Chopped Beef baked potatoes & side of beans
Brooklynne M.

I love this place. The brother & sister that run it are super friendly and the food is always amazing and fresh. I'm in here at least once a week. I always got the chopped beef sandwich and they kept telling me to try their baked potato with chopped beef... man! That's some good stuff right there haha. Super friendly people, good food, check them out!

Some of the best bbq ribs and brisket I've had. Reasonably priced. Staff was super friendly, too. Will be going back for sure!

Worst BBQ sandwich in town. Will not go back. I think the good ratings are by employees.

The links taste like they had been boiled. The brisket was hard with ALOT OF fat on it. Please pass by this place and go some where better.

Walking in just read how to order, you tell them the sides you want, then move on the the meat, the team is very friendly, there are bottled drinks, but get the soft drinks as you can go back for refills. The side w very versatile, we tried the rice that had good flavor, along with the beans, but the star for us was the creamed corn, this was amazing, the Mac and cheese good creamy. The pork ribs were peppery and good smoke taste, the jalapeño sausage was great, that brisket was special burnt ends and the fatty part of the brisket was delicious. Amazing ambience, and you can get your own To go boxes. All around amazing experience.

My partner loved the sausage, eyes were bulging out my face when they pulled the meats out straight out the Qr & started slicing in front of ya. I love rich food, idk what it was this time. It's probably my mistake ordering burnt ends, brisket & rice. So excuse me but my stomach turnt side ways. Like a tbt to a southern chopped & screwed track from Chamillionaire. No ridin dirty but the stomached ached till that night. Fyi i did use the complimentary bread to cut the richness as well to know avail.

My friend had been raving about the garlic lamb chops so I finally decided to order them. I had the lamb chops with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The lamb chops were pretty good. I chose to have mine cooked medium. They were a nice size and it came with five lamb chops. It came with a quite little loaf of bread too that was soft like a pillow! I would highly suggest trying them as I believe they are seasonal.

This restaurant was willing to accommodate the group of 10 of us in the bar with no weight and the service and food was outstanding. We tried just about every steak option on the menu and all were greatly enjoyed. The appetizers were also delicious. The cocktails were quick to come and well-made. This is a good option if you don't wanna wait for the long line at Texas roadhouse or similar venues.

We opted for a pair of 3 meat platters at $16 per plate--lean brisket, ribs and rib tips, links, and the mandatory sides of baked beans and potato salad. The sides were sides, but Meshack's is definitely about the meat. The links had good snap and the ribs were well prepared, separating cleanly at the bite. Both had a flavor profile pleasantly tilted to the peppery side (just the way we like it). The brisket had nice bark and pink ring, but the central Texas rub didn't really kick in until we had them for dinner some 8 hours later. We were happy with the food here, and look forward to another visit. It was fun talking 'cue with Donna, who took good care of us during our visit-- our 99th BBQ stop in Texas, and the 399th nationwide.

It was a full-on spread. Before I even walked in, the place smelled amazing. Inside was clean and dialed. When you're ordering this much food, you half expect some chaos -- but nope. Everything was packed up, organized, and ready to go. Efficient, friendly, no stress. The brisket was fantastic -- tender, flavorful, gone fast. The mac & cheese was a heavy hitter. Definitely one of the first sides to disappear. Hot links had great flavor and the right kick. And the cream corn? That one surprised me. It had a little heat to it that I wasn't expecting, but it worked. Different in a good way. Feeding seven adults isn't small math, and Soulman's made it easy. I'm glad we took the family recommendation because this one's staying in the rotation. Solid BBQ. Zero drama. Exactly what you want.

Ordered Turkey, Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage and Mac and Cheese on the 2 meat combo plate. First off, that was $27 which I thought was rather high but with the hype I thought it might be worth it. The turkey was tender and juicy and rather flavorful, except for the end piece of turkey breast (I assume) with the skin side which was extremely tough. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was okay, but it didn't really retain either the jalapeño, cheddar, or the smoky taste which I thought was disappointing. The Mac and Cheese had bacon bits on it which were nice and crispy but the Mac and Cheese wasn't very rich or complex flavor wise, which I found slightly underwhelming. The sauce was super runny and while it had flavor, I never think having to put sauce on stuff to give it flavor is the answer. All that being said, for $27 I wasn't going to leave anything on the plate. The service I thought was rather hands off and I'm surprised nobody came and checked on us although that may be just how things are. The ambiance was cool with old license plates and pictures along with some cool western themed things up on the walls to make it seem warm and homey. All in all, I was left with the feeling that there should've been more and I was kinda disappointed after all the hype I've seen and all the gravitas that the name Pecan Lodge carries with it. I'd say probably a 6.5-7/10 so that lands me at 3 stars because it really didn't feel 4 star worthy.
