    Dirty Philly

Came here to try their cheesesteaks Ordered the dirty Philly and the parm fries the fries came in a paper bag which would have been ok except they were cold and so only ate a few. The cheesesteak was packed with beef and had a good zip from the long hots. Ordered the non seeded roll. Cheesesteak was very good but the fries bumped from a 5 to a 4

Let's just say if you love Philly this little gem in sinking springs right outside reading will help you with that craving, we stopped in for lunch today and left stuffed and simply put satisfied, jd's makes some killer sandwiches, amazing fresh cut fries that in my opinion trump those down on the boardwalk, the service is top notch, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance is especially awesome if you love the city of Philadelphia and Philly sports[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], but make sure to leave room for dessert because Marissa's homemade "black Joe" cake with peanut butter icing is on an entire other level of deliciousness, we can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious sandwiches.

I read a lot of reviews on fb about this place. It was finally time to try it. They do not have a parking lot. It is street parking only. We were greeted by the lady behind the counter when we walked in. She explained that you order at the counter, and you are welcome to sit at a table and eat, but the food comes wrapped to go. When you order you are asked if you want a seeded or Non- seeded roll. We ordered the Original Cheesesteak, WIT, cooper sharp and a side of their house sauce. (WIT = with onions. Philly slang) We also ordered the Drunken Chicken sandwich which has Vodka Sauce, fresh mozzarella and crispy prosciutto. We also ordered a side of fresh cut fries. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we walked in there were only two other people in there, but the place got busy within 5 minutes between phone orders and walk-in's.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our food came out in about 10 minutes, I thought that was pretty good since there was a phone order for 6 sandwiches right in front of us. The fries came in a paper bag, there were enough for a family of four! The bag was close to half full. Let me say that my wife is not a typical fan of the shaved rib eye cheesesteak. She prefers the chipped steak kind. She approves of this one! She was pleasantly surprised by the taste and the ribeye didn't seem overly fatty. The seeded roll added to the taste as well. The drunken chicken came in a box cut in half. There was plenty of chicken, the sauce was good and it was toasted. Very good sandwich! I am glad we finally came here, there cheesesteak I would put up next to any Philly steak. The seeded roll added to the flavor on both sandwiches. Our bill came to $50 for 2 sandwiches, side of sauce, fries and a soda with tip. We will be back, this place is now my personal Best Cheesteak in Berks County!

This is the second time that I have ordered from here first time was wonderful. This time I was looking forward to this Philly cutlet sub. It was dry. I think there was cheese on the bread, but you couldn't see it. The broccoli rabe on it well I originally am not from here so I didn't know that the Philly puts red pepper in it, which I am very sensitive too. But kept the sandwich because that's my fault that I didn't look into it, but I did eat the cutlet and did not taste any balsamic on it. Was disappointed with this sub.

Family owned and run shop. Every sandwich comes out with love. If you're searching for that "authentic Philly cheesesteak" JD's is in the next category. It's okay to do yourself a favor and level up!! Just don't expect to have the cliche experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The memorabilia on the walls is a great touch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Some local touches too to the sports theme.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My husband and I assessed Austin's differently. He ordered prime rib which he said was nothing short of perfect. Cooked medium rare as requested, tender, juicy -- he savored every bite. I scanned the menu. Nothing jumped out at me. (I generally don't gravitate to steakhouse-type restaurants.) I ordered a half rack of baby back ribs. My point of comparison is Longhorn's which offers more of a bang-for-a-buck, and in my opinion better tasting ribs. Not to say that Austin's aren't good. They are. Based on the popularity of Austin's, it's clear management knows what they're doing. But I think a small salad and baked potato should be available with the price of the entree -- not worth the extra $7 I was going to be charged. The salad is listed as 'field greens,' -- which it's not -- but reading the menu you'll see they mean iceberg and romaine. The salad was good, enhanced by their garlic ranch dressing. We washed down our meals with well-priced drinks: merlot ($8.90) and Blue Moon ($6.90), then splurged on dessert. Austin's flourless double chocolate brownie a la mode is very rich. One order for two adults is plenty. Austin's is aptly described as a family restaurant. A lot of kids. A lot of noise. Service is friendly and on-the-ball. While not my kind of restaurant, if prime rib is your thing -- this could be the place!

Also, think they have the best Mac n Cheese (tho I do miss the fresh herb component). Still a favorite, but hoping some of the former glory is restored on my next visit!

Even the complementary bread and butter is high quality--a bit torturous, in fact, since you don't want to spoil your appetite for the what's coming. Go big and get the Delmonico ribeye. Perfection. The oysters with the perfectly vinegary migonette sauce is a great starter, as is the butcher's bacon. Also, pro tip, you can get the salads in half sizes and you wouldn't go wrong with any of them. The caesar is my favorite, but recently had an outstanding wedge as well, with plenty of bleu cheese.

I thought this was a local chain that we might not have in New York, but I've since learned it's not! The ambience is gorgeous, warm and inviting well still having a luxury upscale experience. with a beautiful fish tank that doesn't even have a fingerprint on it. The service is on point, the steaks on point and the side dishes, never disappoint! Please add those glazed carrots to the regular menu because I never knew I liked glazed carrots until I had them there and I blame you for my addiction! The bread and butter are delicious and I feel like you can always tell the quality of a good restaurant by the bread and butter that they put out they take the extra minute to warm up the butter and that really says a lot about customer service to me As I mentioned earlier, I usually go Valentine's Day weekend and if the holiday actually falls on a weekend, I try to go the day before or the day after just because I feel like any restaurant gives a better experience, not on a holiday! But I did end up here one year on Valentine's Day. It was packed. I got the mini bandeja paisa, my wife got some chicken cutlet with plantains and my baby girl got the cheeseburger with fries. They had 2 different sauces; one's some mayo type sauce and the other, their home made jalapeno sauce. That jalapeno sauce was some of the best sauces, period, that I've ever had - it had a nice kick, but not too spicy, a hint of sweetness, but more tangy and flavorful... So good that we bought their big bottle ($15). 2 days later and we are halfway done. :( My baby girl was making a huge mess with her PEZ candy and they were dropping all over, but the lady who took care of us, was extremely patient and understood our frustration. She was graceful towards us! Everywhere I look, and I don't mean to offend anyone but, too many "American" restaurants that serve the same or very similar dishes and there isn't much around that offers distinctive cuisine, but this place is different and I was glad that we ended going there, especially after going to a very disappointing restaurant the night before.
