    We ate it all!
    Cannon T.

I had never eaten Afghanistan food but was invited by a friend. I was apprehensive indeed but determined to stay open minded. He ordered for the two of us. lamb kabob and kabuki puloa (Essentially, rice, lamb, carrots, raisins, and nuts). We also ordered hot tea. we chose to sit at traditional table and waited no more than 10 minutes for our food to arrive. The rice and lamb dish was big enough to feed two or three people and then they served out kebabs. I was embarrassed by how much food was on the table! My friend showed me how to use the naan (bread) to remove the lamb from the skewer. It was heaven. The bread was soft and warm and just spongy enough to soak up any juice dripping from the lamb. I ate far more than my share (6 each, I had 7 of them). The meat was so tender, a bit salty on its own, but muted when eaten with the bread. I could eat this for lunch every day. Delicious!

We got the lamb tikka plate, koobideh plate and 6 piece tandoori wings. Everything was amazing. Happy to find Afghan food in Plano

It takes superior quality and huge courage to open a restaurant at the peak of pandemic
    Hina I.

It takes a superior quality, unparalleled taste, and tremendous courage with a tinge of a leap of faith to open a restaurant at the peak of the pandemic when companies that survived the great depression of 1929 went out of business in 2020. Wings kabab seemed to have it all. Its a nice, clean, and simple Afghani restaurant that appears to carry the most favorite of afghan cuisine at the most affordable price. I ordered chapli kababs and 12 wings (6-original and 5-tandoori). The owner is a passionate man who really loves cooking and knows his spices. Not just that, he possesses a great personality. He brought us a chapli to taste, and we were not disappointed. I am a foodie, a picky person when it comes to authenticity, flavors, and taste. Chapli kabab comes in 2-patties (kebabs) with onion garnish, green chilli+mint chutney, and a 16" naan. A bite of that naan with kebab and inions with a dip in chutney took me back through the history of great afghans and pakhtoons. I don't know when was the last time you ate something in America that was so authentic that you almost lost your breath and had your childhood memories dancing right in front of you again. That first bite of chapli was just that much magical. You have to eat it to believe it. Wings were decent sized, not the embarrassing tiny nugget we are so used to of seeing. They were juicy but not oily, had a great flavor. Kids loved the original ones, which were not spicy but very flavorful. We also loved the tandoori version. The owner also serves Kabuli rice on Sat and Sunday. I plan to visit and check those too. But just their chapli itself is good enough for me to die a happy person. The location is on the left of 99 Ranch Market, and the store sign may benefit if it had light in it for better visibility at night. Overall, this place is killing chapli kebabs with 16" naan for $9.99.

    Afghani and American style seating!

Best chop kebabs in all of Dallas and even the wings are really great. I recommend this place to anyone who loves that type of food.

The koobideh itself was good, definitely tasty, but more in the "solid" range rather than something that really stands out compared to other spots I've tried. I also had the mast o khiar. Super fresh, really flavorful, and a big portion. I like to eat it with the bread and alongside the koobideh, which might not be traditional but I love it. I also tried the tahdig gheymeh that my friend ordered. First time having it and I'm glad I did. The rice had a nice crunch and the stew was flavorful. Not sure I'd order it normally, but worth trying. The restaurant was pretty quiet during lunch, just one other table, so service was quick and smooth. I left full and satisfied. Overall, a good spot with generous portions and solid flavors. Not the absolute best Persian food I've had, but still a place I'd come back to when I'm in the area.

You can pile your plate high enough to feed a small medieval village, which is good, because you're going to need all those calories to recover from the sheer emotional confusion of the experience. The portions are endless, but the flavor profile has apparently been locked in a witness protection program, because it is nowhere to be found. I ate a mountain of food that tasted politely like nothing, as if the spices took an extended vacation and forgot to notify the kitchen. To make matters worse, I scooped up some Baghali Polo, which visually looked so authentic and picturesque that it belonged in a travel magazine. Unfortunately, eating it felt less like enjoying a traditional Persian meal and more like stepping on a tactical minefield. One second you're having a pleasant texture, and the next you are crunching down unexpectedly on hard, undercooked rice bits that threaten to violently separate your molars from your jaw. The only redeeming grace of the entire operation is that the owner is genuinely one of the nicest, most welcoming human beings on the planet. He greeted me with such warmth that I couldn't even bring myself to look angry, forcing me to sit there at the all-you-can-eat bar chewing my acoustic-hazard rice with a pained, polite smile while questioning every choice that led me to that table.
