Miss Helen was amazing! This was our first time here, and we had a lovely service! We came for happy hour on a weekday. Our group got crab rangoons and spicy edamame to start! Their spicy edamame packs a punch!! For rolls, we got spider roll, spicy salmon roll, and shrimp crunch roll. It was all delicious. Our favorite was the spider roll! For drinks, I got an Asahi, while my friends got some cocktails--they said the drinks hit the spot! The vibe was very friendly and open! Thank you to Miss Helen for taking care of us!

Sushi was delicious! Three rolls was a bit on the smaller side for two people. The ramen was soooo good. Will be back again!

The food, the service and the ambiance was ALL amazing. And our poor waitress lol we did make sure we stacked up our plates and trash for her cause my grand baby was all over the place can't wait to go back. It was amazing sushi.

Food was absolutely amazing as the service Gavin gave us! He was so a great support on my items I wanted to try. He explained everything I asked about. He was so attentive and friendly. I went with hubby and a friend for happy hour. Gavin made sure we had water and drinks throughout our visit. Just FYI - happy hour is the way to go. This place is amazing and the private seating is a HUGE PLUS. I enjoyed the company of friends and feeling my area was ours alone. It's quiet and STAYS busy - 3pm/6pm happy hour and we stayed the entire time. Sharing an updated menu for you guys! Go and enjoy! FRIENDLY PEOPLE here!

    Miso and salad included!!!

Matthew's service was the best!!! Give the man a raise! Thanks for the wonderful time! Also, the sushi chefs behind the bar are awesome and made cute bears out of oranges for the kids!!! Much appreciated yall!

First, I got the miso soup, looking at the picture it was shown with noodles, fish cakes, and boiled eggs. this is what I got (picture below). I can't fully rate it because I never went in. I got takeout, but the person who left it was very nice and quiet. My dogs didn't even bark when she left it on the porch. it was nice that they serve Ramuné but that was the only good thing about this meal, the miso soup I couldn't even call a soup. It was more like a tasting dish. There was hardly anything. even though I'm a huge fan of Japanese culture, manga, and food. This was flat out, disappointing.

It was my first time trying this place and I got it with Uber Eats. Because it was my first order, I got a $25 promo code too. The packaging was organized and intuitive. There were different containers for sauces - the orange dip for egg rolls, the yellowish sauce for salad, etc. I wish these were labeled with names, but for now I will call them the orange and yellow. The sashimi and sushi bento (on the lunch menu) comes with salad, edamame, miso soup, California rolls, egg rolls, and sashimi. Everything was fresh and as a sushi lover, it was amazing! I enjoyed all the food and finished all of it (besides the ginger-it was too spicy for me). The edamame can use more salt. The shinso leaves are under the sashimi and nigiri. It was my first time eating shinso-my Japanese friend told me about it and how it was bitter so a lot of kids don't like it. It wasn't really bitter-more on the minty side! It was very filling! I ate most of it for lunch and then the rest for lunner (lunch dinner). I would love to try more food here next time!!

Pros: Great service. App sampler fantastic. Such a great start and only $5 for a large hot sake!!! Started off so good! Cons: The sushi :( it all tasted the same... And almost no flavor except the roll with the wasabi sauce. Plus, they were all rolled so loose they were falling apart. So disappointed. I don't even know how to explain.... Check my profile... Queen of positive. This was bland and loosely rolled. Exaxt opposite of what you want.

This is my 4th or 5th time coming here during truck driving and I am always excited to come here. The sushi and sashimi combo that I displayed was delicious and fresh.

This location is right off of I-30 & tucked in the corner of a shopping/dining center, so be careful once you exit because you can easily drive past where you turn in. The inside has a mysterious air about it...idk how to describe it. It's almost like the embodiment of an Aquarius in restaurant form? Idk LOL. It has a bar and plenty of group seating for those who want to be social, but there is also solitary booth(s) where you can sit if you want to be to yourself. The decor is modern but still very traditional to Asian culture & the staff though very welcoming and accommodating, also have a detached and unemotional aspect about them. Idk. It's a living breathing contradiction much like Aquarians lol. You will have to come here to know what I mean. Anyway this is the 3rd or 4th time I've eaten here & I can confirm they are consistent with what is made. The sushi is always made fresh to order. The calamari is always crispy & the portion sizes are always the same. If you want bang for your buck definitely dine in during their happy hour, which starts at 3pm. Today my server was Skylar & she was excellent. I strongly recommend: cajun salmon nigiri, the calamari, lychee martini, and the bento box...but w/chicken or beef. I also loved the flavor of the sashimi. My only ick is that the slices of fish are too thick to me. I'm not sure if you can request thinner slices of meat, if so I could see myself ordering that every time..but it's still worth a try if you like raw fish. The miso soup I ordered today was a bit on the sweeter side (which I'm not used to), but it's still a great starter to order & warm you during the colder months. When it comes to the food I could easily rate them a 5/5. The only thing holding them back is that they always have gnats flying around, so you either have to eat a bit fast or spend your time swatting the air to keep them away.

I started with the garlic edamame, Kani salad, and gyoza. The gyoza are pan fried perfectly! Some places fry them too hard or deep fry them. The kani salad is a mix of shredded cucumber, spicy crab mix with spicy mayo, and roe. I ordered the Angry Dragon roll and the Rockwall roll. The Rockwall roll is sweet with coconut shrimp wrapped, topped with spicy crab mix and coconut sauce. It's delicious! The atmosphere is very nice and intimate. Darker in the dining room with table lamps. You're not looking around the room at everyone, but more focused on just your party. I will definitely be returning to Basil Cafe more often! Overall, the food was solid with a few standout items. The spicy tuna roll was excellent -- fresh, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal. The ramen was also quite good and comforting. The hibachi steak, however, was a bit of a surprise. The steak was cooked exactly to the temperature I requested, but it (along with the vegetables) arrived slightly cold, which took away from the experience. The fried rice also lacked a bit of seasoning and could have used a little more flavor. While this wasn't a bad dining experience by any means, I'm still on the search for that standout spot in the area that truly checks all the boxes. That said, there are definitely some dishes here worth coming back for.
