I always see Mission BBQ places in passing but was very happy with my first visit. I am aware of the location in King of Prussia and Wilmington but usually am driving past them. I love brisket it is my favorite BBQ and the way they make it here is amazing. The menu is straightforward and in large type so it's easy to read. We went after the lunch rush and before dinner so the dining area was quiet. They do have smaller tables and ones that can also accommodate probably 10 (5 on each side) or 8 people. If you are in the area and like BBQ or just good food this place is worth the stop. Extras: Ladies room was clean and so are the tables and floor. They have different BBQ sauces you can try table side. read more

Service was quick, though we went on an off hour, so unsure if it gets busy. But the food was great though the sauces needed some work. The KC sauce was easily the best. Otherwise a great place for some bbq. Wasn't a big fan of the corn bread but the Mac and cheese was on point. read more

Mission BBQ - Brisket sandwich - Barbeque Near Me - Wyomissing, Pennsylvania

This location is by far the worst I've ever visited. Overcharged. Lean brisket full of fat pieces, and extremely hard ends on most pieces causing me to spit out the meat from my mouth. Although fat pieces, the brisket was extremely dry. French fries cold. Nobody ever approached anyone eating to check on the patrons as I have experienced at 4 other locations. I counted 7 people just standing around in the back and two people eating meat while behind the counter on oven side of establishment! I would say, don't waste your money here. Otherwise, drive over to Warminster or Harrisburg. If you drive yo Harrisburg, please tel John that Texas said hi! read more

Saw Mission BBQ across from my hotel on a work trip and decided to stop by for dinner. The store decor and layout is just like a BBQ spot you'd find in Texas! I had the combo and tried brisket and pulled pork and both were so moist and tender. The tables give you an option of different sauces to pair them with. The mac and cheese was recommended to me by the staff and was so rich and cheesy! The cold slaw didnt disappoint either. May stop by again before I head back east! read more

Got into town later than expected and wanted to eat before checking in to a nearby hotel. Truly, I was just looking for a good meal. Little did I know this gem was here. Upon walking in, The Mission IS clear. This place is a place of HONOR. Every square inch my eyes reviewed tells the story of the history, investment, and sacrifice of the citizens of this nation. It is deeply touching. In the midst of all of it, I did not just get a good meal. I got a great meal. There is no waste here, not in focus, effort, service, food, or quality. Everything here is excellent: the HONOR, the energy, the focus, the ambience, the food, the service, the knockout sauces within reach....ALL OF IT! All to the tune of country music which seemed fitting. No waste on the monitors either. No sports, commercials, or news. Just one photo after another of the dedicated citizens of this country who believe in Service Over Self. If I lived anywhere near this place, I would visit frequently. I don't know who this owner is, but he/she/they are themsleves so worthy of honor for this GREAT American Tribute. Wherever you are, I salute you and thank you. I pray God blesses your socks off. read more

Dined in for an early Saturday dinner. No wait time. Food came out hot, generously portioned. This place never disappoints. It's a bit pricey but the food is good. The Mac n cheese was hot and cheesy, a nice crisp crumb topping. The side of cornbread was delicious with a nice crisp outer crust. The best Mission BBQ location between Lancaster and Dauphin County. I will travel to Berks County for dining that's consistent and never disappoints. We also took home the seasonal dessert, which was cherry cheesecake. Very delicious! Wish they had that year round. Pros: Friendly staff, ample seating, clean restroom (although the first women's stall is kinda tight, the door does not swing flush with the wall due to the sanitary bin. You kinda enter on angle.) read more

Coming from California on business and this place took barbecue to a whole new level. Hands down, the best we've ever had! Every bite was packed with smoky, tender perfection, and the flavors were out of this world. The service was just as incredible--welcoming, fast, and genuinely friendly. And the ambience? Perfectly inviting, with just the right mix of warmth and energy and honoring our veterans is a huge plus! We loved it so much, we came back three days in a row for lunch. If that doesn't say it all, we don't know what does! We will definitely eat here for the 4th time if we're ever back in Reading, PA! read more

I had a solid experience. Super clean, and the service was friendly and welcoming. I ordered a sandwich, but I'll be honest, the bun was a miss for me. Ended up taking the brisket off and eating it on its own, and that's where it shined--tender, flavorful, and just really good BBQ. The mac and cheese was creamy and tasty (even with the breadcrumbs on top), and the fries were fresh and crispy. I also had fun trying all the BBQ sauces--definitely worth sampling them all. Overall, I'd say it's a great spot, and I'll be back to try something other than the sandwich next time. Solid 8/10 recommend. read more

I went here for Veterans Day. This place does Veterans day up in a huge way. The whole place was decorated. I had the brisket sandwich and it was perfect. This place will keep me coming back with the taste of their food and for what they do for vets!! Nice job!! read more

had a free sandwich coupon that came with a previous meal when I took it in they would not honor it because they needed to open the envelope in the restaurant. I asked the manager why it had to be opened in restaurant he said to prevent employees giving free sandwiches to their friends... so because they're afraid employees are going to steal they wouldn't honor my coupon read more

We noticed the restaurant as we were driving by and decided to stop for a dinner. We got meat sampler with brisket (you can select a lean or a fatty cut), pulled pork and pulled chicken with sides of French fries (made for order), cole slaw and baked beans. One sampler was enough for two of us to share. Brisket was superb, tasty, lean, easily falling apart. Both pork and chicken were outstanding. French fries - delicious, and both cole slaw and baked beans were some of the very best I ever tasted. We also tried six different sauces with the meat (sauces are standing on every table), which was a fun exercise in itself (loved Tupelo Honey Heat, got 3 bottles to take home). Absolutely delicious meal. Most highly recommended. read more

I love this place! Great with Gluten free (fries done separately)! They are so kind and keep it clean and quick!

Ordered food for the Holidays two weeks in advance. I told them date and time. Get there on time and order WAS not ready. Then the girl packaging up our items half dropped the green beans leaking out the juice. Placed the container of leaking green beans in the cardboard box which leaked thru the box. I ordered cold food to reheat for the next day and got hot food. The person taking the order repeated everything back to me and said he would give reheat instructions for me. Nope nothing given not even a receipt. For 15 people that I ordered for this doesn't seem like a lot of food. read more

Price- you can't beat it. All sides are around $2, and a large brisket sandwich was 12$ Food- The bbq is perfect. Meat falls off the bones. I got the Mac and cheese and it was amazing. Came around 1:30pm on a Sunday, wasn't too busy at all. Received our food quickly and service was great. Food was delicious and the cornbread comes with the meal (literally my favorite part of the meal since they make it so crispy). The only reason I removed a star was because my friend and I found it kind of stupid that they don't take straight military discounts and you have to sign up for their dumb loyalty thing which my friend did afterwards but like it's not stated anywhere ahead of time or anything to do that prior to ordering if you are a veteran. read more

Mission BBQ - Pulled pork & pulled chicken with Mac'n cheese, green beans, French fries and corn bread - Barbeque Near Me - Wyomissing, Pennsylvania

There's a Mission BBQ near where we live. However, we've yet to get there (You know---so many restaurants so little time). When we discovered that there was one not far from our hotel, we decided to give it a try. We were here in the late afternoon on a weekday. At that time of day, there were a few people dining in. When we got to the register to give our order, we told the friendly young man that it was our first time here. That prompted him to explain the ordering process to us, which we appreciated. Basically, you look at the menu board (I would suggest looking at their menu online before getting here so you will come knowing what you want) pick what you want and place your order then pay for it. I was surprised to find that you can order baby back ribs by the rib. In other words, you can order just one rib. It's cheaper to order 5 together, so that's what I did. I also got 2 sides---green beans plus mac and cheese. My husband, who has been searching for great brisket ever since he had some in Texas, ordered the brisket plus some baked beans. When I got my meal, I was surprised to find that instead of 5 ribs, they gave me 8---yikes! The ribs were falling-off-the-bone tender and meaty. At each table and booth, there are 6 bottles of different BBQ sauces. I chose a Memphis style one that was on the sweet side as it had honey in it. That was a good choice as it helped with amping up the flavor and adding some moisture to the ribs. The green beans had bacon in them which gave them great flavor. The mac & cheese was run-of-the mill, nothing to write home about it. There was so much food that I couldn't finish it all. The portion of brisket was 8 ounces. My husband thought it was okay, if a bit on the dry side. He used one of the BBQ sauces that had some kick to it. He really liked the baked beans as they had bits of brisket in them. Of course all of this caused him to wish he could have that brisket he had in Texas. For drinks, we both got fountain drinks. I got sweet tea while he got a soda. All in all, it was "A-OK". Service was excellent. If you want to dine at a Mission BBQ, and go with reasonable expectations, you won't be disappointed. read more

Always good tasty food at a reasonable price served up quickly in a casual atmosphere. Never disappoints.

Never a disappointment at Mission. Perfect atmosphere, great food, always a great special. Love the KC bbq sauce.

I've only had mission bbq at catered events before but going to the actual restaurant is so much more fun! If you're new just tell them and they will explain the menu. With 9 people in our party we got to try a little of everything. We all agreed that all the meats were moist and perfectly smoked. There are 6 different sauces on the table so be sure to try them all. The gluten-free people in our party loved the fresh corn on the cob and the potato salad was zesty and perfectly creamy. The cornbread was "as good as mee- maw's," according to my southern born mother in law. That's high praise! There's a soda fountain but I would skip that and get the sweet tea. Delicious! I'd also like to say that the staff was very friendly. This includes my 8 year old nephew who is full of questions. We definitely felt like family and can't wait to go back. read more

I'm sorry to say that although my family absolutely loves this location and menu selection, I have sadly found it to be too spicy for my palette. I'm sure that I would most likely rate this higher if there were more options which were available with less spice. I had inquired about the least spicy item on the menu from a staff member, prior to ordering, who suggested a chicken sandwich. Unfortunately, I had to still douse it with multiple packets of condiments in order to consume. My family, who can all tolerate much more spicy food than I, absolutely loved and devoured their menu selections. I'd say they are very likely to return in the future, but I may have to find an alternative option for my tamer palette. If you're interested in food with a bit of a kick, my family says to give it a go! read more

Hit or miss. More times miss. If it is done correctly, it's truly solid BBQ. Unfortunately this franchise doesn't quite get it right and often gives you slop. Moist is not so moist and dry is jerky. I have 1/5 times had a decent plate of meat. So be prepared. **updated 8/27/22 for some reason I decided to try it again and it was even worse...I said "I ordered sliced" the response was "this is sliced!" I have eaten at this location a few years ago and was satisfied independent and decided to take the 20 mile drive there today, and was less than pleased. The chicken, if i was at a jamaican spot &had ordered BLACKENED CHICKEN, then I would've understood, but, this was mission bbq, and my chicken looked as though it came literally off charcoals, and was tough to eat as well. The nuggets of brisket were less than desirable, but, in comparison to the chicken, the brisket was Grand. $50+ dollars down the drain. I would've settled for a wawa sandwich, or a burger from sheetz over this today. read more

I placed a takeout order for 10 people for a work lunch. The young woman I spoke to on the phone was super helpful and patient as I went through each order. When I picked up the order, the young woman (not sure if it was the same one I spoke to on the phone) went through each meal and verified that everything was right.
