Apparently the bartender who answered the phone knew enough to tell me they weren't taking phone orders, but somehow forgot to mention the minor detail that they were closing early and had no food left. Seasoning the buns is something many BBQ places don't do. The meat was fresh and cooked well, the only setback was that this meal took about 20 minutes to cook. I love those chunky slabs of brisket. There is just something about a thicker cut that knocks skinnier cuts out of the park. The pork ribs were juicy and tender. I rarely get pork belly burnt ends over a sausage, but they are always a treat like they were here. Just a little taste of heaven. The beans were savory, hearty, and well seasoned. I was pretty impressed by them as well. The team working was super conversational and friendly. The guy in front of me was having his first taste of Texas barbecue, and they were being super helpful making sure he got a true, flavorful experience. This spot feels hidden but is worth the trip.
