While we waited for our food, I went outside to check out the patio and stage area that is clearly for live music. It's open and airy; it seems perfect for live music. We soooo wanted to love the food as much as we loved the service and the ambience. Sadly, we were very disappointed. While we all ordered "the basic," which is a croissant with one egg (style of your choosing) and cheese (also of your choosing)." Some of us added sausage or bacon, but nothing crazy. Somehow three of our croissants came out but one was delayed. In fact, when the lonesome croissant sandwich finally arrived, we were almost finished eating ours. To make matters worse, the croissant was burnt. Not sure what happened because we weren't given a reason. And unfortunately that's why this review is only a three instead of a four or five. Anyway, our server said they opened on April 10, 2026. So it's very new. Regardless, I'm really hoping that they work out the kinks because the potential is incredible!

They were served over a generous bed of seasoned peas but, you are buying the scallops not the peas. Entrees we selected were a just satisfying portion size and tasted excellent as well. We usually like to take home some of our main entrees for a later small meal but we ended up eating them both in restaurant. One thing important to note of importance to local diners is that entrees do not come with sides or salads. They must be ordered separately. Portions could have been maybe 8% to 10% bigger. The rice pilaf was good as well as the broccolini. The mashed potatoes were fantastic and the roasted vegetables were what you'd expect. Groups of friends from both Wilson and Wyomissing neighborhoods had been unified with a common aspiration. After nearly two full days of agonizing rain delays, we were all about to witness the Phils bring the city of Philadelphia its first championship in 25 years (since 1983, before so many of us there that night were even born). This isn't Santino's of course, but it's impossible to separate those memories, which is probably the case for many of the folks still coming here who can remember fondly the mingling with family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. I'm glad this remained a restaurant and didn't turn into another spa or something. It's a bit harder to go to a spa and think hey I used to drink Jaegerbombs right over there by the koi pond and speaker playing soothing rainforest sounds. You can tell just by the sequence of naming conventions (from "Santino's" to "Tino's" to finally "State Hill Craft Cocktails & Kitchen") the kind of vibe they're going for here. The "Tino's" era, though brief, proved that you could keep the neighborhood charm and just slightly ratchet up the presentation, especially in the food and bar departments. Over time the menu has shifted from fine-casual Italian to more upscale comfort food, with wagyu meatloaf, lobster mac & cheese, and the always elegant, always dashing meatloaf patty melt. State Hill Craft Cocktails & Kitchen or whatever iteration of dining establishment will be there 15, 20 years from now (Luxe Carwash expansion perhaps) will bring together members of the community that wouldn't ever otherwise cross paths. New friendships will form, and old ones will strengthen. The atmosphere was electric that night in Santino's nearly 20 years ago. Everyone was elated, even people who didn't watch sports were happy because they could see other people were happy. For one night we could push everything else aside, the weight of responsibility and care lifted from our backs. It's a nice place to hangout after work or on the weekends, although it's a little cramped. The bathrooms also leave a lot to be desired. There's a jukebox, dartboard, cigarette machine, and an ATM on hand. The menu consists of sandwiches, burgers, and a wide assortment of munchies, including wings, mozzarella sticks, and onion rings. Note: this is one of the few joints in Berks County that is able to allow smoking indoors (which I believe is based on food/alcohol sales ratio). If you're sensitive to smoke, I'd venture elsewhere.
