Been waiting catfish all week. Came to our favorite place. Place our ordered. Paid 33.00. Waited 25 minutes for our dinner and was then informed they were out of tartar sauce and cocktail sauce ...... offered us several different kinds of salad dressing !!!! Are you kidding me. Why was this not disclosed before we places our order...... as we would have left and eaten dinner somewhere else. Both Brookshires and Kroger's are nearby. Why didn't someone make a grocery store run. So we are sitting here with a group of unhappy people , because when they get their food is when the disaster is disclosed !!! WOW! It's a small little restaurant that's been there god knows how long. They have great service and really good fried food! First time in today and super happy I went in. My suggestion is to always eat in as fried food doesn't travel well. Had the fried catfish with fries and potato salad. And fried shrimp with fries. Had to try the boudin balls as well. After a 15-year absence from the area, we revisited. The food was just as good as ever but, oh my! They need to pay more attention to cleanliness! The windows were filthy, everything was sticky, even including the salt and pepper shakers. Don't get me started on the bathroom! The place was just dark and dingy, and there were few customers at lunchtime. I'm pretty sure a good cleanup would bring them back. read more

Disappointed! This is the second time in two months I have picked up a ten piece fish dinner. I got a side of dirty rice, it was horrible! Mushy, no flavor, yuk. French fries were barely luke warm and also mushy. Hush puppies were hard and dry, overcooked. Happy to say the fish was good but way too salty. I think this is one of the better fish places in town. It tastes more fresh than the other places. It's sometimes hard to go here because their hours are so sporadic. It looks like an old Sonic use to be here with the drive up spots, but you can't order food from here. Most people just go in and order to-go or over the phone, but you can go in and sit down. They also have a food truck that is usually out at local events and what not. Solid tasting food and fish! read more

Came here at 630 on a Thursday not many people here so we got right in. We ordered fish/ shrimp combo with fries, dirty rice, and greens. The fish was excellent. Batter was not to thick and was the kind that was crummy just how we like it. The sides were all good, our favorite was the dirty rice. The place is a hole in the wall kinda vibe which is not a big deal to us. The seats were not great and the tables all had a sticky film on them. The help was nice and quick to get the food ect. This is a number call place so no wait service. Favorite part was the food. Only negative was the tables not being clean. The cost for 2 dinners and a side it was 55$. Soooo. If you're looking for a down a dirty hole in the wall I would recommend this place. If you looking for a date night to impress this is not a papas style place. read more

This place is near our house and is bigger than it looks. They have a place where you can sit down and a sports bar as an extension. The menu is quite big and they are known for their catfish and shrimp. We ordered the dinner plate, fried green tomatoes and the crawfish pie. Prices were not bad and the cashier that helped us was nice. The food was quite tasty and good. Even though the meal does not look big, it does fill you up as we could not finish the meal between the both of us. Anyways would come here again. read more

We came for the first time on a Friday night around 7. We ordered, and sat down by the window. The food took 45 minutes. It was a test in patience. We made the most of it listening to great music and catching up with the hubs. So if you are in a hurry, I recommend you call in and pick up. When they called our number for us to get the food, we were so surprised how generous the portions were. Catfish, hushpuppies, fries, beans, potato salad, rice were all very delicious and enough for leftovers the next day. All was forgiven with the wait. Will come again! read more

Arrived just before 1pm and soon learned they pull pleasant surprises on you here. Ordered the 2-piece dinner and 3 nice filets arrived in the basket. You get 2 sides so I went with their dirty rice and okra. Both were great but they hid 2 Boudin balls under the filets !! Talk about a pleasant surprise. The best Cajun catfish around in a long, long ways you can't find nothing better. It's always fresh. They cook it to order. You might have to wait a little bit but you know you're gonna get some fresh hot fish. Hush puppies are wonderful. I can't say anything bad about this place? I love this place and I am so happy that they are around. I remember the days when they worked out of their little trailer and there would be a line of people and now I'm happy to see him in a building being able to serve more and do more with their business. As others have mentioned, this restaurant is in an old Sonic Drive-in space - so nothing special. But don't let the lack of atmosphere make you pass it by. The food is out of this world. Stopped in on the way to an event at the OC Theater. Had a four piece fish dinner with red beans and dirty rice. When I got my food, to my surprise, there was an extra piece of fish with my dinner. As good as the fish was, I am definitely not complaining. The beans were hot and seasoned perfectly as was the rice. The only thing I wasn't a big fan of was the hush puppies. The business hours posted are incorrect. This establishment is open Wednesday through Sunday as of April 26, 2021. My first visit here was great. The food was delicious and the service was fast and friendly. It looks like a drive thru, but you have to go in to order. Feel free to wait in your car and listen for your number to be called. There is adequate seating indoors as well if you desire to order and dine in. They do require mask so don't forget to strap up before entering. I got the shrimp dinner and a friend got the catfish dinner. Both meals were superb. There are adequate sides to choose from, so you do not have to settle for fries if you choose not. Doe Belly's is a small town gem. It is not fancy, it is all about the food. It's clear that everyone there is ready and knows what they want. The fried catfish and shrimp are perfection. The jalapeño hush puppies are definitely homemade and perfect. The frilled shrimp are equally tasty. The fried okra, the collard greens and the black eyed peas were scrumptious. The beautifull wife said road trip to get Cajun so who am I to say ahh no! We packed up the two critters and drove 30 minutes to eat Who Dat food. The restaurant is located on a small road and I missed it. You park under a Sonic style parking area. As you enter, you have the menu on the wall and place your order. The building is divided into 2 areas with a bar set up. The bathrooms are located behind the bar. The boys had chicken tenders, wife had sausage and shrimp creole and I had shrimp etouff with fish basket. For the number of customers, the food took time to pick up where we ordered. The catfish was warm along with fries. The soups were taste yet notch stuff (sausage, shrimp) and tenders were ok for a kids meal. For $39 it was ok but not worth the 30 minute drive so if in Rome go eat there. read more
