I always see Mission BBQ places in passing but was very happy with my first visit. I am aware of the location in King of Prussia and Wilmington but usually am driving past them. I love brisket it is my favorite BBQ and the way they make it here is amazing. The menu is straightforward and in large type so it's easy to read. We went after the lunch rush and before dinner so the dining area was quiet. They do have smaller tables and ones that can also accommodate probably 10 (5 on each side) or 8 people. If you are in the area and like BBQ or just good food this place is worth the stop. Extras: Ladies room was clean and so are the tables and floor. This location is by far the worst I've ever visited. Overcharged. Lean brisket full of fat pieces, and extremely hard ends on most pieces causing me to spit out the meat from my mouth. Although fat pieces, the brisket was extremely dry. French fries cold. Nobody ever approached anyone eating to check on the patrons as I have experienced at 4 other locations. I counted 7 people just standing around in the back and two people eating meat while behind the counter on oven side of establishment! I would say, don't waste your money here. Saw Mission BBQ across from my hotel on a work trip and decided to stop by for dinner. The store decor and layout is just like a BBQ spot you'd find in Texas! I had the combo and tried brisket and pulled pork and both were so moist and tender. The tables give you an option of different sauces to pair them with. The Mac n cheese was hot and cheesy, a nice crisp crumb topping. The side of cornbread was delicious with a nice crisp outer crust. The best Mission BBQ location between Lancaster and Dauphin County. I went here for Veterans Day. This place does Veterans day up in a huge way. The whole place was decorated. They gave me a free meal with a free drink and even had a special cake out for the occasion. They were extremely busy and still managed to take the time to thank every veteran that came in. We got meat sampler with brisket (you can select a lean or a fatty cut), pulled pork and pulled chicken with sides of French fries (made for order), cole slaw and baked beans. One sampler was enough for two of us to share. Brisket was superb, tasty, lean, easily falling apart. Both pork and chicken were outstanding. French fries - delicious, and both cole slaw and baked beans were some of the very best I ever tasted. There's a Mission BBQ near where we live. However, we've yet to get there (You know---so many restaurants so little time). When we discovered that there was one not far from our hotel, we decided to give it a try. We were here in the late afternoon on a weekday. At that time of day, there were a few people dining in. When we got to the register to give our order, we told the friendly young man that it was our first time here. That prompted him to explain the ordering process to us, which we appreciated. Basically, you look at the menu board (I would suggest looking at their menu online before getting here so you will come knowing what you want) pick what you want and place your order then pay for it. I was surprised to find that you can order baby back ribs by the rib. In other words, you can order just one rib. It's cheaper to order 5 together, so that's what I did. I also got 2 sides---green beans plus mac and cheese. My husband, who has been searching for great brisket ever since he had some in Texas, ordered the brisket plus some baked beans. When I got my meal, I was surprised to find that instead of 5 ribs, they gave me 8---yikes! The ribs were falling-off-the-bone tender and meaty. At each table and booth, there are 6 bottles of different BBQ sauces. I chose a Memphis style one that was on the sweet side as it had honey in it. That was a good choice as it helped with amping up the flavor and adding some moisture to the ribs. The green beans had bacon in them which gave them great flavor. The mac & cheese was run-of-the mill, nothing to write home about it. There was so much food that I couldn't finish it all. The portion of brisket was 8 ounces. My husband thought it was okay, if a bit on the dry side. He used one of the BBQ sauces that had some kick to it. He really liked the baked beans as they had bits of brisket in them. Of course all of this caused him to wish he could have that brisket he had in Texas. For drinks, we both got fountain drinks. I got sweet tea while he got a soda. All in all, it was "A-OK". Service was excellent. If you want to dine at a Mission BBQ, and go with reasonable expectations, you won't be disappointed. read more

I've only had mission bbq at catered events before but going to the actual restaurant is so much more fun! If you're new just tell them and they will explain the menu. With 9 people in our party we got to try a little of everything. We all agreed that all the meats were moist and perfectly smoked. There are 6 different sauces on the table so be sure to try them all. The gluten-free people in our party loved the fresh corn on the cob and the potato salad was zesty and perfectly creamy. The cornbread was "as good as mee- maw's," according to my southern born mother in law. That's high praise! There's a soda fountain but I would skip that and get the sweet tea. Delicious! Unfortunately, I had to still douse it with multiple packets of condiments in order to consume. My family, who can all tolerate much more spicy food than I, absolutely loved and devoured their menu selections. Who doesn't like a side of cow slathered in all kinds of spices and sauces? You vegetarians are missing out in life, just saying. I ordered a brisket platter. The meat was cooked to perfection. It was tender and juicy and was served hot, but not so hot that it had to cool to be enjoyed. I enjoyed sampling the many sauces available at the table. I only wished the serving had been bigger. There was a generous amount of meat, but such deliciousness should come in super sizes! The ambience was nice. Staff was super friendly and helpful in accommodating my wife's food allergies. They showed genuine concern for her need and helped explore menu options she could enjoy. I appreciated the Mission BBQ theme of honoring America's heroes, literally in every direction you looked.
