My husband and I assessed Austin's differently. He ordered prime rib which he said was nothing short of perfect. Cooked medium rare as requested, tender, juicy -- he savored every bite. I scanned the menu. Nothing jumped out at me. (I generally don't gravitate to steakhouse-type restaurants.) I ordered a half rack of baby back ribs. My point of comparison is Longhorn's which offers more of a bang-for-a-buck, and in my opinion better tasting ribs. Not to say that Austin's aren't good. They are. Based on the popularity of Austin's, it's clear management knows what they're doing. But I think a small salad and baked potato should be available with the price of the entree -- not worth the extra $7 I was going to be charged. The salad is listed as 'field greens,' -- which it's not -- but reading the menu you'll see they mean iceberg and romaine. The salad was good, enhanced by their garlic ranch dressing. We washed down our meals with well-priced drinks: merlot ($8.90) and Blue Moon ($6.90), then splurged on dessert. Austin's flourless double chocolate brownie a la mode is very rich. One order for two adults is plenty. Austin's is aptly described as a family restaurant. A lot of kids. A lot of noise. Service is friendly and on-the-ball. While not my kind of restaurant, if prime rib is your thing -- this could be the place!

I'll never forget watching the continuation of game 5 of the 2008 World Series here when this was…read moreknown as Santino's. I mean I guess it wasn't that long ago, but it feels like a lifetime has passed in between. The bar that night was full of familiar faces. Groups of friends from both Wilson and Wyomissing neighborhoods had been unified with a common aspiration. After nearly two full days of agonizing rain delays, we were all about to witness the Phils bring the city of Philadelphia its first championship in 25 years (since 1983, before so many of us there that night were even born). This isn't Santino's of course, but it's impossible to separate those memories, which is probably the case for many of the folks still coming here who can remember fondly the mingling with family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. I'm glad this remained a restaurant and didn't turn into another spa or something. It's a bit harder to go to a spa and think hey I used to drink Jaegerbombs right over there by the koi pond and speaker playing soothing rainforest sounds. You can tell just by the sequence of naming conventions (from "Santino's" to "Tino's" to finally "State Hill Craft Cocktails & Kitchen") the kind of vibe they're going for here. The "Tino's" era, though brief, proved that you could keep the neighborhood charm and just slightly ratchet up the presentation, especially in the food and bar departments. Over time the menu has shifted from fine-casual Italian to more upscale comfort food, with wagyu meatloaf, lobster mac & cheese, and the always elegant, always dashing meatloaf patty melt. State Hill Craft Cocktails & Kitchen or whatever iteration of dining establishment will be there 15, 20 years from now (Luxe Carwash expansion perhaps) will bring together members of the community that wouldn't ever otherwise cross paths. New friendships will form, and old ones will strengthen. The atmosphere was electric that night in Santino's nearly 20 years ago. Everyone was elated, even people who didn't watch sports were happy because they could see other people were happy. For one night we could push everything else aside, the weight of responsibility and care lifted from our backs. A reminder that joy could be had, and our existences, though flawed, remained full of promise with even better days ahead. This is probably the least helpful review you've ever read LOL

The calamari was fine shavings of calamari coated with fried breading and a strange heavily Parmesan cheese sauce. The gnocchi was eh.... The whipped feta did not add anything great to it. Someone at our table asked for bread and they told us after looking at him in a very confused way... responded with, " sure we can get you bread, focaccia bread, but it may take 20 minutes." The main thing is the water took 10 minutes to get to the table and our drinks took a half an hour after the water came. One appetizer came out 20 minutes after that and then another 25 minutes after that the dinners came out. All in all... We didn't get any food for over an hour and 15 minutes. The wait staff and manager had no idea how slow everything was and we were the only table that ordered. Everyone other table was eating already. The ambience is OK... It's not great and it was so cold. It was uncomfortable. We sat in the back garden room. The entire restaurant was too cold.

My review is based solely on my interaction with a manager at Queen cafe…read more (Know that the pic showing "sold out" is after the time to pick up our order and only to show there's no instructions on their site about them being pre order only) TL;DR: We placed a large office online order last night for today pickup. On arrival, we were told the order was only available for Super Bowl Sunday (two weeks away), despite the system allowing us to select Friday pickup with no instructions. The issue was handled defensively, with quick blame, little care and no accountability. Basically ended with a "tough luck better next time" tone. Proceed as you wish. For those who want details:A colleague had been bringing wings from Queen Café to our office on Fridays for a few weeks, and they quickly became an office favorite. It reached a point where team members were coming into the office specifically to enjoy them, even on days they would normally work from home. On January 22nd, we placed a large online order (150 wings) through their Toast system for Friday, January 23rd pickup. Just before arriving to collect the order at the scheduled time, my coworker received a call asking to confirm whether the order was for the Super Bowl on February 8th. At that point, we were already en route and the receipt clearly showed the order was placed for January 23rd. We were told that the wing style selected was only available for Super Bowl Sunday and that only 40 wings were left for purchase that day. This was confusing, because the system allowed us to select that option for Friday pickup with no direction or restriction. Along with this they are normally closed on Sundays as shown in the pictures. When we arrived, we waited patiently to speak with a manager--not expecting extra wings to magically appear, but hoping to understand what went wrong and how to avoid this in the future. Sadly, the interaction was immediately defensive with a very direct blaming tone. We were told the order had "just appeared" at that time in their system and that the wrong option had been selected, with no room for discussion. There wasn't even an attempt to review the receipt that showed when the order was placed and pick up time. I kindly asked why the option was available for Friday pickup if it was only intended for Super Bowl Sunday. The only response was for us to either receive a full refund or purchasing the remaining 40 wings at full price. We chose to take the 40 wings. I asked whether there was anything that could be done to acknowledge the inconvenience, as this appeared to be a system or process issue rather than user error. The response we got was very rude, dismissive and reactive, rather than understanding or solution-oriented. Before leaving, I asked how we should place large Friday orders in the future to prevent this from happening again. We were told to order the same way as before and that the day didn't matter--despite being told moments earlier that the system didn't register the order until noon next day for our pickup time. This left us with little faith that the issue wouldn't repeat itself or if there was concern about if it did. Overall, the interaction felt more accusatory and defensive than customer caring. I understand mistakes happen, but it's how they are handled matters. We were hoping to continue making these large Friday orders a regular tradition with Queen Cafe, but based on this experience, we'll be looking at other options. Advice to customers: If there's an issue with your order, be prepared for challenging cooperation & little consideration from management. Advice to management: Review how ordering options are presented to your customers, take accountability when it's on you/your systems, don't blame your customers, and approach them with some level of empathy to listen for a solution.

The service is on point, the steaks on point and the side dishes, never disappoint! Please add those glazed carrots to the regular menu because I never knew I liked glazed carrots until I had them there and I blame you for my addiction! The bread and butter are delicious and I feel like you can always tell the quality of a good restaurant by the bread and butter that they put out they take the extra minute to warm up the butter and that really says a lot about customer service to me As I mentioned earlier, I usually go Valentine's Day weekend and if the holiday actually falls on a weekend, I try to go the day before or the day after just because I feel like any restaurant gives a better experience, not on a holiday! But I did end up here one year on Valentine's Day. It was packed. After we were seated, it took 10 minutes for someone to even greet us and take our drink order. When they finally did, we ordered the meatballs since we've heard so much about them. What a shock, 2 small meatballs with a very over-acidic sour-tasting red sauce and two pieces of bread for $10?! That was crazy. I would have expected 2 large meatballs at the very least. And then to top it off, they were lukewarm. Not hot at all. We asked for new hot ones and when they came out again... even less warm. The server kept bringing us dirty filthy plates. We asked another server for new plates and got an attitude. When we asked to speak to the management we were told he's too busy cooking in kitchen. We left and didn't eat a thing. This is not at all a good look on this establishment. I can easily say this place absolutely did not live up to the hype at all. What a bummer. I would not recommend or return to this restaurant.

Been coming here for many years since it opened, never had any issues. But unfortunately this visit wasn't too good. Ordered drinks , looked over the menu and chose some appetizers - tater skins and some fried pickles since we haven't had those in a while, decided to try something else other then the usual rattlesnake bits which are also a favorite. I ordered the 16oz sirloin with fries and applesauce, my wife went with the country fried chicken with salad and loaded sweet potato. Drinks came out , few minutes later the salad arrived. My wife finished the salad and we were waiting on our appetizers to arrive. 10-15 minutes went by still no appetizers. Waitress never checked on us to see if we needed anything , she mainly wandered around the bar area , didn't look like she had any other tables since it wasn't busy. Maybe another 10 or so minutes passed and out come our entrees. They were delivered to us by a completely different waiter. I told him about the situation that the appetizers were never delivered. The waiter went and quickly found the manager and sent him to find our waitress. He did apologize for the issue and offered us a $10 free entree on our next visit. He then asked if we needed anything , so my wife asked for another drink. $10 is enough to cover just an appetizer , but the tip for the waitress went out the window on that visit. The appetizers were taken off the bill. Not sure if our waitress was "new" but I was surprised that we had this issue when she wrote our order down. Better luck next time. Wait, how did I never review this? During its prime (which I'm not even sure when that would have…read morebeen now that I think about it), Smokey Bones in Wyomissing, while perhaps never THE destination, certainly was A destination. That destination was perfect for families wanting perfectly acceptable casual suburban chain-quality BBQ. It was mass produced, sauces and soups came in plastic sacks, the cattle used here weren't the GMO-free type that your granny used to eat. These are the animals juiced to the max, barely able to support their own weight, but man, what succulent ribs they have. We didn't know it at the time, but COVID was perhaps the golden age of take out ordering. Restaurants were practically giving food away, trying to get some return on the food rotting away in their pantries. Smokey Bones had some insane wing deals, like BOGO deals that fed me for a week, easy. One order I found confirmed in an old email from 2020 shows 32 bone-in wings and 32 boneless wings for $40. I mean hot damn. I like the rest of America at the time was living like a fat, gluttonous slob. Remember ordering bottles of liquor to your house back then? And you would just be signing for it in like a bathrobe. Good times. Darn shame to see this one go, not because I went regularly or because the food was particularly good, or because the service was exceptional or anything, and certainly not for the decor or music selection, wait, what was the question again? Ah right, it's a shame to see it go because it was a microcosm, it was home to people who worked there 5, 10+ years or more. There was lore. There were l, pranks, jokes, cruelty, but lifelong friendships, and even love no doubt. Also conniving backstabbing. And countless numbers of mundane, unremarkable shifts. All added up, though, it's one I'm sure all the employees can look back on and say, "That was an experience." RIP Smokey Bones and to the hopes and dreams of the entire staff that were crushed on April 28, 2026 when the doors were closed and remain closed to this day. Personally I'm hoping for a P. F. Chang's to move in, but I may be slightly biased.
