I was reading over the reviews. I honestly think that some of them are not for this Pizza Como. One person complained about the chicken Caesar salad. I don't know how you can give a bad review for something they don't have. Some mention the quantity of meat on a sandwich. You get the same amount of meat as anywhere else. The only difference is Pizza Como doesn't fold theirs over and stuff them in the roll. Someone also mentioned the roll being stale. First of all, that is impossible since they get fresh rolls everyday. The person may have not realized that the rolls are always toasted. They must have mistaken toasted for stale. read more

Returned to Como for 1st time in years. Some things have changed; next generation has less patience for customer bullsh*t LOL. (I brought in looong-held onto free pizza cards, told "no" & treated to them audibly b*tching about it in the back despite putting up no fight). But that wasn't enough to turn this Italian lover away (after-all, b*tching is their love language). What hasn't changed is their great tasting pizza! It is as remembered- a near perfect bake that is a light but not flimsy crust, cup & char pepperoni w/ curled crispy edges, sauce & cheese present, but not overwhelming. More impressive is the Special Stromboli containing ham, salami, cheese, pepperoni, sauce, onions, sausage, sweet peppers, & mushrooms. Generally I shy away from bolis w/ too many ingredients that produce a soggy bottom, but not theirs! Crust stands up to the weight of all those ingredients without feeling heavy or tough. read more

We ordered a couple of pies and a few dozen wings the other night for pickup. The pies were pretty standard...the wings were less than to be desired. We ordered buffalo and Parmesan peppercorn. The wings came battered (without sauce) and seemed to be air fried. They did supply the sauces on the side in cups. I wouldn't recommend ordering wings from this particular establishment. Family owned and operated. The pepperoni pizza was excellent. I also had a large #4 which is a must have...shredded lettuce which is a must have on an Italian sandwich. The oil on the subs reminds me of Jersey Mikes. This is a must stop and try place. Super friendly and very affordable. read more

This is a pizzeria with great intentions but a product that comes up just a bit short. Man, it kinda hurts me to write this, because if you check out Pizza Como's social media pages, you can tell right off the bat they are very passionate about what they do. I mean, it's all about being part of the community and interacting with their customers. When it comes down to it, Pizza Como is basically a Chuck-E-Cheese food experience without the animatronics. This place frustrates me because I have no doubt they know how to make a proper Italian sub and Chef salad, but they don't, because either they never learned and don't know how, or they're just holding back. The Italian sub is so close to being one of the best in Berks. And that's not an exaggeration. Toasted rolls make a big difference, and Pizza Como's rolls are shockingly good. Let's suspend our disbelief for a moment and gloss over the fact that the meat content is supremely lacking. Without focusing on that, we can set our sights on other things, like the roll. And oh my god, the roll is on point. A toasted, never soggy, robust roll with the right amount of chew. It singlehandedly elevates these hoagies to a whole new level. Unfortunately, we eventually have to come back down to earth, where the meat-to-bread-ratio is still king. Regardless of bread quality, if you skimp on the meat, it just shows you are holding out on us. Give us the meats. We deserve the meats. The "large" Italian salad was probably the biggest letdown. For the price, you'd expect more than just a single, thin cold cut of salami cut into tiny sections. Same with the single slice of provolone cheese. It was by far the worst rendition of an Italian salad I've ever had the displeasure of knowing. Really just a mixed bag here. When it comes down to it, though, I was just left wanting, yearning and ultimately unsatisfied. read more

I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. I had a #20 cheese steak but had them change the peppers to the hot peppers in oil. Some people call them long hots. Really delicious! The only thing I'd do next time is add sauce. This is important: the rolls are excellent! Fries are plentiful. Order at the counter and they bring it to you. Tables are clean. Cash/credit cards accepted. Plenty of off-street parking, easy exit at the traffic light. Very friendly people! read more

I just moved to Reading and have been searching for my go-to pizza place. I saw the reviews and figured this would be it since everyone called it "the best pizza in Reading." It very well may be the best pizza in Reading (I haven't made my rounds yet), but if that's so, Reading needs to step it's game up. I got the "grande bargain" which is a large Italian sub, a slice, and a soda for $8.75...which is a pretty good deal. The pizza: It's... okay. Nothing about it stood out. Very average and barely any sauce. After I ordered, a lady in the back came out and asked "is this slice okay"? It was the last slice of a pie and looked like it had sat for a little. It was also cut up in two smaller halves. I said no...but she kept insisting so I finally said yes. Maybe my rating would be higher if I wasn't served a slice of pizza that was about to be thrown away. The sub: Where's the rest of my sandwich?? One slice of salami, once slice of ham, and one slice of cheese. Really?? It looks pathetic. The one good thing I can say is that the bread was great. Other than the lady who pushed that runt of a slice on me, the service from the guy at the register was friendly and quick. Will I return? Delightful place we randomly found on a minor league baseball trip between Lehigh Valley and Lancaster. We had cheesesteaks, pizza, and a meatball sub. The rolls were sublime. Best ever. Fresh, crispy, chewy, and light all at the same time. Yummy meatballs and perfectly peppery steak. Phil, the owner, was behind the register and was the ultimate host. Warm and welcoming and engaging - also turned out to be a bit of a magical visit with baseball cards and stories and even a bona fide superstar. Don't miss this gem. read more

This place is quite a gem! My husband and I were on a business trip and stopped in for a slice. The owners/employees were all very nice and helpful. The pizza has a crispy crust, sweet (but not too sweet) sauce and deliciously melted cheese with (if you like) tiny Pepperoni's...my favorite. The Italian hoagie is on a light, fresh yet crusty Italian roll...toasted, warm and the flavors are exactly what you expect a great Italian hoagie to be... I'm mad I didn't take a picture, but we were hungry and ate all before I thought of it. It's definitely worth a stop and we can't wait until we are in the area again!! read more

I liked this place right from the moment I first stepped inside. It has a rather old school hometown vibe to it. As soon as you enter, the order counter is directly in front. To your left is the dining area with booths all around the outer edge. There is also a bar to the right side as you walk further in. For the out-of-towners, be aware that this establishment is seated off the main highway. It's located across from a Sunoco and Schell's Miniature Golf, about a quarter mile from Target on your left. If you're not paying attention, you'll drive right past it (as I did). But once you pull in, there is ample parking available. I stopped here one night for a few slices and enjoyed the overall experience. When you place an order to eat inside, they will provide you with a cup of which you can fill (and refill) directly from their soda fountain located next to the order counter. The pizza itself is very good with just the right amount of cheese and sauce ratio. It has a crispy crust with no signs of sogginess. If you like to fold your slices without the contents falling out, then this is the place for you. Overall, I found this to be a great pizza joint and I look forward to returning. read more
