"Farmer John I'm in love with your daughter Yeah the one, with the champagne eyes" (Neil Young) Boscov's Fairgrounds Farmers Market was terrific. We walked through the big building, checked out their 65 vendors and saw a ton of candy & snacks, deli food, restaurants and food stalls, flowers & plants, meats, milk & ice cream, pastries & bread, poultry & eggs, fruits & vegetables, seafood, coffees and teas, wine, and more. We stopped at Leininger's Quality Meats to scoop up some beef sticks and beef jerky. Now that beef jerky was some serious beef jerky. Huge slabs with a sticky glaze that smelled like they just came out of a smoker. They were delicious, they were freaking fabulous! I also enjoyed shooting the breeze with the very cool proprietor of "Unique & Antique Collectibles & Unusual Stuff". We chatted about the rock and roll memorabilia market, the value of vinyl LP's, and old issues of Rolling Stone magazine. The guy was a hoot- definitely the kind of guy I'd love to have a beer with and talk about collectibles. Boscov's Fairgrounds Farmers Market was an excellent place to visit.

Nice, fun market with a huge variety of products and food! We especially enjoyed the various dessert, produce, and dairy stalls. Enjoyed the meats section and fresh spices!

This is a mecca of treats! There is something here for EVERYONE. Fresh meats, cheeses, fruit, veggies, baked goods, candy, and even places to snag a bite to eat while shopping. If I lived here I would be doing some serious grocery shopping here. Prices seem comparable if not BETTER than most major grocery store chains. Meat definitely falls in the better prices category. The nice thing is that your food is FRESH and you have the ability to ask the workers "where does this product come from? How do you make it/raise it/grow it?" It's nice to know WHERE your food comes from. Many of the vendors are Amish and make a great product. They all seem to be very friendly and happy to answer questions. I was honestly taken aback by another post saying this was expensive. Just like when you go to different grocery stores for different sales, you have many vendors here with different prices. We were in search for a specific ring balogny. Our strategy? Walk around once looking at all the vendors for the cheapest price of the SAME product. Score! Found the Hippies Ring Balogny from a vendor for $3.99/pound , some were selling the same product for $5/pound. Walk around, eat samples, ask questions, and find the best price. You won't leave dissapointed and you are truly helping LOCAL farms and businesses.

Country BBQ corner had a variety of meats. I chose the ribs which were fall off the bone melt in your mouth satisfaction! I got the mushrooms and baked mac and cheese as sides. Mushrooms were good and mac and cheese was fair. Their fruit punch was not good. It came out of a fountain. They had other dinners i would love to come back and try! I also tasted a cinnamon doughnut from center stand bakery that was located just steps from Country Corner. It had white icing on the top and was cinnamon doughnut. Wow! Never had one of those or heard of them either. It was soft and moist, the bomb. I visited the tea and coffee shop and purchased some loose tea and coffee. Wide wide selection of teas. You should really check it out. Overall experience was great. I only wish it was closer to me.

    Fantastic!

Great selections of meat, produce and poultry. Great prices. I will never buy these items at a grocery store.

They also have some unique store brand products that you will not be able to find anywhere else. The inventory is consistent for the most part - so if you like a product, oftentimes you'll be able to get more of it in the future and They have an interesting system in place for their shopping carts that effectively prevents people from being lazy and leaving carts everywhere around the parking lot. A quarter gets paid to release a cart. Then you get the quarterback when you return the cart. There's ample parking and handicap spots right near the door. The checkout lines move fast even when people have a ton of items in their cart Also, they don't do free bags ( paper bags or plastic bags). Sometimes they will have empty boxes from stocking the shelves available that people can use. They also have reusable bags for sale. Most people bring their own.

This is the second Aldi grocery store that I've visited (the other one being on Millcreek Rd. in…read moreAllentown). The layout of this store is slightly different and seems to be a little larger than the Allentown store. Four things you need to know: 1) You need to bring your own shopping bags or buy their paper or plastic bags at checkout. If you forget, it's not the end of the world: a full size paper bag is only $.06. 2) You need to put a quarter in the handle of the shopping cart to release it from the other carts (you get the quarter back when you drop off the cart). 3) The large chocolate bars are awesome - they're from Austria. 4) They have a lot of gluten-free, organic, etc. healthier foods at nice prices. From what little I've learned of Aldi, they're based in Germany and follow a European style shopping experience (explaining the shopping cart situation and supplying your own bags). They tend to have one brand choice for all of their products, mostly their own house brand vs. the typical national names. Also, the products tend to come in just one size (like sour cream, cans of beans, etc.) I thought the prices were really good on the things I checked out. The store itself is small; larger than a CVS but way smaller than a full-fledge grocery store. They do have fresh produce, milk, eggs, bread, etc. in addition to canned goods, meats and frozen items. It would be a good place to go if you were planning a party -- they have a lot of selection of heat & eat hors d'oeuvres, cheeses and crackers. They *do not* accept manufacturer's coupons. You *can* get additional cash back from debit purchases like you can at other places (other grocery stores, Target, Walmart, etc.)
