Vegetable Combo (kadu/butternut squash, badenjam/eggplant, sabzi chalao/spinach) DELICIOUS!
Barbara W.

What a lovely evening spent at Nora, in its "new to us" digs at 1888 Sylvan Ave in Oak Cliff! I would change nothing! The food was spectacular, the service was warm and efficient, the chef was attentive, the atmosphere was charming! This was our experience at their Greenville Ave location and we were delighted at how successfully they recreated their vibe in the Sylvan Ave space! I highly recommend everything we ordered: the spicy Bulanee appetizer, the succulent Mantoo dumplings (also an appetizer), then for entrees the Qabili Palau with chicken (lamb also available) and the Vegetable Combo (see photo), containing Kadu (my favorite! Butternut squash!), Bademjan (eggplant, fixed in the only way I like it), and Sabzi Chalao (a garlicky spinach delight!) Please go now and be transported to another country! We will be back!

Great Afghani food!

Incredible food, drinks, and service!! I would eat here every day! Every plate from the appetizers, bread, and main course was so delicious.

Lamb Kabob

Stumbled here as I was looking for one place and couldn't find it and opted for this spot. We walked in and wasn't greeted, caught the bartenders attention and was told to take a seat any place we like. Took a spot on the patio and waited for someone to bring us a menu much less a drink. Finally got the menu and asked if we could start with water and she dropped the water off and kept it moving although we knew what we wanted. Got our drinks ordered and food ordered and waited and waited and waited as we watched the people next to us who came in after us get their drinks & food. Finally got our drinks and food. The table was too small to accommodate all the plates to which I had to ask if the plant on the table can be removed. The apricot sour was okay, the potato & leek appetizer didn't meet my expectation. It looked pan fried however it wasn't hot nor warm like maybe it had been sitting in the window forgotten about. The sauce that came with it was thin, even for dipping sauce. The hummus was FANTASTIC! It has chick peas in the it that added texture to the hummus. It had a great flavor and the naan was a great vessel for the hummus. My friend has a salad which was a nice size hand she said tasted good. It was a task to get the servers attention to get the check and I don't recall her once asking how things were. Overall, I would come back for the hummus but I would sit at the bar so I'm not overlooked and forgotten about.

Just one photo of the chicken korma. Lamp shank was great as well.

Amazing food, drinks, and service! The patio seating is so nice. We loved it! Full service bar with a fantastic bar tender!

Went here for a date night. Loved the Interiors but I liked their patio seating especially when the weather is good. Food and service were exceptional too. We tried their tiramisu martini, Texas sagebrush and Nora 75 which were all good. Then we ordered spicy chicken meatballs, lamb tikka taco, chicken with yogurt and chicken from the grill which came with vegetables and saffron rice. Meatballs were good but the lamb was a little dry for me but great flavor. Chicken was really juice and tender and was well seasoned as well. For desserts we ordered firnee and baklava out of which baklava was our favorite. They also serve hookah.

Location Mid town Bishop Arts, Dallas, TX Parking Street or pay lot Atmosphere Very classy/ upscale-middle eastern Service- "Are you part of the wine walk?" Response-"No but we can be" At that we were sold! Outstanding friendly and personable service!!! Seating Outside patio, porch, inside the ables, bar Menu Wide selection of starters, salads, entrees-middle eastern theme although we were told it may change soon. We had the meatballs that I spied another customer eating and really craved-did not disappoint! So good! Delicious sauce! Also had a basic salad that was AMAZING!! Large squares of feta, tomatoes, cucumbers-fantastic feta!! With a balsamic and olive oil! So tum! The house wine-cab and pinot grig-so good! Summary Why wait for a table across the street when this fantastic restaurant has outstanding service, great food, and beautiful atmosphere-?! This place is outstanding!

My friend found this restaurant on Yelp. When we went, it was during a Bishop Bazaar so it was prime for people watching. We sat inside across from the bar and we had a nice view of outside. There was no parking right by the restaurant but thankfully we found some street parking that wasn't too far away. When we got in, we were seated immediately and our waitress brought our waters and took our drink order. If you are getting a lot to eat you may struggle because most of their tables are really small. I tried their old fashioned and my friend and I shared hummus and bulanee and I got the arugula salad. That's when our experience started to go sideways. It took about 10 -15 minutes to get our drinks (it wasn't that busy). Then it took almost another 20 minutes to get our food (only appetizers and a salad!) The only reason I gave them 3 stars is because the food and drink were good. The bulanee was lukewarm but still tasty. The hummus was amazing, honestly it was some of the best I've had. It had some whole chickpeas that added texture, it had a nice amount of lemon juice, and it had tomato and parsley that brightened it up, the naan was warm, everything about it was good. My salad was huge and the ingredients were fresh, and it had the perfect amount of vinaigrette. I really think the waitress was where the opportunity was. I don't know if she had too many tables or what, but the table next to us got their drinks and appetizers before we did and we were there before them. Would I go back yes, the food was good and it is a great place to people watch. Hopefully you don't have to wait as long to get your items but it may still be worth the wait.

Beautiful restaurant in Bishop arts with delicate and deep flavors of the Afghan culture. Cute spot for a date or a group outting- cozy and unique. Great setting- nestled in Bishop arts with a parking lots across the street- $6.75 or so for marking through the app. Pretty good prices for these days- Good good with lots of flavor and seasoned so well. We were very impressed. I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking- ha. Go check them out. I'm glad I finally Got to try them out- always had my eye on them while they were on Greenville. Delicious.

Get More-a at Nora. This place is the first I've been to in Bishop Arts that gives decent portion sizes, which is a welcome change of pace to the equally expensive but petit dishes served at Paradiso, Casablanca, or Eno's. And what's ON those big plates is top notch-- my lamb was perfect, the rice was seasoned perfectly, and it was overall a 10/10 taste. My Girlfriend's dish was as, if not more, amazing. I've never been to Afghanistan so can't vouch for what "authentic" Afghan food tastes like, but if it tastes like this than a trip to Kabul is in high order, Taliban or no Taliban. Our server was super friendly as well, and we chatted about topics far removed from saffron, tekkas, and kabobs. We're new to the neighborhood so the friendliness was much appreciated! Will definitely be back.

Shrimp ceviche

Nora is a very cute afghan, Mediterranean restaurant with great hummus and pita, and a really delicious grilled shrimp ceviche. We didn't love the house red wine, but I'm sure their other drinks and signature cocktails would be great. It is well decorated and service was quick.

Being the only one here right at noon was very quiet haha. This was my first time trying Afghani cuisine so it was for sure different. Nonetheless, the food was good, shareable dishes. Our server was friendly. It's also a hookah lounge so nice decor and furniture.

Arpitha B.

Its hard to find a restaurant that has an open table over the weekends in Bishops. We easily found a table for 10! The ambience is nice as well but the seating is cramped. The cocktails were pretty good! Food was different and great! Ordered rice and lamb, chicken and shrimp platters which were all good!

He's had great success in the Dallas area with Tacos Mariachi, Milagro Taco, and Chimichurri. Pesca features classic seafood entrees with a twist. I've been to Pesca a few times and I'm very impressed. The space is very open and consists of a few booths plus several table/chair combos. On all of my visits, the staff is always super friendly and very knowledgeable of the standard menu plus any specials. Add to it, they have a full bar with several custom drinks which the staff recommend. On my most recent visit, I went for dinner and throughly enjoyed the Blackened Catfish & Crab entree which has easily become my favorite here. It comes with a catfish filet, crab on top and served in a lemon butter sauce. It comes with both asparagus and a garlic mash...simply delicious!! That said, every thing I've had here has been super tasty!! Pesca does have a weekend brunch menu which I still need to try. If you have not visited yet, what are you waiting for. Chef Roger also stopped by our table personally to check on us and make sure everything was good. The restaurant was very clean, the ambiance was great, and the service was outstanding. It honestly made me a little sad to see it so quiet because places with good food, great people, and excellent hospitality deserve to be busy. This time I came for dinner and was amazed again at the food. We came to celebrate a birthday and I opted for the restaurant week menu. I started with the truffle lemon pepper wings which were delicious and savory. My friends had the spinach dip and the shrimp. All really good. For my entree I ordered the truffled lasagna which was tender and saucy. I didn't get much of the truffle flavor but it was delicious nonetheless and the portion was big enough for leftovers. I ended with the butter cake which was one of the best things I've ever tasted! Our server was a nice young lady that was patient and knowledge and about the menu. She was attentive and checked on us frequently. I like Winsome Prime because there is always some good 90s R&B playing. The dining room was dimly lit and perfect for date night. I can't wait to get back.

You winsome, you lose some... and this one isn't winning anything…read more First, I'll give credit where it's due: the service was great. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely pleasant. And the cocktails? Also great. We walked in without a reservation and were told they were booked, so we grabbed seats at the bar. But honestly, the place stayed pretty empty the whole time. Felt a bit overhyped. And while we were happy to try it, the whole 'no seats' thing didn't match what we saw. Unfortunately, the food was a completely different story. The menu descriptions sounded SO good that we were actually excited about everything we ordered. We started with the Smoked Oxtail Rolls, which supposedly have oxtail, collard greens, and cheese. What we got was basically a creamy filling with maybe the whiff of an oxtail somewhere in the vicinity. I could not find an actual piece of oxtail meat, and I didn't see any collard greens either. For something called an OXTAIL roll, I was expecting... oxtail. Then came the Truffle Lemon Pepper Wings. Again, the name sounds amazing. The actual wings somehow tasted like nothing. Not lemon pepper. Not truffle. Barely even chicken. I don't know how to properly explain it other than they had almost no flavor and somehow didn't even taste remotely chicken-y. The Asian Sesame Cauliflower was easily the best of the three appetizers. It was pretty heavily doused in sauce, but at that point I was just happy something had flavor. We actually finished that one. And that was it for the food. We were hungry enough that we fully intended to order entrées afterward, but after three appetizers we basically looked at each other and said, "Meh... never mind." That should tell you everything. Now, the cocktails deserve their flowers. The Lychee Martini was really tasty, and My Last Two Dollars was excellent. It's a $22 cocktail with tequila, mezcal, passionfruit, lemon, chocolate bitters, and a little heat, and it had this really complex, layered flavor. Definitely the highlight of the night. So overall: great service, great drinks, very cool-sounding menu... but the food was booty.

My fav drink of the night was my Match Mucho, never had anything like it, but it grew on me with each sip. These are not guzzling drinks, definitely sip and savor. I didn't like all of the drinks (couldn't get halfway through the Red Headed Oaxacan), but I like the variety and that my palate was challenged. Flavors of all the cocktails were complex with many layers. And the vibe of this place was adult, and low-key. Serious cocktail connoisseurs need to check this place out! Our waitress seemed a little short with us, probably because she was the only one I saw working, and I do feel for her. Still, the interactions felt a bit cold and rushed, which was surprising since we were a calm, easygoing group. We weren't even the "can we split this 11 ways" crowd!
