Cheesesteak hoagie: come with lettuce, tomatoes & mayo.
Doris R.

First time here. The hostess was very friendly when she took our orders to go. The place is nicely decorated and has plenty of room to sit and enjoy the food. I ordered a cheesesteak hoagie on seeded bun, a chicken cheesesteak, fries and a coconut cream pecan dessert. Total $48.00. Pricey but great sandwiches - my only disappointment were the fries. They give you a nice portion but they place them in a paper bag so they lose their crunch and they are soggy and limp. Overall great place & would recommend. *Note: if you want your sandwich cut in half you have to ask.

Dirty Philly

Came here to try their cheesesteaks Ordered the dirty Philly and the parm fries the fries came in a paper bag which would have been ok except they were cold and so only ate a few. The cheesesteak was packed with beef and had a good zip from the long hots. Ordered the non seeded roll. Cheesesteak was very good but the fries bumped from a 5 to a 4

I read a lot of reviews on fb about this place. It was finally time to try it. They do not have a parking lot. It is street parking only. We were greeted by the lady behind the counter when we walked in. She explained that you order at the counter, and you are welcome to sit at a table and eat, but the food comes wrapped to go. When you order you are asked if you want a seeded or Non- seeded roll. We ordered the Original Cheesesteak, WIT, cooper sharp and a side of their house sauce. (WIT = with onions. Philly slang) We also ordered the Drunken Chicken sandwich which has Vodka Sauce, fresh mozzarella and crispy prosciutto. We also ordered a side of fresh cut fries. When we walked in there were only two other people in there, but the place got busy within 5 minutes between phone orders and walk-in's. Our food came out in about 10 minutes, I thought that was pretty good since there was a phone order for 6 sandwiches right in front of us. The fries came in a paper bag, there were enough for a family of four! The bag was close to half full. Let me say that my wife is not a typical fan of the shaved rib eye cheesesteak. She prefers the chipped steak kind. She approves of this one! She was pleasantly surprised by the taste and the ribeye didn't seem overly fatty. The seeded roll added to the taste as well. The drunken chicken came in a box cut in half. There was plenty of chicken, the sauce was good and it was toasted. Very good sandwich! I am glad we finally came here, there cheesesteak I would put up next to any Philly steak. The seeded roll added to the flavor on both sandwiches. Our bill came to $50 for 2 sandwiches, side of sauce, fries and a soda with tip. We will be back, this place is now my personal Best Cheesteak in Berks County!

Drunken cutlet with fried prosciutto, vodka sauce, and fresh mozzarella

Let's just say if you love Philly this little gem in sinking springs right outside reading will help you with that craving, we stopped in for lunch today and left stuffed and simply put satisfied, jd's makes some killer sandwiches, amazing fresh cut fries that in my opinion trump those down on the boardwalk, the service is top notch, the ambiance is especially awesome if you love the city of Philadelphia and Philly sports, but make sure to leave room for dessert because Marissa's homemade "black Joe" cake with peanut butter icing is on an entire other level of deliciousness, we can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious sandwiches.

Half no cheese

This is the second time that I have ordered from here first time was wonderful. This time I was looking forward to this Philly cutlet sub. It was dry. I think there was cheese on the bread, but you couldn't see it. The broccoli rabe on it well I originally am not from here so I didn't know that the Philly puts red pepper in it, which I am very sensitive too. But kept the sandwich because that's my fault that I didn't look into it, but I did eat the cutlet and did not taste any balsamic on it. Was disappointed with this sub.

Family owned and run shop. Every sandwich comes out with love. If you're searching for that "authentic Philly cheesesteak" JD's is in the next category. It's okay to do yourself a favor and level up!! Just don't expect to have the cliche experience. The memorabilia on the walls is a great touch. Some local touches too to the sports theme.

Hand, breaded, chicken, cutlet, overflowing with crispy, prosciutto mozzarella, and an awesome tomato sauce

The fresh baked bread for sandwiches is everything, and my daughter often requests just loaves of bread lol The have the best cheesesteaks and chicken parmigiana sandwiches around, and the bone in wings are perfectly crunchy and not too small or too big. Their pizza is the only one my kid will eat from anywhere and even though it's rather simple, it's done well with good sauce, a crispy crust with a slight chew, and good amount of cheese. Right on par with real NYC pizza. You also shouldn't skip the tiramisu if it's available! (It goes quick!) I can't say enough good things about this place and my whole family eats here at least once a week, the family who owns it are wonderful and really care about the food they are selling and their customers and we will never eat any other pizza place as long as we live in the area! Also, ignore the vegan Karen in the reviews. They aren't mind readers, but if you ask for no mayo or no sauce or anything like that they always follow your directions! I always get my wings sauce on the side because it's too spicy for some people and I love it and in the past year I've been going here not once has my order been sauced. In fact the ONE mistake I ever had with an order in all that time was MY fault (ordered online) and they still fixed it for me anyway.

Service is terrible. We got there on a Sunday night unbeknownst to us it was close to closing. We…read morewere standing looking at a menu thinking about ordering the lady said are you gonna order or what?

The menu selections all sound incredible that it was difficult to choose. I wound up choosing the Mediterranean Omelette and was quite surprised by its massive size! It was so big that I was thankful for the available take home boxes. It could easily feed two people! (I didn't take food pictures because I was there for a work brunch.) The prices were very reasonable for what you get and the portions. The lack of 1 star was due to the lack of direction when you entered the store. All of us weren't sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. There was confusion if someone was supposed to take your order or you were supposed to order at the counter since all the tables were equipped with menus and staff were delivering food to tables. The seating was limited. I would not recommend it for larger parties of more than 5/6. It's more comfortable and accommodating to parties of 4 or less. Cute decor included paintings from local artists for purchase at reasonable prices. Clean and well maintained facilities. I'd definitely recommend and also plan to revisit in the future.
