantly walk into a nice cool air conditioned establishment which this was not it. I don't want to hear any excuses either. No AC don't open until you get some. I thought the owner was very nice and i know he is anxious to make money so that's why I am happy to give it to you straight. I took a look at the menu and just like next door at Cane's Chicken this places serves all chicken that is priced just like Canes basically the same no matter the offering. I almost walked out because of the pricing. Not because it was priced high but because it was all priced the same which is a red flag this place will be closed within two years. Now, he kundly said, i have wungs that aren't on the menu so my interest was peaked since its Mediterranean it might be great. He informed me it was $15.99 the same as all the other dishes but he told me it came with pita, coleslaw, fries and veggies. The truth is it came with six wing drumsticks that had all sorts of cristle, bone and strung then meat and it was a decent flavor but dry and left me hungry. The veggies were sparse of a couple onion balls, tomato and pickled veggies but barely any and about six french fries. There was some garlic sauce but no coleslaw You can see it on the photo it was not worth it when you can go across the road to the halal guy, down the road for sushi, up a road for wings and three places for chicken so it needs to be oretty amazing for a return which for me i won't be back The other issue was the package. He only had it in a plastic bag that you couldn't gold by the handle because the foil dish was burning through and I was concerned it would melt the bag. Also, it messed up my leather seat from the heat from the lack of good packaging. A paperbag with some sort of card placement under the foil container or a chinese food plastic box would be better. You can tell this man is eager to open and make money but shopping the market, testing to go order packing, pricing and amount of food etc was not something he researched. I think his customer service is spot on and it could be awesome but there are way too many places in the area and this is hidden in the midst while being Mediterranean which isn't a huge seller in DFW so you better bring it with something special and a wow factor. I'm going to be honest, I was so happy to try it but the shawarma was dry and the chicken was hard rock. the fries felt like it was fried twice and old. I was so excited to try it because I like supporting shawarma shops but I felt like the only good was the customer service, the shawarmas chicken was really old and the bread was so oily I did not enjoy it. The garlic sauce felt very unauthentic and filled with mayonnaise instead of an actual toum sauce unfortunately. read more
