Let me start by saying I order from tropical smoothie more times a week than I'm proud of. It's fast and easy on the go, especially with the app to order ahead. This location has consistently missed app orders. Today I waited 28 mins after it was supposed to be ready and when I finally inquired, they hadn't even started it. Annoying when you're on a schedule. The workers seem grouchy too. This is not standard for other locations. Edit- after I received my order, I was handed 3 melted smoothies and 2 cold rolls. Apparently my order was made but instead of placing to go orders in the cubbies, they were leaving them on the prep counter while they prioritize in person orders. Once I noticed the condition of my order I brought it to the attention of the cashier and asked for it to be remade. I also said I wanted a refund for my order as I had now wasted 40+mins waiting after it was scheduled to be ready (meaning my online order was placed over 1hr prior!) She called her manager on the phone, and instead of taking accountability, told him I was late picking up the order when I had been standing in the center of the lobby by the cubbies waiting the entire time. The manager refused. I asked to cancel the entire order after watching the 3 staff members cross contaminate everything they touched in the prep area with their gloves. I was able to order my exact order from another location 10mins away that was waiting in the cubbies when I arrived. Business is business. This franchise location is crap. Employees need to be trained. Managers need to have a physical presence rather than only reachable by phone. I will gladly support businesses who care about their customers experience rather than focusing on transactions only. I'm truly shocked that this location is so different than other locations. Corporate should check quality control. read more

I decided to try a new flavor smoothie, the Tropical Dragon Passion and I added energizer and vitamin B12, and it tasted horrible. It tasted like the fruit was old. I had my friend try it and she agreed it tasted really bad, undrinkable bad, so I know it wasn't just me, it was the smoothie. I asked if I could pick out a different one, one that I've tried before and know I like, and they told me no and that I would have to pay for a whole new one. Didn't even offer to give me a refund. The smoothie is supposed to be $1.99 and you can purchase a wrap or flatbread. All 3 employees had no clue on how to put it in the system or even offer the a discount. They made me change my wrap for a flat bread, to see if it would work and unfortunately that didn't help. Then on my smoothie I added peanut butter, well they added Pea Protein which was nasty. So messed up my smoothie & 3 employees couldn't figure out the discount. I am not satisfied at all. read more

Pro... The smoothies and food are always good Con... even though the lady making food is wearing gloves, she's only protecting herself. She touches all over the screens and the keypads where orders come in and then touches the food. Definitely doesn't change gloves between any of that. Second visit here. Usually order from my home base at the Plano 15th street location but today I'm at work so I had to go to this one. Server Tyler was rude AF. Didn't acknowledge me really and asked for a babe for the order, yet didn't call it when it was ready so had to wait an additional 10 minutes to get it as it was sitting on their counter and no one was aware he made it. The real reason for the two stars is that this is now the second time my smoothie has been basically half full. At almost $8 a smoothie I expect a full drink. I'm giving them two stars simply because the Blimey Limey is delicious, but won't be bank to this location. There are other smoothie places around here that give you a full drink. read more

I was craving an açaí bowl so I came to this location because I noticed they were still open. I came in around 7:56pm, an hour before closing. The açaí bowl I got was not worth the 13 dollars, the base was not blended at all. It was still hard rock frozen, like I literally couldn't dig my spoon into it. I realize that I came in close to closing but if they could not make the bowl they should've just said so. The açaí bowl I got was grocery store frozen section quality which is unacceptable with the prices they charge. I really love the smoothies here. They have a great selection to choose from, you can even customize them if you like. The smoothies on my visit today were fantastic as always, however, I didn't feel the staff was very welcoming. The man who took my order today gave me the impression that he wanted us to hurry up and place our order so we could leave. Usually, the service I get here is great, not sure what happened here today, but at least our smoothies were tasty. I got here and was the only one in the store at the time with my friends, i walked up to the counter and the lady taking my order had airpods in and couldn't hear what i was saying and i had to repeat my self four times. for the 2nd thing i ordered she had no idea what i was talking about and didn't know the menu at all, it took my food 15 min to come out and i was the only person in the store, when they came to the table they j dropped the food on the table and walked off without saying a word. then, when my friend went up to the counter to order his food, she repeated the order back to him that he had said, but he never got the food and it wasn't on the receipt. I couldn't even eat the bottom of it because it was so hard. I asked them to make it fresh and was told no and got told to just let it sit out to thaw. I've never been talked to like I was so stupid than when I asked them to make it fresh so I wasn't having a chunk of ice for lunch. I will not be back and giving them my money. read more

I ordered the usual Chia Banana Boost and Açaí Berry Boost. Both were watered down. The flavors could be more pungent. I let them know my concern for one smoothie because I didn't want to overwhelm them with the concern for both. The chia was made again and it tasted way better than the first time, but still not the same as to how I normally get it. I let them know to make it thicker and to bring out more of the oats and it was thin consistency like soda than a smoothie and just tasted like roasted banana. The açaí was hiding somewhere in the second smoothie too. read more

I enjoy coming here for a quick healthy and inexpensive lunch. I particularly enjoy this location because the manager there during the lunch shift is so incredibly nice and offers great customer service. In the past, I have witnessed him carefully putting together my quesadilla, which is awesome considering how in other locations the food comes out so sloppy. Love it so much that I really hated that they opened later on Black Friday as my early start needed a smoothie kick. (No worries - they opened later as it probably didn't make since to open early that day anyway.) Fav is Bahama Mama. Protein can be added to make it more of a meal. I am good with the caloric count as it is about 300. Place is neat and clean - I don't always hang around but like the long table they have set up (as it is perfect for a little laptop work. Extra star is for the customer service and the app. Gives points for money spent with reward that will equal a smoothie. (Well, you'll have to folk out a few cents and tax.) If you order online, then it is waiting for you at the front - or if you come in to order, the folks bring it out to you. Nice! read more

My husband and I love the quality of this quick restaurant! We don't eat out very often but I was out running errands, was starving, and thought this would be a good quick option. However, I went in today and ordered sandwiches and smoothies for us and one of the teenage girls behind the counter was texting with her gloves on right next to the counter...first of all, this is completely unprofessional to be on your phone while customers are around. Secondly, phones are extremely dirty and bacteria-infested and it made me uncomfortable to know she would be preparing our food with her dirty gloves. Management needs to demonstrate proper glove usage with food preparation, especially during a time where every person is more hesitant and observant due to COVID-19. Around 11:30am 03/02/22, we experienced poor and immature customer service. Being covid cautious, we wanted to place a curbside pickup order over the phone in which the caller said was fine. Me and my significant other had to call due to a refunding issue (and the owner who wasn't there was trying to tell us what we got charged for, and even though we had the receipt in our had, we were wrong). This has become my second favorite smoothie place after Jamba Juice. There is one size of a smoothie cup which is pretty large. Most of the times at various smoothie places you have to pick the size cup that you want while hear you don't. It is very filling. So it can be a meal or a treat. They have several extra add ins like protein, energy & flax seeds. So to fully review my visit. Upon entering I was greeted by all 3 employees that I could see. I ordered a Pesto Chicken Wrap (devoured before I thought to take a pic...sorry I was hongrry) & the Island Green Smoothie (greens like spinach & kale & fruit) I also subbed for Splenda (less calories) & added flax. So delicious. There is only one size and initially I thought I wouldn't finish it. But I did and I will be back. Service & Food was 5 Star all the way for such a cute cafe. If they had a drive thru I would probably stop here most days. Tip: there is a breakfast Happy Hour (50% off smoothies from 7am - 10am) noted in the door.
