Had another great experience w/ a few setbacks. I miss the bread basket. The rolls are fine, but the former basket of varietals was special. Also, what happened to the Kona coffee rub ?? Was our absolute favorite & husband reported the steak was bland without it. On a positive, love they acquired a pastry chef. My to-go Coconut Cake was divine. The Ice Cream Affogato is brilliant in its simplicity! The Sautéed Mushrooms incredible! How much can you do w/ a mushroom ?? Ask the chef! Also, think they have the best Mac n Cheese (tho I do miss the fresh herb component). Still a favorite, but hoping some of the former glory is restored on my next visit! read more

Willoughby's absolutely never misses. I can't think of anything I've had that didn't wow me, and the service is impeccable. Even the complementary bread and butter is high quality--a bit torturous, in fact, since you don't want to spoil your appetite for the what's coming. Go big and get the Delmonico ribeye. Perfection. The oysters with the perfectly vinegary migonette sauce is a great starter, as is the butcher's bacon. Also, pro tip, you can get the salads in half sizes and you wouldn't go wrong with any of them. Very underwhelming and overpriced. If we didn't have a $125 gift card to spend I would have been very upset. I got the scallops and they were overcooked, and the flavors of the rest that they came with was just a miss. I got a side of Parmesan risotto so I could eat something else with it and that was also underwhelming. I ordered the "peanut butter explosion" for dessert and there was no peanut butter in it. It was literally just chocolate. The best dining experience we've had in years. The restaurant itself is very nice. Everyone we encountered on staff was pleasant. We had the Wagyu meal for 2, a tomahawk chop, which came with appetizer, salad, potato, vegetable, and dessert. Everything was wonderfully prepared. Our server was exceptional. Oh my goodness this restaurant is A-mazing ! The atmosphere is relaxing, the decor is so pretty, and the food !! We both had shrimp cocktails then I had a filet and my husband had a bone-in ribeye and they were sheer perfection. Delicious sides as well. I like dimly lit restaurants, but I would saynl it was almost too dark inside. With that being said, I apologize for my dark photos, I didn't want to light up the room with a flash. My kansas city ribeye was cooked perfectly medium rare with a purple center. I was pleasantly surprised that it came with green beans and Yukon gold smashed potatoes. Usually at this type of restaurant everything is a la carte. I will almost never complain about too much bacon, but my Brussel sprout hash had more bacon than Brussel sprouts. I didn't get a picture of the cheesecake because it vanished once it hit the plate. Absolutely deliciously and was finished with a torch on top. Stopped by last month to take some teachers out for a meal before they began the academic year. This place is good but not great. Let me start with the great things: the appetizer, the soccer dishes, the desert, and the service. I love the Filet Crostini; it's underordered and underestimated. The other items are ordered much more frequently because they are safe such as calamari and Charcuterie Board but I think the gorgonzola sauce makes this dish. The side dishes such as baked potatoes (looks kind of like mashed) and asparagus are seasoned to perfection. I also love the arugula salad; it has a lovely citrus balance to it. The Mac and cheese I think is a must with whatever your getting. The texture and taste again balanced out the streak For dessert, the peanut butter chocolate indulgence is a good choice. Very sweet though so unless you love that sugar, share with someone. Shout out to my service Alli who was phenomenal at attending and explaining everything. She really knew her stuff and tended to all our needs before we even needed to ask So for the "ok" part. The soup we got (French onion) way way way too salty. I am fan of seasoning but holy... After 2 spoonfuls it was inedible. Now, the surprising "ok" factor for me was the steak itself. I get med rare (always and forever). The steak came out parts borderline raw. I did have it sent back which only made it slightly better. I understand that a big steak is hard to cook and the middle ain't going to be perfect but holy.... I hope they were using a temperature gauge at least cause it was for sure rare/blue rare level initially. I would have preferred everything else to be ok and the steak great cause you know ... My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary here last Monday. We started with drinks (Brooklyn for me which is a version of an Old Fashioned (so smooth) and a peach cosmopolitan for my wife) along with calamari and fresh bread. (We asked for more bread when our dinner came out... it was that good) The pieces of calamari were thicker than we're used to but delicious with the provided sauce. For dinner, I had the 8 oz Filet (medium) which wasn't seasoned much but so tender. Great if you want to taste the steak. Came with asparagus and butter-garlic fingerling potatoes (chefs choice) along with a second Brooklyn ;) My wife had the lobster ravioli. She thought the lobster was good but wished the sauce was creamier. She ordered a side of the bacon/brown sugar Brussels sprouts which she liked a lot along with a Brooklyn :) Our waitress was on point.... She was there when we needed her but not absent or overcrowding. She even brought two glasses of Prosecco (on the house) after finding out we were celebrating. Very thoughtful and unexpected. We always like to bring friends here for special occasions. Six of us met to celebrate my birthday and my husband and I becoming first time grandparents. Wonderful service and food as usual. Always such a nice dinner. Drinks and service are always on point. The only thing that I don't understand is the last two times I have eaten there and have food left on my plate the waiter/waitress will collect your dish and give you a to go container. Both times when I got home all my food was not in the container? I almost always save half my food (due to the bread and appetizers prior) for another meal later in the week. This time I purposely saved half of my brussel sprouts which were amazing and half of my steak which was done exactly how I like it, however, the brussel sprouts were missing from my container. Note to self-- in the future I will ask for the box and collect my own food from now on. read more

I had made reservations for Monday night, we walked in and very pleasantly greeted by the women at the door, and that was the last time we received friendly service. Our server Allison came to the table made her recommendations, we end up ordering the wagyu for two, a side of scallops and each a cocktail. The scallops were over cooked, the cocktail was less then stellar, in fact I took one sip and didn't drink anymore of it. I really would have been fine and left a better review of that was all that was wrong, however, the overall lack of service was just sad. Other times while dinning here, the service has been stellar, however, last night was lacking to say the least. It was almost as if we were a bother taking up two seats in the restaurant. A server that wasn't even our own was more helpful by prebussing our dishes and asking is we needed anything, when our own hardly spoke to us outside of taking our order and her initial speech. We definitely felt as if our patronage wasn't wanted. I will definitely not be going back. I've worked in the service industry for many many years and always treat every customer the same, they are there to enjoy their evening, so it's my job to ensure that happens. While working in the industry I try my hardest not to be picky or a difficult customer because I know how it is, but we left having a terrible experience overall. read more

Very sad to write this review. I've been to Willoughby's 3 other times prior to tonight, all great experiences. I brought a friend for a first time experience and it started off bad from the host stand. We asked for a table and none were available which is absolutely okay! We asked if we could go to the bar which the host replied of course! "You looked dressed like you should be at a bar somewhere"... it felt extremely back handed and just left a bad taste. We tried the calamari, very good a little salty for my taste but overall good. Ordered our entrees and soups that took about 25 minutes to come out. The French onion and lobster bisque were both absolutely delicious. Though only a tiny piece of lobster in the actual bisque. Our entrees arrived shortly after we finished the soups. My friend ordered the scallops, absolutely delicious! I ordered the Prime NY strip that came with chef's choice of vegetable (asparagus) and "mashed potatoes". The steak was seared perfect and had a great flavor, however the asparagus was slightly bitter and the mashed potatoes were almost "thin" instead of a rich and creamy mashed potato that I was hoping for. Bartenders were very nice and attentive. Overall, after my friend's first impression, they won't be back and unfortunately, I don't think I will for a while either. read more

Celebrating our wedding anniversary. Everything was great. We appreciated the music not being too loud. We could hold a conversation without shouting at one another. The lighting was nice, it was on the dimmer side but just brighten off you could still see your food in the menu, etc. but it gave off a nice vibe. For starters, he had the lamb lollipops and I had the filet crostini. The lamb lollipops were cooked order, he ordered medium rare. They had a really nice flavor were cooked perfectly. It was a very generous portion was a very nice starter. The fillet Cini was absolutely delightful. It was covered with a Gorgonzola cream and balsamic glaze. You could taste the filet without the cream overpowering it. Each Cini had a generous portion of thinly sliced fillet, which was nice. Both of these appetizers were well worth the price. For dinner he had the scallops and I had to dry aged bone and ribeye and added scallops. His scallops came in delightful cream sauce. My ribeye was cooked to order perfect medium rare. The scallops were absolutely perfect. Golden brown all over melted in your mouth , my meal also came with Yukon, mashed potatoes and green beans which were each buried delightful. We took dessert to go. I had a wonderful piece of vanilla cake with peanut butter frosting. The cake was light with a nice vanilla flavor, and the peanut butter icing was very delicious a d not overpowering . He had the cheesecake which had a Brulé topping, which was just as delightful. Our waitress was wonderful, and very attentive, but not intrusive the way some waitresses are. Overall was a very lovely experience and what highly recommend. I visited last night for my dad's 70th birthday. The restaurant is very nice inside and within seconds of arriving we were greeted and seated. Everyone was so pleasant and attentive. I started with the lamb lollipops which were beautifully frenched, tender and delicious. Next I had the seared duck manhattan it was in a wonderfully sweet reduction which played nicely with the duck. The other members of our party were also wowed by their meals of salmon and a5 wagu steak respectively. The staff members explained all the menu options and were able to answer any questions we had with ease. Overall an amazing experience and I would love to return in the future. read more

I sincerely want to be very fair in this review so I will comment per key area. The service was extremely nice and attentive however not connected in essence with what we wanted as guest. When visiting the table it was " everything looks great" vs " how is everything". When I was seated I asked " can you please tell me if the beer is cold or you use chilled glasses , response " we pour our beer at the table". SO I took a chance and simply did not drink the beer lol , it was warm. The salid was outstanding , one of best I have ever had ( Cesar ) . The main course was a Kansas City prime. I am sure I will anger the cook ( oh well ) I have been blessed to have eaten steak at some of the best places in the world as well as fun places like Building 24 ( also in Wyomissing ) At B24 I have had a steak on a salad at B24 and its fantastic , the comparison should not even be in the same review but it is for a reason. The taste of the B24 steak was fantastic and unique not obtainable at home. The steak at this restaurant was clearly high quality but it was not prepared in any memorable manner. At a temp requested of medium, it was dry and tasteless , no juice at all. I can only assume not prepared correctly because I should not be able to cook a steak with exquisite taste at home that outperforms what I am receiving at a fine restaurant. The side ( Brussel sprouts ) upgraded side , were so undercooked my fork could not go through them, the mashed potatoes were outstanding ( also an upgrade) The prices were very reasonable for similar dining with inclusive options but we simply wanted different sides. In closing I left a 20% tip because I never went to hurt the server over the overall experience and our server was extremely kind and respectful. I even said to my wife , I may try it again with a different steak but sincerely our first experience was really low par and not unique on a level expected for fine dining. Last comment , the menu listed many of the steaks with marbling, very typical of certain cuts, but not the cuts listed by this place. The bartender took forever just to acknowledge me to place an order. I had to ask for a menu twice. Once it was time to order I then had to flag down a waitress and ask if she could just put my order in because the bartender clearly could care less. The server went to the end of the bar to let the gentleman know(bartender with shoulder length hair) and he finally came over. I ordered a Macallan 12 neat and a ginger beer separately to drink. The bartender brought over an alcohol "beer" ginger beer. I let him know that I was wanting a non alcohol ginger beer. He looked at me with confusion as if I was making this type of drink up. With a serious face this young man told me that he's never seen non alcohol ginger beer and that I was wrong about it. He was annoyed that I sent the ginger beer back and his service reflected it throughout the night. Absolute terrible service. Came here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday on a Saturday evening. We had reservations for 7pm. By 8pm the place was filling up. We were greeted by our waitress and served with drinks promptly after. He had a Whiskey sour and I had a glass of Chardonnay. Both were perfect. Appetizers: Mozzarella with Prosciutto. This was delicious. It was perfectly grilled and the right amount of balsamic glaze. Soup/salad: We did the Wedge salad and a Lobster Bisque. The salad was fantastic. However, the soup was probably one of the worst lobster bisques we ever had unfortunately. It had such a strong fish and sherry taste to it, it was not good at all... Entrees: Boyfriend did the Delmonico Ribeye which he loved. He added the Gorgonzola crust and served with asparagus and fingerling potatoes. I did the Filet Mignon with a side of Bearnaise sauce, mashed potatoes and asparagus. We were also curious about the Baked Mac & Cheese so we did a half order (only $4 and was huge!) Dessert: Even though we were completely stuffed, it was a birthday celebration and had to end it with the Hot Lava Cake that was served with vanilla ice cream. The atmosphere, service and quality of food was absolutely amazing. We both had a TON of left overs! I went there with three of my friends for dinner. Fantastic service, and all the staff was very nice. The problem I had was when I ordered a Caesar salad it came with two stalks of romaine lettuce with parmigiana cheese on top and all the dressing was at the bottom. Two whole stalks? Uncut? I ate here four or five times during the week I spent at the hotel next door and (perhaps sadly) never got past the appetizer menu. But if that's any indication, everything else must be great at well. My absoute favorite was the Frech onion soup. It had just the right amount of umami, and they used proper onions -- not a sweet variety (Viadlia, Walla Walla sweet, Mauis) that seem to be the rage. Those do NOT make a proper French onion soup. I did think it could use a bit more cheese so after the first time I asked for extra, and they gladly accommodated. On another occasion, I indulged in the steak tips with bleu cheese, and they were excellent as well; juicy and succulent, with the cheese adding a nice bit of salty bite. One of the locals I met highly recommended that I indulge in a steak, but the weather seemed too warm for a meal that heavy. Were I visiting in the fall or winter, I'd definitely go for it. I ate at the bar and Kyle and John, the bartenders, were unfailingly attentive, which I appreciate especially when dining alone. They made me feel welcome indeed. And the host/manager always found time to exchage pleasantries as I was headed out the door and back to my hotel. Highly recommended for food, service, and upmarket ambience. read more

Reservation started out great meaning we found good parking from there on is when my experience went to absolute crap. When we entered the establishment we waited 30 plus minutes to be seated for a reservation we made 3 weeks in advance. Once we were finally seated we both order 2 over priced sub par cocktails it tasted like watered down liquor and left allot to be desired. We ordered ourselves a seafood tower and the oysters seemed like they were 3 days old and my bowel movement later night would confirm my suspicions. We then followed up the seafood tower with scallops and there so called "A-5" wagyu that tasted like they ordered their meat from wish.com and it came in on a caravan from Mexico my wife's scallops were overcooked and so rubbery she could have used them later that night during fun time if you know what i mean. i didnt even bother getting dessert as i could All-ready feel my gut rumbling like i just pulled through a taco bell drive through and the only thing on my mind was not blowing my pants out on the ride home. read more

I wish that Yelp would allow for half stars as I consider this place to be more like 2 1/2 stars. Willoughby's on Park is on its second incarnation. Originally, the owners took over a defunct TGI Fridays and created Willoughby's Bar and Grill. That eventually closed and they rebranded themselves as Willoughby's on Park with a new concept as an upscale restaurant. I had had my eye on getting here for a while but it was only on this last trip to the area did we go. We were here on a Tuesday night around 5 p.m. Business was slow then but gradually picked up a bit. One thing we noticed is that the customers tend to be older folks (with some being older than us). I did like the decor here. However, the lighting was very dim. In fact, we had trouble reading the menu! Our waiter pulled out his phone to provide some lighting for my husband. Another thing we liked --- service was excellent from start to finish. To start, we ordered drinks. I had a caipirinha which was very well made. My husband had a Bloody Mary which he said was made from a mix and he found it to not be good at all. For our first course, we ordered soups. I had the lobster bisque which was mildly flavored and had just enough salt. There was no sherry at all in it but I enjoyed it as it was creamy though a bit stingy with the lobster. My husband had clam chowder. He found it to be bland and said it had more potatoes in it than clams. It had him wishing he could have Legal Sea Foods' version. We were given a basket of bread along with some whipped butter, which was decent. For my main course, I chose Salmon Piccata which consists of: "pan seared salmon with a lemon caper butter sauce, risotto Milanese and vegetable du jour" (which was zucchini). This dish was a real letdown. The salmon was overcooked, thus dry. At first, I couldn't find the "lemon caper butter sauce". However, as I dug in, I discovered that it wasn't put on the salmon, rather it ended up on the side. The risotto, while properly cooked, was very bland. The zucchini was julienned and sauteed plus it turned out to be tasty. My husband had the 8 oz. filet mignon. It comes with the vegetable du jour and the potatoes du jour which were Yukon gold mashed potatoes. He said the steak wasn't very tender but on the positive side, it was cooked to his liking. The potatoes were nothing to write home about. All this cost $95 + change before the tip. At that price---especially at a restaurant that brands itself as upscale---we expected much, much better. Would we go back? No, we won't. If we want upscale dining when in the area, there is another spot that does it much better. read more

We had a wonderful Valentines Day eve dinner. Started with the Charcuterie board. A wonderful assortment of meats and cheeses including the most amazing whipped goat cheese with a lavender infused honey. Wow! The board also include some smoked mussels which really added a great pop to the platter. Next we had the grilled Caesar salad. I will never Not grill my romaine again. It was the best salad I've ever eaten. I recommend you keep the white anchovies included. The add a touch of briny ness that is classic to the dish. For the main course we had the duck. Perfectly seared to a medium rare with the most enjoyable crispy skin. Love it. The risotto was fantastic. A perfect accompaniment. Finally for dessert we had the lava cake. Make sure you save room. What an amazing dinner we had last night! Started with the calamari which was perfection, and I don't even like calamari. It came with a fabulous garlic aioli that was scrumptious, I was even dipping my bread in it. Then...lobster bisque which was the best we've ever had and we've had it from Seattle to Boston. The Caesar salad was great. The tomahawk steak was luscious. We got an au poivre sauce that was delightful but the steak was so nicely flavorful that it really didn't need it. We also loved the Mac and cheese. Service was spectacular. Overall an absolutely fabulous experience! If forced to nitpick I could only say that the bread could be warmer and water should always have a slice of lemon. read more

The other night, my sister and I took my dad to Willoughby's for his birthday. We've dined there a few times before and noticed a gradual decline in quality. While the steaks and appetizers were acceptable, the drinks were overly strong. Our main issue was that our side dish arrived only after we had finished our meal. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, I understand that mistakes happen, but the situation could have been managed better. When our entrees arrived, we inquired about the side dish and were told it was on its way. Halfway through our meal we were informed it had been overlooked but was now in the oven. By the time our meal was over, our waitress asked if she should just pack up the side dish. No manager ever came by to apologize or address the mistake. Additionally, the mac and cheese did not hold up well when reheated, making it a waste of money. Overall, the lack of managerial intervention and the poor communication and quality regarding the side dish left us very disappointed. read more
