If you're looking for a solid dining experience in Wyomissing, Coastal Grille is absolutely worth a visit. I'll be honest, I didn't know much about this place going in, but I'm really glad I went and I'll definitely be back. Walking in, the first thing you'll notice is a beautiful, large fish tank built right into the wall on your right. The restaurant is dim and upscale-feeling, but still very family-friendly and not loud or overstimulating, so you can actually have a conversation. They have both booths and tables, and the space is very open and spread out. As a parent, you can even strategically seat your family in view of the fish tank or the windows to give the kids something to look at. It's great for a casual family dinner, a date night, or even a birthday celebration. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible with no ramps, you can roll right in to your table. It's located in a plaza but set apart, so parking was never an issue. Plenty of spots, including handicap parking up front with just a short walk to the entrance. They have a solid variety on the menu including alligator bites, burgers, pasta, salads, and more. It is on the higher end price wise. Most entrees start around $14 and up, and even the kids meals begin at $8.90. The cocktail menu is extensive and the dessert menu is worth a look too. They also have a lunch menu where prices vary a bit more favorably. I ordered the Coastal Cheddar cheeseburger burger with no tomatoes and it was excellent. Very fresh, well seasoned, and served with shoestring fries that were equally on point. They also bring out a ciabatta loaf with butter to start, which was a really nice touch. Food came out quickly (always a plus). The staff is genuinely incredible. There's a tag team mentality where anyone on the floor can help you, refill your drink, or check on your table. My server was very attentive, and even when they got busy someone always stepped in. No reservations needed, at least when I went which was on a Sunday around 1pm. Highly recommend! read more

Excellent food! The soup flight was a great experience. My daughter enjoyed the crab corn chowder best. It was a bit too peppery for me to fully enjoy. My favorite was the Lobster Bisque. It was creamy and deliciously balanced. The clam chowder tasted like "old soup" as per my daughter's review. It was OK, but did taste like it was canned and therefore we didn't eat more than a few spoonfuls of it. (The crab and lobster soups were gone.) We both thoroughly enjoyed the gator bites. They were well prepared and very tender. My daughter enjoyed stated that she was surprised it reminded her more of chicken than what she had expected. The dipping sauce added a nice touch and was not too peppery or spicy. It was well balanced. The seafood gnocchi was filling and flavorful. My daughter enjoyed it and had enough leftover for another meal the next day. I thoroughly enjoyed my lobster roll and ate the whole thing. There was an abundance of fries, which I did not eat. They were good, but did have a bit more of a greasiness than I prefer. The drinks were typical Coke products, which wait staff were attentive to keeping filled. The ambiance is a great place for a casual quality meal with family, friends, work colleagues, or a date. The salt water tank in the "lobby" is always nice to look at. The place is always clean and well maintained. The booths are spacious and you can talk comfortably without being crowded by other patrons. Service was great Jadyn was attentive and sweet. We came in for a late dinner not very hungry but she was so nice. We ordered 3 of the specialty drinks a soup and salad, calamari and alligator bites. Everything was delicious no rush just chill service she was on in but not overwhelming. We topped it off with Keylime pie and an amazing banana bread cake with salted Carmel that did not disappoint. Why the hell is it so dark in here?! Coastal Grille takes 'low-lit ambience' to an extreme. If you're in the mood for salad, gather up four friends and order one Cobb for the lot of you. I'm exaggerating the size, but a portion is almost obscenely large. (A fellow at the next table commented as the waitress set the plate down in front of me.) With that said, the Cobb salad hits all the marks. And their homemade garlic ranch dressing --ask for it on the side-- is a good choice. Based on a Yelper's exuberant recommendation, we split an order of calamari. I think his/her proclamation that it's the best ever is debatable, but nonetheless the calamari has rings, tentacles and a perfect fry. I particularly enjoyed the zingy sweet chili dipping sauce. I didn't try T's fish tacos but he gave it two thumbs up. The coleslaw, which I did taste, was something we'd each order again. And wine! Bottles start at $33. We ordered the house chardonnay, which was refreshing, light and a smooth sip on a hot day. Like many restaurants of this ilk, the menu is diverse, and prices pretty reasonable. Went here on a Tuesday night. It was not that busy. I had the gnocchi which was amazing. It was $24. Everyone at our table enjoyed our food. The service was not great. We were asked 3x if we wanted bread but the bread never came. The server didn't refill our drinks and after waiting for 20 minutes I had to sell out someone to take my card so I could go. We're from out of town, we were looking for a nice fine dining seafood restaurant and we found just the perfect spot. We both enjoyed an absolutely wonderful Chilean sea bass dinner. It is rare that the restaurant hits all the marks; service, food, cleanliness and atmosphere. This place did for us on a Saturday night no less. We didn't have a reservation and they seated us immediately at 5:30pm. Our server was great and super professional. Our food arrived super fast. I did let the server know the potatoes were not hot just so that they knew for the next person. I would have given 4 stars because of this but what happens next made it a five star experience. The manager came by and asked about the potatoes. I explained they were barely warm but tasted great. He said "can I get you another one to go so you can experience them hot?" We were headed to a show so I declined but thanked him. That was some old school manager skill right there! So impressed. He even checked back after dessert and thanked us for coming in. Great place for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We both started with cocktails: a smoked margarita and an espresso martini, both delicious. Our soups were both hearty and tasty. I had the crab & corn chowder, he had the lobster bisque. Both were perfect for a cold day. Then came the salads. He had a side Caesar- delicious. But if you're not a fan of garlic, pick something else. The dressing is very garlic-forward. Mine was a full sized Cobb salad, and it was enormous! This is a nice restaurant, the menu is heavily seafood but they really have a bit of everything.We were given delicious bread to start. I ordered the lobster grilled cheese. My husband had the crab cakes. He really likes his crab cakes. My lobster grilled cheese was good and had a good amount of lobster in it but the bread was a little burnt on the one side. The fries that came with were great. My kids shared the kids cheeseburger which they seemed to like. They had a big drink menu but we were a bit far from home. Had dinner here recently and had a great experience. The wait staff was very friendly and professional. The food was delicious, perfectly prepared, and timely. The restaurant has a beautiful interior even if on the outside it's not much to look at. Overall, could not have had a better experience. I personally had the grilled Mahi Mahi with the potatoes au gratin. Both were delicious. Others in family enjoyed the fish and chips, the Boston Baked Haddock, and the Chilean Seabass. Everyone left happy. Seafood is of course their specialty but the restaurant does offer other choices on their menu (steak, chicken, ribs, vegan/vegetarian) if someone in your party doesn't care for fish or has some other dietary need. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice dinner out. It can get expensive depending on what you order, but there are plenty of less expensive options for those on a budget. I have been here twice. This place is amazing. The Filet Mignon here is absolutely phenomenal, and the fish n chips are to die for. I love the fact that the restrooms use hand dryers instead of paper towels as this is better for the environment and more sanitary. I also love the fact that they show MLB baseball on the TVs at the bar considering the fact that Reading is close to Philadelphia. The lobster bisque was comically-orange and thicker than yogurt, but took it home and diluted it. My guest and I had margaritas. My 3 Amigos tasted like bad bottom shelf tequila with a squirt of lime. His was some orange flavored concoction that he begrudgingly took a few sips of. Gator bites are dope. Crab cakes were yummy. Steamed broccoli was cooked in buttery goodness, so def not healthy. My other guests got fish and chips (good choice), a dry-looking chicken entree, and ribs (smelled great). Lobster-Crab dip was satisfying. This was my second time dining at this place and it will forever remain at the bottom of my list of recommendations.
