Got the Cobb salad and it was fantastic. I actually couldn't finish it all. Chicken was so fresh and so was all the other ingredients. I literally looked like the picture on the menu. 10/10 would come again. Great value for the price. My mom got a bowl and was only able to finish half of it and it was also super tasty. read more

The staff was nice and friendly. The restaurant had a mix of solo diners and families. The atmosphere was lovely. The peach cobbler was fresh warm and had an even yet generous portion of fruit, filling, and crust. I'd definitely have it again. read more

I ordered a three piece dark meal via Door dash. The chicken was hard and cold! It was disgusting and I'm sure that whoever prepared my order was well aware that the chicken was old and inedible! I worked 12 hours yesterday and had this delivered at 8:45p.m, bringing a horrible close to my day. read more

We have had Cowboy Chicken before, but not really was our go too. We decided to give it another try, it was SO good! Hubby just gets the rotisserie chicken, I wanted different so tried the Durango Bowl. It was awesome! Chicken was soft and juicy, with tons of flavor. So much better than Chipo***!!! You won't be disappointed trying this chicken Tex-mex rice & bean bowl. Yummy! read more

I love this place! Idk why the reviews are so low. Every time we have ever been in there the food is HOT, the staff are nice, it's a clean environment and it's DELICIOUS! Every time my father in law is in town we HAVE to go to Cowboy Chicken! He loves it! And when we want a yummy fresh hot predictable meal, it's one of the few places in Forney we can go and be completely happy. read more

Omg i ordered turkey and stuffing. This is the best and i would do it again. Iloved it and it was awesome.

Really good staff is friendly , courteous, helpful. Food was great. Only negative floor a little greasy /slippery. Would highly recommend

The absolute worst peach cobbler I've ever had. It was burnt. I saw literally 3 pieces of peaches in this mess. It had a very strange taste. I guess so considered it had a bunch of black burnt chunks in it. I truly want a refund for that awful so called cobbler. That's a lot of money for something I just threw out. Yuk! So very disappointed. read more

5/17/2024- Today I wanted to try the chicken tenders and was completely dissatisfied basically 70% of the order was batter I think I will stick with Cane's CC please try another recipe with your chicken tenders not what was I expecting had no flavor, stick to your smoked or baked chicken and the street corn, leave the tenders to Cane's. read more

Cowboy Chicken - 4 Checkin tenders with a lot of batter never will get this plate again - American Near Me - Forney, Texas

I think one and a half stars would be fair This food is so obviously left out ready to be packed up and served rather than any attempt at making things fresh(food should be prepared then thrown out if past its shelf life under a heat lamp), im guessing that's the business model. tempura as a batter for chicken tenders in my opinion is just not a good idea from a culinary standpoint and just isn't it in manner. I've never had sour broccoli before until here. The best thing was the rolls and sauce. I've eaten here 3 times(I wanted to give it a chance) and it's just expensive dry food with flavor I wouldn't recommend. read more

I bought food here before but through DoorDash . The food always been good. Today is my first time coming into the restaurant. Customer service was ok not really friendly. The establishment was very dirty all the tables had food stains. I let the young lady that attended us that the tables where very dirty. If she had anything for I can clean the table and seats . The food was not what I expected since I ate food from this location before. Overall I give 1-10 . This location haves allot work to be done. I hope in the future they fix the problem. But for now I will not buy anything from this establishment. To management please take time to check the restaurant daily to make sure your business customer ready at all time. Employees need a refresher training. I wish you the best in making this restaurant a better experience. P.s the restrooms were ver dirty as well. read more

Hello, Hi, and Hey! So I give a 5 star today to one food place and it saddens me that I have to give a 2 for this one. It should be a 1 but they gave me another chicken that was edible. First off when you get your food check it and make sure it is fresh. I didn't do that a d I had to make a second trip up there. I went to this place for my family because the "other" fire grilled chicken place had ran out of chicken. The pictures will explain the difference of the chicken and there is no explanation for the burnt broccoli. The second chicken was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the first. Here is a fair warning, if food places want good reviews please serve good food. If I'm going to give you the bad I will definitely point out the good if there is any to report. More importantly please know that I am going to be visiting fast foods, five star restaurants and all in between..... oh by the way the salad was freshly made and the fried okra was hot and fresh! I promise to return and if it's fresh I will give a better rating. read more

I was scared to try here because of the reviews but I'm super happy I did. I had the 2 piece dark with creamed spinach and the twice baked potatoes and my husband had the 2 piece white with green beans and sweet potato and we were allowed to try the street corn and the Mac and cheese and to say everything was delicious and flavorful is an understatement... don't let the past reviews scare you .... We will definitely be back oh and I forgot the staff was phenomenal and super helpful.. so nice I had an amazing experience read more

i got to go so i'm not sure about the service or anything like that but very good food!! i got the half chicken (white), ranchero beans, mac & cheese, & the loaded potatoes. the only thing i wasn't really a fan of was the potatoes. we will definitely be going back! read more

How do you run out of chicken & brisket? Wtf I'm going to do with 8 rolls w/o the brisket and chicken i ordered? Service is booty.

Have gone back a couple of times since my last review. It has been pleasant! Food has been delicious and always fresh and hot! Seasoning on the chicken is soooo good! Service and staff awesome! It is always clean with clean tables to dine in. Definitely my go to for a quick family night dinner after cheer or gym practice! read more

Absolutely horrible. I waited 25 minutes in the drive through and I was the only one in line. I got my chicken tenders and they were all chewy and inedible. I won't be returning but if you chose to eat here, stay away from the chicken tenders. Maybe there's something better on the menu, but I won't know because I won't try it again. Twice baked potatoes were good but that was it. read more

Ate at this location last night. The chicken was good/dry, Mac n cheese was hot and good. The creamed spinach had good flavor but it was cold. Over all it was ok. I have enjoyed the food, but the experience was awful. I wish I got the name of the guy I spoke to. When I tried to get my food that was ordered online through Uber Eats. At the time I had my two small children with me and did not want to take them out of the car when the establishment has a drive thru. My order was small just three of their sides. Did not think it was be big deal to retrieve this order in the drive thru. When I requested my order the guy on the intercom refused to give me my order because it was uber eats order. I mentioned to him that I had two small children that I did not want to pull out since I was by myself and making my hand full to pick up a small order. He then told me unfortunately he would not be able to give me my order in the drive thru and would need to come inside. My food was already paid for and i struggled to come inside trying to carry both my children ( infant and 1 yr old). There should be an options for customers to ho are unable to come inside to get their to go orders in the drive thru. My husband was upset about this situation and we will not be returning to this establishment and I will be informing other customers that may have their hands full with children that may order Togo and is traveling alone. The guy I talked to at the restaurant was there around 2 pm to 3pm on June 17th. He complete did not care and claimed he was following a policy. Ridiculous!!! read more

First time here for lunch. First, I never saw the lunch sign that was behind the counter low on the wall nor was I told about it. I ordered the 5 Crispy Chicken Drimsticks in Lemon Pepper. They came out hot, but dry & were warmed up. The French fries were hot & delicious. The reason I know they were warmed up is because they came out in less than 5 minutes. Will not be back . I tore it apart in the picture to look at the meat. Returned them and they made a "fresh" batched. I could tell they were already cooked & they were refiring them again. Three stars for customer service, hot food, & French fries. read more

I ordered a family meal online for pickup. I liked the ease of ordering online and not feeling rushed to decide. I place my order for pickup at 1:00 and was going to have a friend grab it on her way. I looked at the email confirmation and saw I needed to present my card in person for orders over $25. I arrived 30 minutes early and was greeted promptly by a very nice staff. They were able to get my order together within 5 minutes. Great service. We had whole chicken which was cut into sections for convenience. I loved the flavor. It's a tad on the salty side but very moist and juicy. The okra was perfect. Not too crispy and not mushy. The green beans are really good. I recommend those for keto lovers. The cucumber tomato salad was good. It kinda reminds me of ceviche with all the onion and cilantro. I would pass personally next time but it's good. The sweet potatoes were basically just a giant smoked/roasted sweet potato cut into wedges. I was expecting mashed bUt whatever. All in all I really like Cowboy Chicken for the flavor, customer service and convenience of a ready made meal! read more

It was my first time to visit this establishment on a Friday afternoon waiting on a prescription to be filled . I orders a 1/4 white but noticed I had a 1/4 dark front end or a manager worker not sure but immediately changed it he also was there as soon as I walked in and was ready for my order . The veggies were fresh the only reason I gave 3 stars was that I received the wrong order and by working in food service so long I feel attention to detail is just as important as quality of food . Looks like I will come again folks ;) read more

I have ordered from the Cowboy Chicken in Forney for about two years now. It used to be amazing and it was a regular staple order for us. Today it was horrible. The chicken was super dry and tasted like pure vinegar. The fried okra tasted weird and was mushy, very unlike before when we ordered from here. Not sure what is going on with this location but I won't order from here again. read more

If you want reheated dry chicken and no flavors on your sides, this is the place for you. I ordered 3 piece dark plate with Mac n cheese and twice baked potatoes. No flavor on any sides and chicken was so dry it got caught in our throats. Really disappointing! read more

First time I ate here the chicken sandwich was rock hard, didn't think much of it and left it alone. After almost a year, my wife picked it up for dinner and I got a buffalo chicken sandwich. The Forney location is the worst I've visited. Stopped by there for the first time last week and it was a huge disappointment. The chicken was very dry. It tasted like it had been sitting in an oven for 15 hours. The cream spinach had some kind of thick, brownish green crust around the sides and bottom of it. The rolls were cold and dry. The cucumber tomato salad was just ok. This restaurant is off my places to eat in Forney! read more
