Oddly, the "Things" are better than the "Wings." Loaded Cheesesteak is hard to beat- "steak," onions, bacon, "wiz," provolone, and mayo on a roll, then toasted. It is salty, cheesy, greasy- a rich heart stopper, but definitely everything u want in an indulgence. Husband loves the "Steakhouse Select" with its mushrooms, A-1, & breaded onion rings. Sandwiches are sizable as are French fries when you eat-in, which greatly improves the taste and texture of both. The wings are tiny, broken, and overpriced. It makes no sense to name your weakness in the marquee. The sandwiches are expensive, but you get your money's worth. Owner is rude and disrespectful. We like their cheesesteaks and they have decent wings, but we've found ourselves coming here less and less mainly due to the meh staff. Tonight sealed it for us. We picked up food, got home, saw it was wrong and called them. Owner started yelling in the background that we were wrong. We were asked to take pictures and send, so we did. Owner starts yelling that that's what we ordered, even though the receipt on the bag said something completely different. We moved on and called the bank to dispute the charge. I just walked into Dino's to pick up my order where there were 8 employees, three customers and zero people wearing face masks. I said "So, you guys don't wear masks here?" They said it's hot and they get annoying. Didn't bother to ask why they don't have customers wear masks. The wings are absolutely delicious as are the ham hoagies. The portions are of decent size but seem quite pricey for pub style food (sandwiches and wings). They do tend to get busy, so there can be quite a wait. Great for catering larger parties or a game night, but would not be my first choice for a family dinner due to the prices for what it is. One of my favorite steak sandwiches in Berks County and some of the best Pizza in Pennsylvania. They are also a business that stands up for its own rights so 100% worth it no matter if you get the Boss Hog Fries, the Loaded Perogies, or an order of wings. I apologize in advance at this lengthy review but I believe ppl need to know how disgustingly disrespectful the owner treated me this evening. Let it be known before I go any further, I have receipts to back up EVERYTHING. I moved to temple 6+ years ago, around the corner from Dino's. Over the years it's been a good establishment, with good food. Thru COVID, and through inflation I've stayed a loyal customer. Being disabled, convenience is major for me and I am willing to pay accordingly. So if is not abnormal for me to spend easily a MINIMUM of $30week (more often $45-60) on take out. Just This wk (4/24/22-5/1/22) I spent a total of $230. So tonight when I opened my order and saw that it was wrong, I had my bf give them a call. To my surprise I hear him getting mad and then say angrily "ok I'll tell my wife". In a nutshell he was told the girl who took the order had already left, and they have no way of knowing who made the mistake. So I call back, SURELY this has got to be a mistake...I order almost daily, surely they'll just fix the three sandwiches once they realize what customer I am. I mean who had more of a chance of getting the order wrong, my bf reading a list in front of me or an employee of a busy restaurant,who is getting ready to walk out the door for the night? I NEVER expected to be yelled at...told "you've ordered meatball Sammy's before", (yes I just did not order them today!). As he rudely says things like "yea of course you want me to fix it bc I'm a million dollar business owner. Yup got millions so why shouldn't I remake three sandwiches." I was shocked, but thought maybe it's a bad night...I even offered to keep one of the wrong ones, bc even tho I didn't WANT meatball I would've kept it bc I've eaten it before but asked that two subs be fixed. Offered to drive them back. I was met with "fine I'll make your sandwiches but I asked my girl and she said she read it back so I'm not going to agree that we made a mistake but no problem I'll fix your mess up". With this I said "for all the $ I spend there, for this to be SUCH an issue? Just forget it. I just won't continue being a customer" in which the same owner says "what you can't have an adult conversation?? You gonna threaten me??you want me to fix the food fine fine Just you better understand I can't do this for all the customers" i inform him I have NEVER called and asked to have anything fixed or Refunded EVER." I also said" I don't understand how you'd rather lose someone who spends at least $200 a month over fixing $30 worth of sandwiches ONE time??" In which Im then hung up on. Seconds late I'm called back by the owner who says (no hello) "so what are we doin we making your sandwiches or what?" I said "yes sir, I thought that's how it was left, you're going to remake them, we'll bring you these". "Yea yea bc you want me to admit that we made this mistake and that's not the case you've ordered meatballs before" with this I informed him that it was fine I would keep the food but would not be returning" with me mid word, he asked his wife to hang up on me. I will not slander this store and lie about their food being bad or place being dirty ect HOWEVER I will go above and beyond to let EVERYONE AND ANYONE that will listen know to NOT give this business ANY money. NO small business should EVER treat ANY customer so poorly, let alone a LOYAL REPEAT customer. We hear so often about supporting local business and I've always been proud to do so, until today, until Dinos. It is my sincerest hope that they either LEARN an OUNCE of customer service OR if they are not capable, that they go out of business. However, I will have to admit that all the occasions that I have patronized this establishment I have NEVER had a bad experience. My food has ALWAYS been temperature hot, fresh and served by an enthusiastic server. Lunch the other day consisted of bacon cheese fries (to die for), buffalo chicken wrap and grilled chicken sandwich with hot sauce. Now I will say that the hot sauce on the chicken sandwich was "overdone" (see pic) but I attribute that more toward my lack of explanation on how I wanted the sandwich served. If you're coming here and expecting to have a "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives" experience, you'll be disappointed. But if you're looking for a great lunch or quick dinner, you'll be pleasantly surprised. From the sports (boxing) decor to the diamond plating on the wall, this place screams casual replete with numerous TV's scattered about the walls. There is a small bar toward the back of the dining area with about 7 or 8 booths and 5 to 6 tables of four to accommodate sit down patrons. Ordered wings, for which they are suppose to be known for. It was like eating plain chicken, which I could have make myself. Very little to no sauce on each piece, not to mention inconsistent sizes, meaning a flat piece they counted towards my total was smaller in diameter than my pinky and they included that in the order without hesitation! Called manager, she said she'll talk to her husband to see what he can do. She's the manager!!!!! Came back on the line and said if I drive back, they would give me a little cup of sauce. Why wasn't it prepared correctly in the first place. Why should I drive back? Told her where I was from and after driving 22 miles round trip to pick them up in the first place, certainly I was not going to repeat the trip for a little cup of sauce to correct their mistake! Run-of-the mill sandwich shop and nothing more. Wings weren't bad (Hot were decent but the Parmesan Garlic were too salty) but you can tell the wing sauces come out of a jar/bottle. We stopped in for lunch today at the new Leesport location and enjoyed a fantastic meal. Service was prompt and courteous and the food is amazing!! I had the buffalo chicken wrap and my fiancé had the cheesesteak. Both were delicious! And their french fries! They were plain but were fried to perfection and they looked all hand-cut. Really tasty. The food is great but is amazing how two employees can ruin a spot for you. Waitress got our order wrong then got pissy w me when we wanted the correct food. Then waited over 40 mins and never got the correct food. When I went up to ask where our food was I told it's not there fault by the waitress. Then the cook got involved and when I explained to him the issue he told me they are under staffed and I'll have to just wait longer. Now 50 mins into no food. I will NEVER eat there again. EVER. WHILE DINING THERE I recently asked to have a hockey game put on one of their TV's. Well, one person WHO WORKS THERE wanted something else on (and was visibly irritated that the channel had been changed) so they changed the channel back to what THEY wanted. After several years of way above average meals I was finally disappointed in my food from Dino's. The Mac Daddy fries rocked as usual but the wings came with clumps of seasoning on the skin. Called them back because the total she gave me was way off. THE PRICE OF 50 WINGS INCREASED BY $12.00! OUTRAGEOUS! THAT'S WHAT THEY USED TO CHARGE FOR 25 WINGS! Seriously, $25 to $37?? Robbery. Just thinking this is either the reason for the other location closing their doors OR they had to increase their prices BECAUSE the other location failed. This is a relatively new business, and I always like to give small/independent companies a chance. However, after hearing how the owner/manager talks to the staff, not caring what the customers hear, I won't go back in again. I don't care to hear profanities and yelling when I am patronizing a business. Hearing staff be verbally abused really makes you lose your appetite. Human resources training is sorely needed here.
