Absolutely the best bbq in Forney. I miss this place and wish we had more options in restaurants.

A real "good 'ol boy" Texas hole in the wall BBQ place. We were pre-scouting locations to see the 2024 Eclipse and found this place well rated. I am not sure if they take cash b/c the ordering systems (surprisingly) was via kiosk. (looked like the couple in back was doing food and made this choice to save on a cashier- not sure if they even would take cash - but it sure seems like the type of place that would) It was a Thursday around 11:10 - and they already had a few customers in back. The vibe was EXACTLY what you want - they were even playing this local country station and I had never ever heard any of the songs, really old school and I loved it. Hubbs "smitty" brisket sandwich was the clear winner - though the raw jalapeños were a bit much for me- the roll was perfection, a little sweet and extra soft and chewy, also larger than most sandwiches. My pork rib plate was pretty good, the beans and mac and cheese were nothing special. I will say the ribs were greatly enhanced by their BBQ sauce on the side. Bill was $32. I had read about some desserts here - but the only offing that say was slices of pecan pie - they looked very good and jam-packed with pecans - but we resisted. read more

Small town BBQ restaurant that we tried for lunch. The staff was very friendly and they recommended the brisket, since we were clearly from out of town. I went with the Brisket Sandwich (chopped up) with a side of coleslaw and green beans. I thought the sandwich was delicious. The meat had great flavor and I enjoyed their BBQ sauce. The bun sealed the whole meal together, it was fantastic. The sides weren't horrible but they weren't something I'd go out of my way to order again. The coleslaw was very interesting and was different than anything I've had before. I believe they called it a southwest coleslaw and it included cheese. BEST BRISKET IN TEXAS! I think this review has been put off for FAR too long. I've been a regular at 4Ts for about 2 years now. I love every single aspect of their bar-bq; hickory smoked to perfection. When I got married in 2015 I used a different bar bq spot, because I hadn't found this GOLDEN GEM yet. I wish I could go back in time and have these wonder people cater my wedding. Their meats are to die for, and if you're hungry for some Q, you better make it down there by 11 so you can have your choice of meat! They do sell out, so make sure you're there bright and early! Now to the real MEAT of this review. I've gotten their smoked turkey more times than I can count. It's absolutely tender and juicy, never a dry bite. BEST BRISKET IN TEXAS!!! And I mean that quite literally. I have never once, in my 15 years of culinary encounters, I am 30, I have never tasted anything so beautiful as 4Ts brisket. I would suggest getting a brisket sandwich if it's your first time. Or if you want something a little different than Q. They have a great burger! Juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. The Ribs are quite literally the 'baddest hombres' this side of the Mississippi. No one can beat their flavors. BUT YOU CANT FORGET THE PORK SAUCE! It's a vinegar based, peppery sauce for all things PORK. The pulled pork is heaven with juice and tenderness. But, again do not forget the pork sauce. Before covid, and the meat shortage. Every Saturday he would offer the absolutely, most delicious, pork belly burnt ends you'll ever try. They offer different specials, on different days. They will always have something you'll want to enjoy I promise! And if you need to have something sweet to finish your meal? Well their banana pudding is a great treat. But by far, Miss Cyndis chocolate pecan pie will leave you wanting the whole pie! I have been to countless numbers of bar-bq joints in Texas. We were traveling back from Dallas when I got a hankering for some BBQ! Discovered 4T's on YELP, so we thought why not! Needless to say we were not disappointed! The nicest lady took our order with helpful suggestions on what sides to get and what was already sold out. Our food was hot and delicious! I got the chopped beef sandwich with potato salad. The brisket was on point with a good combination of fatty and lean. Potato salad definitely had to be made homemade because of the consistency of it. Just the right amount of every ingredient. My husband got jalapeño sausage and pulled pork. He's not an "out of his way" seeker of BBQ. So when I say he walked away with a full belly it had to be something special. POC this owner is a known racist! His food is gross. Gave my whole family food poisoning on Mother's Day weekend. I have called many times to discuss this with him and he will not respond. Called me a racial slur and hung up on me. The macaroni & chz is strait up velveeta with bacon bits on top. The brisket was fatty and the sausage looked like it had been smoked at the Alamo. A quick look at "da ribs" picture by yelper Cody J. nails the amount of juicy smoke and flavor sitting on these fabulous ribs from 4T's BBQ ! You can almost imagine what they will taste like from a photo.... Thankfully, I was able to taste these delicious meat morsels in real life! Twice (actually would have been 3, as we wanted to get some more to take on the plane home but our flight was earlier than they opened)...in less than 24 hours. While on a recent visit to the area the handy yelp app directed the nose of my rental car into the gravel driveway of 4T BBQ for some serious good BBQ...according to the poster on the wall, the restaurant had recently been voted top 50 in Texas (so true!). Our party of 9 ate heartily for under $75, we all left fully satisfied and came back the next day for more! We did not get drinks, the meats, sides and bread were plenty filling! Fried okra was good. The star here? Ribs. oh. yeah. The ribs are on point! We also received a quick tour of the smoker by the friendly kitchen staff out back and had a chance to see the owner preparing his meat for the weekend...a huge cartload! This place is way better than the billboard buying joint around the corner (which only has *** on yelp btw) so, get off the highway and keep heading into downtown Forney for this gem of a BBQ eatery! The storefront is pretty basic and little easy to miss. Be sure to check the hours and yep...they do sell out of BBQ, try to time your visit accordingly. I came across this BBQ spot on Yelp. My mother wanted ribs and brisket for her birthday dinner, so I called and placed an order for ribs, brisket and sausage. Sold out quick which is no surprise after the top 50 list came out. The owner was really nice and was there telling everyone he was sold out. The staff was nice, building simple and the BBQ good all around. Even though he was sold out of brisket, he brought us a sample at the end! It's been a couple of years since I've been here as I wasn't overwhelmed after the first visit. The decor is clean and has your typical BBQ joint feel to it. You have the option of ordering plates, sandwiches or ordering meat by the pound. I ordered 1/2 lb of sliced brisket and 2/3 lb of moist brisket. They have a condiment bar with the usual (e.g. pickles, onions, jalapenos, etc.). The brisket looked great, it had a nice bark around the entire slice and it was cut to the right thickness. While the moist was good (easier to cook correctly), the lean was solidly above average. Both slices had nice caramelization throughout the small fat cap that was left on the brisket. Very impressive brisket. The only thing I would like to see would be a little more pepper in the bark. Sauce was good as well. I will definitely be back and it won't take 2 years to visit the next time. read more

Easy to miss this place, but once you've had their BBQ, you'll never lose sight of it! I've only had their sliced brisket sandwiches, but they are spot on! Good smoke flavor and seasoning, plenty of tender meat, and a soft, but sturdy roll. My friend prefers her brisket chopped, but quality was the same. Trust me you don't have enough stars to rate this BQ place. The ribs are beyond great; when you can get them. They sell out before they open in Saturdays. The young lady at the front told me, " call before 11:00 AM of you want ribs". Well you know me, last minute not thinking. I walk in around 12:15 and asked for a 2 meat plate which was ribs and wet sliced beef. Yelp!!! You guessed it, no ribs. I ended up with sausage and wet sliced beef. I also got a half smoked chicken. (relax, no that was not for 1 meal, I purchased some for later) The food was delicious and I do mean good. The meat is always tender and the BBQ beans..... Oh my Gawd!!!! Try to visit Forney, stop by 4 T's and see for yourself how good it is. If you don't like it.... Then it sucks to be you! Oh and they close at 3. All I can say is this is some pretty serious Q. I had the pulled pork,and ribs, and both were outstanding. My plate included potato salad and barbeque beans, and as sides go, they were just as good as the meats. I only wish I lived much closer to Forney, but the drive from Carrollton was definitely worth it without question to a barbeque aficionado as myself. I will be back! read more

Giving 3 stars for flavor and price. The flavor of the meat was ok if you like the mesquite flavor. The smoked sausage and the jalapeno sausage was pretty good. Green beans good, Mac and cheese ok. Pulled pork seemed burnt and over powering with mesquite. The price for (2) three meat plates in my opinion was too much especially for the taste of the food. Sorry 4 T's BBQ I'll stick with sticky ribs on helms and hwy 20. I have to say though if y'all dont mind the price or mesquite flavor then you will like this place. The people inside were very nice.
