It really is a shame that the food is so delicious here because the terrible service really negates that. We've been twice so far, and our orders have been wrong both times. Our server at least gave us the mistake the first time, so we had something to eat while we waited. Even if she paid no mind to drink refills or the desserts we ordered which never arrived. However, the second time we had to wait an hour for our food. Meanwhile, watching tables that came after us receive, eat their food, and leave before we even got our food. Our server also avoided us to the point where I had to get my own drink refill from the bar. Onto the food- tots, fries, and chips? All amazing. Wings? Can't go wrong. What an absolute amazing sauce experience I had the other day here! The food here is quite tasty and yummy, I'd definitely recommend the wings here!! We went on a a Thursday night for dinner. It was a dine and donate and we wanted to support the Relay for Life Berks event. We had been told that Thursday was Seafood night and we were excited for dinner. We were there a little before 6pm and dinner is served until 8:30. After we decided what we wanted (and only then); were we informed that they were out of clams. We then decided on the steamed shrimp and crabby fries. It took a long time to get out food. Both items were lukewarm. There was no visible crab in the 'alfredo' and the fries were limp. Very disappointed. Have been going in since we have had to visit a relative in the hospital. Have not been here for years. The food and service are good. Staff friendly and surroundings are clean except the carpet really needs a cleaning. There was one server we had that was not very "with it" she was too busy eating and we had to wait pretty long for a beer....the place was not very busy when we were there. The next time we were there, they gave me the wrong order, it happens and I did get the correct order so all is good. We will go back, we love supporting local businesses. read more

My husband and I currently live in Florida but we're visiting Pennsylvania, our hometown area for a week and a half. We attended church with some friends and decided to go to lunch afterwards. One of our friends suggested Klingers. We had been to klingers on Carsonia Avenue and thought why not? Upon arrival we were greeted promptly and happily, we were seated immediately and drinks were taken also immediately. Soon after our orders were taken and within no time we had our food. It was hot and it was delicious. The wait staff was very friendly, the food was very good, the ambiance was actually really cool too with the airport right out the window. The only bad part was nothing to do with the restaurant, but no planes or helicopters were taking off. That was just a joke. It was really really awesome. read more

The service was great as always but the food preparation is inconsistent. The hostess and our servers were welcoming and cheerful. I treated a friend for lunch and we were both excited for the wings. We ordered them as appetizers and got burgers for our entrees. Service was very slow that day. We got our drinks within a few minutes but it was 45 minutes before they brought our wings. Somehow the couple who were seated about 20 minutes after us got their wings within a few minutes --but they had a different server. Although we asked for extra crispy wings they were almost undercooked. I was very embarrassed since I had really talked up the delicious extra crispy wings. We each ate only one piece because we were super hungry. Fortunately our burgers and sides were delicious but neither of us wanted to take home the leftover wings. They were not worth resurrecting and the Jamestown BBQ sauce was clearly not the same as when I'd had it before . I've been there several times at different times of day. The food delivery has been just as slow most times. I don't mind as long as it's worth it but this time, those wings were among the worse I've ever had. We all know better than to send food back so for now I won't be returning to Klinger's nor would I recommend it to my friends. Had lunch today at Klingers. Been a while. We parked our planes right out front which was nice. The waitress was quick to take our drink order. She came back in a bit and took our order. Much to my surprise our food came out quick and perfectly prepared. Our waitress provided excellent service. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was very good. Being a fan of Klinger's on Carsonia, I was thrilled to see that its newest expansion was replacing the much maligned (and deservedly so) Malibooz Bar & Grille, which was an insult to bars and/or grilles across the globe. Klinger's, which now has three locations, is, well, a chain. Every location serves the same menu, at the same prices, in the same atmosphere. They created a brand and an image, and they're rolling with it. I'm a fan of the front of house staff - they're much more amiable than their predecessors. I'm NOT a fan of the kitchen - it's slow, and just as the cooks that came before them at Malibooz (unless they were retained?), still don't know how to cook a burger to order. Again, why ask the customer how they want it done if it's going to come out well done regardless of what they say? Overall, it seems Klinger's has fallen into their comfort zone. They've settled for banal monotony rather than trying to attempt something new. "If you always do what you've always done, you will always get what you've always got." The below-average rating isn't because this is a bad restaurant, per se, it just brings absolutely nothing new to the table. It falls into the pit of mediocrity, fading into the backdrop of numerous other Berks County restaurants, which are neither memorable nor worth a special visit. You can't knock the original Klinger's for these breaches of ingenuity, but for new restaurants opening, the goal should be to innovate, not live in the past. The city is on life support; it's begging for pioneering trailblazers to lead the charge. Klinger's at the Airport, sadly, does nothing to improve its brand, nor the dining scene in Berks County. read more

I ordered wings to go for lunch. They were "ok" nothing special. The sauces for the wings were different but also just ok. I won't go her for wings ever again. The wings were over fried and some were like crunchy. At the bottom if my wing basket was assorted deep fried mystery crunchies from other dishes that weren't from my order!? We've been going to Klinger's since it opened. It is very convenient to our house and on those nights where we just want something close by this is where we go. The food is your average fare. There are no chefs working there -- just on the job trained cooks that can prepare the mostly premade entrees. I like the pretzel appetizer and the wings are pretty good. Nothing inspiring about the rest of the choices though. The pizza tastes like Ellios (which I admit I actually like -- it's a childhood comfort food for me) and the "Philly" cheesesteak is as bad as any cheesesteak called a Philly cheesesteak outside of Philadelphia. The service is extraordinarily hit or miss -- sometimes we have great service and other times it takes forever for the meal to arrive (it is usually cold), or 30 minutes goes by after we are done before the server asks, "is there anything else?". During a recent Saturday night visit (around 5:00PM) the place was busy but there were open tables. However, we waited 25 minutes, and no one had waited on us yet. Several of the waitstaff saw us and no one said, "I'll be right with your" or "I'll let your server know you are here." We left and went somewhere different. Klingers does provide a nice view of the airport and during the summer it is fun to watch the planes come and go. The outdoor seating area is set up like an afterthought -- there was some grass and some concrete outside the backdoor -- so they set up some uncomfortable tables and chairs and called it the outdoor patio. We do sit out there on nice days because it's the only place around with outdoor seating that isn't on a highway. We will keep going to Klinger's, but we know what to expect and have fairly low expectations -- it is very convenient for us. read more

As its name states, Klinger's At The Airport is situated within the small Reading Regional Airport. The Airport serves business, freight and military fliers, while Klinger's appears to be an eatery favored by the locals. The dining room is spacious and wood paneled, featuring angled glass panels along the roof line. On the evening of my visit, torrential rain, high winds and abundant lightning provided the dining "entertainment;" it was actually spectacular. Klinger's, a four-location local chain, specializes in bar food, burgers, sandwiches, wings, salads, pizza and an assortment of country-tinged entrees. The atmosphere is that of a sports bar, but with poor television reception (with frequent outages), the outdoor spectacle seemed to capture more attention. Admittedly, this probably wasn't a typical night! I ordered the haddock 'po boy which came with a generous portion of well-made crispy fries ($11.49). The sandwich, a deep fried frozen fish fillet, was strictly "okay," but the tartar sauce which accompanied wasn't very good. Service at Klinger's At The Airport was clearly hit-or-miss. Four different servers were encountered, only one of whom seemed to have adequate customer skills. Although she didn't serve my table, one waitress in particular was roaming the dining room muttering obscenity-laden rants about someone or something. A nearby family with young children were visibly upset by her conduct, although I didn't see them complain. My visit to Klinger's At The Airport was "interesting," and the food was reasonably-priced and adequate. That said, I'm not sure that I would want to return on a more normal night. read more

Great bar food (wings, nachos, etc.), great burgers & sandwiches but what I enjoy the most are the loaded French fry baskets - either the buffalo chicken or the Philly cheesesteak! Flew in for some lunch, or 1st time visit. They were about half full when we got there. Great atmosphere, clean and friendly staff! Our waitress was very good, attentive and a good sport with us joking around. I got the Cuban Sub with Fresh Cut Fries that were crispy ... and my wife got the Crab Cake Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries and a caramel dipping sauce, excellent! Both were VERY good! It didn't take long to get and they hot and tasty! My wife generally gets a Crab Cake Sandwich and it was far better than one she got at another restaurant at a near-by Airport we flew into the previous month. Wow! Finally a good place in the airport. I definitely hope it stays as it sure is good! My husband and I came here one night after several recommendations. We were quickly seated by the friendly hostess. Our server was Shelly, who delivered excellent service. They have a good selection of beer and liquor. They have a nice little bar setup. There's a ton of tables so it's great for groups. My husband and I started off with the stuffed mushrooms and wings. The mushrooms were large and well stuffed. They also came out piping hot. The wings, Jameson sauce, were excellent. The wings were of decent size. The appetizers came out quick too. My husband ordered the shepherds pie which was huge. He said it was some of the best he's ever had. I had a Cuban, which was good. My only thing is that it could have come out a bit warmer. The sweet potato fries were good as well as the dipping sauce. The beer selection is on point. As for the food it is average at best. When we first arrived we were sat quickly and then waited for 15-20 minutes for our server. The Phillies game was on so I was entertained but my wife, mother in law and sister in law were growing anxious. Our server came and was interesting calling my mother in law "mommie". I'm all in with some charm (Pittsburgh is yinz, Baltimore is hun) so I was more entertained than others in my party. My sister in law ordered wings and even made a special request which they met and they were amazing! We all ordered burgers which were all way overdone. Terrible! We have had the Stromboli on several occasions and it was always good. In fact, we thought it was the best we ever had. Not this time...After waiting a longer than usual time, our Stromboli and French fries came out. The fries were dark brown and cold. the Stromboli was lukewarm at best. You could tell it had been baked enough, but it must have sat somewhere before being brought to us. There is no way the Stromboli should not have been piping hot. As far as the fries, change your oil, it will make a world of difference. Not going back again. read more

I got a Bloody Mary-type drink that was supposed to have bacon in it - I didn't see any, but maybe it was blended in? (Let's pause and consider blended bacon. ). We flew into RDG yesterday evening (04/07/19) just to make a dinner run to Klinger's Restaurant. Klinger's is set up like a sports bar with lots of TVs and live entertainment on Saturday night. The restaurant is in the terminal and is open even when the terminal is closed although you will have to walk through a gate behind the tower to get to it after hours (gate code is 351). The folks in the tower were very friendly and helpful in getting us to the restaurant. The restaurant itself is great, excellent food and nice atmosphere (very clean) with a great view of the airfield. The portion sizes were very generous, prices reasonable and the staff was both friendly and efficient. We flew up from VA and this will now be one of my go to $100 burger runs! read more

Horrible!!! We went for a band,that was advertised to start at 9:00pm on the website,however when we arrived it was a 10:00 pm start. Our waitress brought our party one round of drinks, then when the bar got slammed, she was bar tending and we never saw her again. The others in our party ordered food, and the dirty dishes remained on the table for over an hour after they finished the meal. My husband and I go there 2x a month. We keep waiting for service to improve. It's not happening. After waiting 15 min my husband finally went to the bar for drinks. The host possibly manager came over with water. He apologized that we had to go to bar for drinks. He took our order. Ditzy waitress comes over and says I see you went to bar for drinks..observant. she said do you still want a waitress? Told her we already order with host. There were 2 waitresses on and a total of 6 tables. Half of who were served. It's a shame as we like the place. This might be the last time we went. Went to clingers for a drink with friends they took 20 mind to attend me payed for my drink and they tried to tell me I owed my drink I had payed for and I got a Stella and they still tried to charge me for the drink I had already payed for with the Stella and they treated me less because I was Hispanic after I gave them a 30 something dollar tip for just a couple drinks . Wow... what a disappointment. First when we arrived there were three personal at the reception desk not busy, it took awhile before one finally said can I help you. We were seated for awhile and finally our server came over and said " she forgot she had a table ". When we asked what was on draft she stated the obvious swill, Miller, Bud etc. when asked if they any special on tap she repeated the swill list again then finally pulling out a list on special. She didn't read it, just plopped it on the table and we picked from there. She came back with the beer and we gave our food order. She disappeared for a long time and the came back and said the kitchen is slow tonight. We got our food, it was ok. When we got the bill we were kinda shocked. Being good brew drinkers and travel to a fairly amount of places that serve good brews at a reasonable price. We were charged almost double per brew then what we pay at local places. So we left there vowing to never return and went to the Barley Mow in West Reading and Liberty Taproom in Shillington for good brews at a good price. read more
