It's the little touches that make this place one of our favorites.

If you like Ramen, give this place a try. It's the perfect spot for lunch or if you need a quiet dinner with your partner.

Update: The last couple times I've visited the pork and the beef have been extremely dry to the point where I could not eat it and had to remove them from the ramen. The ramen and gyoza are still top notch, but not being able to eat the protein in it is an issue.

Okay... I had to leave my very first yelp review after visiting this place for the last 6 months... This is the best restaurant in all of Forney/Rockwall. My wife and I drive from Heath just for this place. The food is ALWAYS amazing. The presentation is STUNNING between the food and the decor inside. And the service is OUTSTANDING and efficient. Oishii deserves 6 stars. Try it. You won't be disappointed. This is legitimately a high scale sushi/Japanese place at a VERY affordable price.

Stopped here for dinner after the gym after 7pm on a Thursday. The parking lot for moderately full. The establishment is nice on the inside - cutely and authentically decorated. I ordered the spicy ramen to go with a side of kimchi and a Thai tea. My husband got a hibachi plate. I was immediately greeted upon entering and my food was ready upon pickup. I was impressed by the Togo bag. Its reusable!! Once I got home I was equally impressed by the packaging of the food. I was weary of traveling with soup but everything arrived neat and warm despite a 30 min bumpy ride home. My ramen was delicious. Perfect amount of spice with portions big enough for left overs. The kimchi was spicier than I remember at other establishments. I didn't like it that much. My Thai tea was pretty good and refreshing, perfect to wash down the spicy kimchi. I tried some of my husbands hibachi though and was not impressed. I definitely would return for ramen and I also want to try the sushi! There are tons of other things I'm eyeing on the menu as well in the future!

The service was good and it's definitely a family friendly atmosphere. The ramen and sushi were good. I would get those again. The gyoza was supposed to have been fried but they appeared to have been steamed and just sat on a fryer for color. I don't think I would get those again

To be honest, we were headed to our favorite Thai restaurant Thai Pho, but it was closed until 445. It was 351 so we were going to Kohl's and drove by this place and said let's look at the menu saw the reviews were great and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed at all everything was delicious customer service great our waitress name was Yuki. Weven got a little dessert at the end. Ambience is great nice cozy place wasn't many people in there, but we will be back very huge portions. I'm very excited. I hope this place excels now I wish they would make one in Mesquite. my only complaint which is not really a complaint is it's a little on the expensive aside, but isn't everything these days!

The chicken hibachi is raw

This had to be the worst experience I had we drove an hour out of our way to go try this place to get to go order that cost us over 50 bucks. We drove it all the way back home to come out and find that our Ramen had no broth in it the beef inside the Ramen was overcooked. The pork that also came with the Ramen was nothing but fat the chicken hibachi we ordered was pink on the inside and the young lady in the front told us that sushi roll was made one way and it was made a completely different way rooting the whole experience zero stars wouldn't try this place ever

The place looks cool inside and I've had Oishii before in Dallas so I was excited for them to come to Forney! I was able to order quickly and my food didn't take long. I got their vegetarian ramen and an order of spring rolls. The spring rolls were standard, but the ramen was a different story. It lacked quite a bit of flavor and the avocado and mixed greens inside were very weird. Not sure mixed greens should go in ramen. It wilted so fast and was just soggy. The seasoning you see in the pictures were added by me. Also, the cauliflower looked like it had mold on it or maybe it wasn't cleaned properly. It was also raw, so that threw off the textures of the meal. Noodles were cooked unevenly. I would not get it again. As a vegan/vegetarian friendly eater, I would have to review the menu again to see if there's anything I would be able to get.

I'm so happy to have more good food choices in the neighborhood. Oishii is in a great location with easy parking. The dining rooms is cute and very spacious. I went on a Thursday night and all of the booths were filled. A good sign. I had the shrimp tempura roll. It was a really generous sized roll. The tempura shrimp was still warm - it was very very good. i could've done without the dark sauce (eel sauce maybe) but i didn't mind because it complimented the saltiness of the soy sauce and wasabi. I chose the Chicken Katsu Curry bento box. It included the Katsu cutlet on a big bowl of rice along with miso soup, a California roll, pickled cucumber, cabbage slaw and fried veggie spring rolls. The California roll had imitation "crab" which pretty much ruined it for me. I just don't like the sweetness and texture of fake crab. My only other feedback was that they did not have Katsu sauce (I don't like curry). Service was efficient and pretty fast. My server was attentive and polite. Overall - I'd definitely go back to try a few other dishes.

i was watching a married couple having sushi at a local spot on YouTube video . First order for delivery from this establishment. The dish I ordered for delivery is called "Don't Ask Me " It was comprised of around 10 pieces , salmon , avocado, cucumber , eel sauce, spicy mayo inside , rice, seaweed , sesame outside , on the top Farikake , cheese and Tobiko. ‍ Chef's kiss

We decided to give Thai Square a chance, and it didn't disappoint. We did find the sushi rolls a bit expensive, but their buy 2, get 1 for $3 offer kinda balances it out. One day, we came back to try some other items on their menu. The Shrimp Fried Rice and Pad See Eew caught our attention. And boy, were we in for a special treat. Both were amazing! They also included a choice of soup. We tried both soups and were pleasantly surprised. The meals came with steamed rice, which we upgraded to fried rice. Then I noticed two lobster dishes on the menu. One was the Surf and Turf: lobster tail with filet mignon, garlic butter, and brown sauce. The other was the King of the Sea, with lobster tail, salmon, shrimp, and scallops in curry sauce. Both included a choice of soup and steamed rice, and both were fantastic. At $35 each (it's 2026!), I thought they were a pretty good deal, especially considering everything that came with them. I think we've found one of our favorite Thai/Sushi places in the Forney/Dallas area. We'll definitely keep coming back and navigating our way through the menu, hunting for more surprises.

She allowed us time to view the menu without being overbearing. I ordered the Calamari with a couple of mods. They have 3 Fries options and I asked if I could swap out my French Fries for the Sweet Potato Fries. Apparently, this is not something they normally allow, but the manager approved it. I also wanted my Calamari not as crunchy and lightly fried. The calamari came out thick-coated, hard-fried, and tasted of oil. I was told this is the best they could do without it appearing raw. The manager came over to discuss my request and outlined their cooking process. I then asked if it was possible to just use less batter? They obliged and re-prepared the calamari. It came out looking 10x better than before and I could actually taste the flavors. The manager came back to see how everything was. Janay, the manager did a phenomenal job at managing the situation. The Rockwall roll is sweet with coconut shrimp wrapped, topped with spicy crab mix and coconut sauce. It's delicious! The atmosphere is very nice and intimate. Darker in the dining room with table lamps. You're not looking around the room at everyone, but more focused on just your party. I will definitely be returning to Basil Cafe more often! Overall, the food was solid with a few standout items. The spicy tuna roll was excellent -- fresh, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal. The ramen was also quite good and comforting. The hibachi steak, however, was a bit of a surprise. The steak was cooked exactly to the temperature I requested, but it (along with the vegetables) arrived slightly cold, which took away from the experience. The fried rice also lacked a bit of seasoning and could have used a little more flavor. While this wasn't a bad dining experience by any means, I'm still on the search for that standout spot in the area that truly checks all the boxes. That said, there are definitely some dishes here worth coming back for.
