The waitstaff is solid but the food and drinks were just mid. The whole establishment is set up weird. The shrimp appetizer was nothing special but my mother in law enjoyed the rice dish she ordered. My wife said the cheesesteak was ok but that there are better places in Reading to get one. My burger was cooked well done and I ordered medium rare. The toppings were good but when you cook the burger to the point of dry it doesn't matter. The taproom they have is 1000% better and has a better vibe and flow. The cheesesteak egg rolls were the only thing that actually popped food wise. I don't get why the cheesesteak was so meh.

On the road again. Looking for a good burger with good atmosphere and found it here. Liberty ale House proved to have a great smash burger and the fries were well cooked and well seasoned. Good beer selection with both domestic and local. Service was excellent, felt like one of the family when I arrived. Highly recommend for a good burger and a good beer.

Great appetizer selection, salads & burgers. Very nice atmosphere with a comfortable open air eating area. The service is always on point! Good place to watch a game!

Great tavern food. And what is tavern food? Well, it's comfort food. Fish & chips, pub pretzels, burgers. That sort of thing. At its most literal core, comfort food is what makes you comfortable. So yeah, it's most likely not going to be pig tongue or beef tartare or goose liver. Rather, it's chicken & waffles or plump meatballs served in house made sauce. Each and every dish is made with love and care. There's a nice equilibrium here. They aren't trying to do too much, and they work within their means. They know it's not gourmet, and that's not the point. It's all about delivering quality food using local, fresh ingredients. Hopefully the Liberty Ale House survives the pandemic. Things are looking a bit rough. I mean shit, it looks like they fell behind on the rent for their website. That's what, $50-100 per month? Probably way less. Just tried to go on there and it was shut down. If they can't afford the website monthly fee, I just hope they can afford their actual property payments. We're all rooting for you, Liberty Ale House. But damn, keep your website up and running. Pay that extra money. That's the only way some people can find you and browse your menu. If you lose that, you lose your online presence. Then people assume you've gone out of business. Just stay alive. Fight that good fight. And continue serving up the finest brews and the heartiest of comfort food.

Good affordable food with tasty seasonal drinks! If you're looking a place to watch the game this is the spot. The waiters check on you a reasonable amount of time.

We visited Liberty Ale House on a Friday night at the recommendation of a coworker. An immediate issue upon arriving was parking. There appeared to be a small lot behind the bar however it was very full so we had to park on a side street. Outside of that I have nothing but positives to say. The inside had a very steam punk vibe which I liked a lot. We ordered several appetizers and meals, all the food was great! As a craft beer enthusiast what I really liked was the large selection of beers. They had something for everyone. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, our waitress recommended several dishes as well as beers. I'd say if you're in the area it's definitely worth a visit.

For food, of course the chicken wings are their staple food and the quality is good. They have a standard of allowing you to choose multiple wing sauces for wing orders of 10 or more. This is great because it doesn't restrict you to one flavor for large orders of wings. The burgers, pasta, and salads are also very good. My server was very helpful and exercised very friendly customer service. Overall a good experience. I will visit again when in West Reading, PA.

Fun restaurant and bar in the Reading, PA area!…read more My friends and I were traveling through Pennsylvania and we wanted dinner, a place to watch a football game, and good food/beer. We found Brewer's on Yelp and and were very happy with our visit. Brewer's had a local feel to do it and a lively atmosphere for a Thursday night. The food menu has a large selection of different types of food so almost anyone can find something to eat. Great selection of beer with a lot of regional offerings. Also seem to run a special for different types of alcohol for most nights of the week ($6 large draft IPA beer on Thursday night). I ordered the brisket meatloaf sandwich that came with BBQ sauce and gouda cheese on top. The sandwich was very tasty and I especially enjoyed the pretzel roll it was served on. I liked that I was able to substitute a side of perogies instead of chips. The moon ranch grilled chicken sandwich was a little underwhelming and the moon sauce was the only positive to that sandwich. The service was good and our server checked back in with us multiple times during our visit. There's also a beer outlet with a large selection of craft beer attached to the restaurant so you can take local craft beer home with you. They call themselves a small place with the BIG selection!

Throw in some TVs, a big U-shape bar for maximum area, thus making it my favorite bar shape. Have you ever been standing in one of those straight-line bars, and you're about three layers of people away from even sniffing the bar. It's claustrophobic, it creates a needless bottleneck, it feels like you're about to be crushed. Not here. It's open with super high ceilings. You can go outside and play cornhole in the crisp fall air. The whole place is easily accessible either by using the parking lot out front or the even bigger parking lot in the rear. I think there is some sort of hidden ballroom downstairs for private events. Every now and then you see a whole wedding procession just casually stroll on through. I guess it's the hot destination, which makes total sense when you take a step back and can see Sly Fox for what it truly is, which is your cookie cutter craft brewery bar experience you've seen countless times up and down the eastern seaboard. I gotta give it to them, Sly Fox was one of the few breweries to break through to kind of the ultimate level. To the point where it goes well beyond just having your beer appear in local bar taps, but to be the establishment itself, and in this case, a successful chain of them. With its headquarters in Pottstown, it's always nice to see success stories like these with local roots. I will look back and think fondly of these days before it becomes a giant evil mega corporation snuffing the life out of smaller startup breweries like it once was by the dozen. Until then, might as well enjoy the ride.

Wife, daughter and myself first had three games in the alley, which went by at good time for three games. But the real treat was when some of the customers exited this little eatery as we bowled, we couldn't help but smell the food being served just behind us on the furthest end of the alleys. When we came inside, Michelle had greeted us pleasantly, and asked if I needed a chair moved as I was in a wheelchair, but the tables were perfect height and had no trouble at all getting a place to eat. ^^ A few other people were dotted around different seats as multiple TVs played various sports, as we started looking on the menus of what was making our mouths water. My daughter ordered the Nashville Hot Shrimp, Wife had the chilli, and decided to get a small speciality pizza, Ham with fig sauce ... ?... I decided to get a bowl of the creame of crab soup and sweet tea. Food took a small while to make, but when it came out, it was AMAZING. The soup was in a wide styled bowl with crackers, and no lie. It was perfect. Then my wife had started on her chilli, and she said it was exactly how her mom used to make it from North Carolina, it was THAT Good. Daughter had started on her hot shrimp and was happily bouncing in her seat as she loved the heat and the taste. Then when me and wife got done with the bowls of OMG Goodness, then she offered me a piece of her pizza, and I tell you, I NEVER Had such an outstanding combination on a pizza before as I had here. It was a white flat bread pizza, and the ham was perfect with crisp edges, but the best part was the sweet fig sauce. It was perfectly balanced with the salty meat and the sweet drizzled sauce on top. Michelle came by and asked how we were doing, and she just smiled as we told her how good the food was. She had let us know the menu was changing, and thanked us for letting her know what we liked, hopefully they will keep our choices on those menus, as they will be choices we will definitely order again, the next time we head there for bowling. So please, when you get food there at Alley Oops, tell Michelle how good your choices they are, and see when they change the menu, they keep the choices on. I couldn't recommend this food eatery place highly enough, as seeing how excellent the food is, and Michelle's pleasant personality made the day for us. We WILL be back again... ^^ Cheers and God Bless... Deaf Gryphon ^^
