Every year for many many years, my family has been making lobster tail for New Year's Eve. The number of attendees has dwindled over the years, but we still get a large amount of lobster tails every year for the party. This year I needed 25. I ordered 25 South African lobster tails for a grand total of $650. They gave me one lemon. ONE. When I asked if I could have more, they put two more in the bag for a grand total of three lemons. I was told that the policy is one complementary lemon per purchase. So if I had paid for each lobster tail separately, I suppose I would've had one lemon Patel. But since I paid in bulk, I got three lemons. If I wanted anymore, they would've charged me $.66 per lemon. This is not an isolated incident. Every year we get one or two lemons I think I will buy my lobster tails elsewhere from now on. read more

Worst customer experience ever. We wanted some king crab for a special occasion, so we made the 30+ minutes drive. When we arrived 1 customer was being checked out and 3 employees behind the counter did everything they could to avoid waiting on us. After about 8 minutes of waiting we ordered the colossal king crab instead about 10 dollars more, we got 3 colossal legs but then the sleezy snake snuck 2 regular claws in with the order and still charged us 70 dollars per pound. I wouldn't have been surprised if she thumbed the scale as well. Worst experience yet. Will not be returning. read more

I've been wanting to try their sushi trays and today was the day I made that happen. Sushi is available only on Fridays and Saturdays. Today I purchased a shrimp roll, tuna roll and frozen calamari. I have never seen tuna in such a dark, rich color. It was the absolute best, freshest sushi I've had in my 30 years of eating sushi all over the US. Grab a tuna roll or 2. You will not be disappointed! I also liked that the shrimp roll had fresh asparagus instead of cucumber. Be sure to fix your own container of their honey wasabi sauce. Another batch of spoiled "fresh fish". $40 for 2 pounds of Striper, which I love, by the way. I got it home, opened the wrapping and it smelled terrible and was sticky to the touch. I've been around fish all my life, that's bad fish, it went in the garbage. Now on to the clams I bought with it, 8 out of 24 dead and starting to decay. Went to Adelphia on Saturday. I bought 100 middle neck clams. Took them home and soaked them and then scrubbed them before cooking. They were SO sandy that we probably threw at least half of them away! $50 for 100 clams and they sucked! Never again! read more

They get 1 star only because you can't give zero. I have never been more sick in my life than after eating what were apparently bad scallops. I ate those because the crab I purchased smelled like ammonia and I thought that might be a bad thing. read more

We just recently discovered Adelphia after 2 years of living in Reading and we are glad we did!! First, the service is great. Truly friendly and helpful staff. Second, the seafood is excellent with a very eclectic mix of choices. We had an oyster fry recently and we ordered 80 extra selects. These were easily the best oysters We've ever purchased. Third, Gulf Shrimp! They have large shrimp that are actually large. Unlike some places that should be cited for false advertising who put the label Jumbo on shrimp that is laughable. If you've never had gulf shrimp come here and buy a pound. Be warned, it will ruin every other kind of shrimp for you. You won't order them in restaurants and you'll stop buying all other kinds. I took my 82 year old Mother to your store today, mind you it was the first time out since our "lock down" by Gov. Wolf. We didn't realize they had a 5 person limit and we forgot to put our masks on. We were literally yelled at and pointed to for coming in , by mistake without our masks. First of all, my Mother got scared, second of all we didn't need to be treated like that. She wanted to leave, but I promised to make her her favorite dinner of Scallops and shrimp so we reluctantly stayed. They were rude and And demeaning . Not. Good. Stopped there on our way home from Sinking Spring. First off it smells awful. I know it's a fish market, I have been to others, even larger ones, and they don't smell this raunchy. Picked up seafood salad that was so so. Got two soups that were inedible - lobster bisque and scallop and bacon chowder. If you buy your shrimp at the super market then you probably have no idea what shrimp should taste like. Get Adelphia's "wild caught" shrimp. You'll never by anything else. Speaking of wild, this place has the best selection of "wild caught" fish. A good way to avoid all those antibiotic and other issues associated with farm raised fish. I've been going there for over 10 years and it's always clean and never a "fishy" smell. Best selection in the area. If they don't have it just ask and they can probably get it. I'll give them a 5 star rating when they get more wild caught fish. read more

Great seafood and awesome, fast service! They have the freshest seafood out there and their frozen selections, soups, and seafood salads are always on point as well! The staff is very friendly, helpful and they know their stuff as well! Tuna burgers are super good and so is the swordfish! I will never buy grocery store; "cocktail shrimp," again since Adelphia turned me on to the "wild caught shrimp." What a difference in taste! Phenomenal!
