Probably not return. Simply the value wasn't here for me. Cost did not fully justify the service atmosphere and food quality. It may have 10 years ago. Atmosphere similar to basic places like Chili's or Texas Roadhouse; service ok; food less impressive. See pics. - Broccoli steamed as described = good - mashed potatoes decent but gravy had a strong canned flavor = blah - ribs were fatty and dry on the bottom = bad I could be catching them on a bad Wednesday night. But I don't see myself rolling the dice again.

Have always liked Smokey Bones and this was my first time to the Reading location. So good. Friendly staff, place had strong BBQ smell and the food was perfectly prepared. Good ribs with chicken and sides of coleslaw & baked potato. Took less than 15 minutes from time of placing order to receiving the meal. Extra sauces on table for ribs and chicken & really like the selection. Nothing went to waste as the food tasted good. Service could have been a little more attentive as had to wait for drink refills until almost done eating.

I haven't had Smokey Bones in years and stopped in for a late dinner. I will definitely be back when I'm in the mood for barbecue! We ordered the Pitmaster Selection, which was more than enough for the two of us to share. Both the BBQ Chicken and the St. Louis ribs were fall off the bone and tender, but the pulled pork was very dry. My favorite item was the BBQ Chicken. We ordered mashed potatoes and fries as our sides. The mashed potatoes were creamy but salty and the fries were a little soggy.

    Margaritas

Got a pitcher of margaritas that had at least 1 fruit fly in it...all the waitress did was complain about the bar tender and come back with a new pitcher of margaritas. No acknowledgment. Shame cause the food was good. But imagine if I didn't see it?!

-We came through on a Saturday afternoon, about 3pm. It was the opposite of crowded- we were immediately seated, though it was odd that with the abundance of empty tables, even by section, we were placed right next to other full tables, making it a little awkward. When I first went in, I used the restroom where 2 of the toilets were clogged. After I used the toilet, i washed my hands and saw someone walk by me without washing and when I followed them out, they walked straight into the kitchens. Yes-an employee. My husband and I wanted something that wasn't fried fast food, and this was definitely better than choosing a mcdonald's or burger king. We ordered the pork belly sticks and the shareable plate. Everything was good. I enjoyed it all without the extra sauces, and my husband sampled the sauces, determining his favorites per meat. I also had a well made margarita (no complaints there!). Our waitress was kind. Overall- i enjoyed it (other than the employee not seeming to wash up) but my husband thought it was just alright. He said he would try a sandwich here next time. We would return if it meant skipping fried fast food.

The loaded fry appetizer at Smokey Bones was absolutely amazing. Mouth watering. Jaw dropping. The FAM devoured!

Where to start...first and last time I will eat at a Smokey Bones. Waiting area was full when we arrived a little after 5p.m. Figured we'd have to wait a bit. Hostess gave the standard "it'll be about 15 minutes" to which hubs replied - you have to say that don't ya? Lol - their blank stares said it all. Layout is open and loud -- like cafeteria loud with louder music blaring. Not sensory friendly if that's what you need. On to the food.... 45 minutes later we were seated. Our waitress was great, prompt, very attentive and quick with the refills. I got the rib feast - ribs with 2 sides, garlic toast and drink for $20. It said " house rack". A bit more than a 1/2 rack but just shy of a full rack. Sides were mashed with gravy and mac n cheese. See pic below. 1/2 cup of mashed with canned gravy. But the best is the mac n cheese. It's listed as a premium side for $4.99 extra. Please. Save. Your. Money. It was cooked literally plain cooked pasta with melted cheese over top. No sauce or anything. The ribs were ok. Very fatty and the sauce was just meh. The garlic "toast" was soggy bread wishing to be garlic and toast. Hubs got the pulled pork with fries and baked beans and 2 slices garlic toast. Was about $17. Healthy portion of pork and fries. Pork had no bones but a lot of extra fat. Fries were ok. No extra seasoning. He said they weren't bad but nothing special. Overall it was meh - it was a meal. Pretty much the fast food equivalent of BBQ. Don't think i'll waste my time to come back.

I thought this was a local chain that we might not have in New York, but I've since learned it's not! The ambience is gorgeous, warm and inviting well still having a luxury upscale experience. with a beautiful fish tank that doesn't even have a fingerprint on it. The service is on point, the steaks on point and the side dishes, never disappoint! Please add those glazed carrots to the regular menu because I never knew I liked glazed carrots until I had them there and I blame you for my addiction! The bread and butter are delicious and I feel like you can always tell the quality of a good restaurant by the bread and butter that they put out they take the extra minute to warm up the butter and that really says a lot about customer service to me As I mentioned earlier, I usually go Valentine's Day weekend and if the holiday actually falls on a weekend, I try to go the day before or the day after just because I feel like any restaurant gives a better experience, not on a holiday! But I did end up here one year on Valentine's Day. It was packed. My husband and I assessed Austin's differently. He ordered prime rib which he said was nothing short of perfect. Cooked medium rare as requested, tender, juicy -- he savored every bite. I scanned the menu. Nothing jumped out at me. (I generally don't gravitate to steakhouse-type restaurants.) I ordered a half rack of baby back ribs. My point of comparison is Longhorn's which offers more of a bang-for-a-buck, and in my opinion better tasting ribs. Not to say that Austin's aren't good. They are. Based on the popularity of Austin's, it's clear management knows what they're doing. But I think a small salad and baked potato should be available with the price of the entree -- not worth the extra $7 I was going to be charged. The salad is listed as 'field greens,' -- which it's not -- but reading the menu you'll see they mean iceberg and romaine. The salad was good, enhanced by their garlic ranch dressing. We washed down our meals with well-priced drinks: merlot ($8.90) and Blue Moon ($6.90), then splurged on dessert. Austin's flourless double chocolate brownie a la mode is very rich. One order for two adults is plenty. Austin's is aptly described as a family restaurant. A lot of kids. A lot of noise. Service is friendly and on-the-ball. While not my kind of restaurant, if prime rib is your thing -- this could be the place!

I mean I guess it wasn't that long ago, but it feels like a lifetime has passed in between. The bar that night was full of familiar faces. Groups of friends from both Wilson and Wyomissing neighborhoods had been unified with a common aspiration. After nearly two full days of agonizing rain delays, we were all about to witness the Phils bring the city of Philadelphia its first championship in 25 years (since 1983, before so many of us there that night were even born). This isn't Santino's of course, but it's impossible to separate those memories, which is probably the case for many of the folks still coming here who can remember fondly the mingling with family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. I'm glad this remained a restaurant and didn't turn into another spa or something. It's a bit harder to go to a spa and think hey I used to drink Jaegerbombs right over there by the koi pond and speaker playing soothing rainforest sounds. You can tell just by the sequence of naming conventions (from "Santino's" to "Tino's" to finally "State Hill Craft Cocktails & Kitchen") the kind of vibe they're going for here. The "Tino's" era, though brief, proved that you could keep the neighborhood charm and just slightly ratchet up the presentation, especially in the food and bar departments. Over time the menu has shifted from fine-casual Italian to more upscale comfort food, with wagyu meatloaf, lobster mac & cheese, and the always elegant, always dashing meatloaf patty melt. State Hill Craft Cocktails & Kitchen or whatever iteration of dining establishment will be there 15, 20 years from now (Luxe Carwash expansion perhaps) will bring together members of the community that wouldn't ever otherwise cross paths. New friendships will form, and old ones will strengthen. The atmosphere was electric that night in Santino's nearly 20 years ago. Everyone was elated, even people who didn't watch sports were happy because they could see other people were happy. For one night we could push everything else aside, the weight of responsibility and care lifted from our backs. A reminder that joy could be had, and our existences, though flawed, remained full of promise with even better days ahead. This is probably the least helpful review you've ever read LOL

The main thing is the water took 10 minutes to get to the table and our drinks took a half an hour after the water came. One appetizer came out 20 minutes after that and then another 25 minutes after that the dinners came out. All in all... We didn't get any food for over an hour and 15 minutes. The wait staff and manager had no idea how slow everything was and we were the only table that ordered. Everyone other table was eating already. The ambience is OK... It was moderately busy when we entered, and was getting rather crowded by the time we left an hour later. I ordered one of their specials -- a breakfast burrito with eggs, potatoes, fresh tomato, green peppers, onions, and cheese, then wrapped in bacon and deep fried. The crispy burrito and bacon complemented the fillings nicely, and it was served with a crema sauce on the side. My dining partner got a strawberry cheesecake crepe, which had a generous amount of fresh strawberries and filling, and a pile of whipped cream on top. It too was delicious. The portions for both were perfect -- generous but not excessive. The coffee was good as well, which I can't say about a lot of places anymore. It was very clean and new inside, and the decoration was very nice. Modern and elegant, but with enough natural oak accents, basket-shaded lights, and plants to really brighten the space. The service was also excellent. They were fully staffed with many attentive employees available, and the service was on point. The food came out fast and hot. If I had one complaint, it might be that the A/C was a little strong. It's maybe a little pricey for breakfast compared to diner fare (almost every entrée was $10-15), but the value is 100% there. Excellent food, nice atmosphere, and great service. Definitely a stand-out in the area for breakfast/brunch/lunch, and I will definitely be back.

My review is based solely on my interaction with a manager at Queen cafe…read more (Know that the pic showing "sold out" is after the time to pick up our order and only to show there's no instructions on their site about them being pre order only) TL;DR: We placed a large office online order last night for today pickup. On arrival, we were told the order was only available for Super Bowl Sunday (two weeks away), despite the system allowing us to select Friday pickup with no instructions. The issue was handled defensively, with quick blame, little care and no accountability. Basically ended with a "tough luck better next time" tone. Proceed as you wish. For those who want details:A colleague had been bringing wings from Queen Café to our office on Fridays for a few weeks, and they quickly became an office favorite. It reached a point where team members were coming into the office specifically to enjoy them, even on days they would normally work from home. On January 22nd, we placed a large online order (150 wings) through their Toast system for Friday, January 23rd pickup. Just before arriving to collect the order at the scheduled time, my coworker received a call asking to confirm whether the order was for the Super Bowl on February 8th. At that point, we were already en route and the receipt clearly showed the order was placed for January 23rd. We were told that the wing style selected was only available for Super Bowl Sunday and that only 40 wings were left for purchase that day. This was confusing, because the system allowed us to select that option for Friday pickup with no direction or restriction. Along with this they are normally closed on Sundays as shown in the pictures. When we arrived, we waited patiently to speak with a manager--not expecting extra wings to magically appear, but hoping to understand what went wrong and how to avoid this in the future. Sadly, the interaction was immediately defensive with a very direct blaming tone. We were told the order had "just appeared" at that time in their system and that the wrong option had been selected, with no room for discussion. There wasn't even an attempt to review the receipt that showed when the order was placed and pick up time. I kindly asked why the option was available for Friday pickup if it was only intended for Super Bowl Sunday. The only response was for us to either receive a full refund or purchasing the remaining 40 wings at full price. We chose to take the 40 wings. I asked whether there was anything that could be done to acknowledge the inconvenience, as this appeared to be a system or process issue rather than user error. The response we got was very rude, dismissive and reactive, rather than understanding or solution-oriented. Before leaving, I asked how we should place large Friday orders in the future to prevent this from happening again. We were told to order the same way as before and that the day didn't matter--despite being told moments earlier that the system didn't register the order until noon next day for our pickup time. This left us with little faith that the issue wouldn't repeat itself or if there was concern about if it did. Overall, the interaction felt more accusatory and defensive than customer caring. I understand mistakes happen, but it's how they are handled matters. We were hoping to continue making these large Friday orders a regular tradition with Queen Cafe, but based on this experience, we'll be looking at other options. Advice to customers: If there's an issue with your order, be prepared for challenging cooperation & little consideration from management. Advice to management: Review how ordering options are presented to your customers, take accountability when it's on you/your systems, don't blame your customers, and approach them with some level of empathy to listen for a solution.
