Miss Helen was amazing! This was our first time here, and we had a lovely service! We came for happy hour on a weekday. Our group got crab rangoons and spicy edamame to start! I went with hubby and a friend for happy hour. Gavin made sure we had water and drinks throughout our visit. Just FYI - happy hour is the way to go. We have come here several times now and enjoy their lunch on Sundays after church. It's not as busy as dinner might be, so we get seated right away. I always go for the Scottish Salmon Bento Box. It comes with salmon on a bed of either white or fried rice (extra), a yummy salad with a sweet dressing, steamed edamame (soy bean sprouts), 4 pieces of sushi and 2 egg rolls. It is so much food that I need to take some home for snack or share with the hubby. My husband likes getting a hibachi steak. Your meal also comes with soup. We always get the miso. It was my first time trying this place and I got it with Uber Eats. Because it was my first order, I got a $25 promo code too. The packaging was organized and intuitive. There were different containers for sauces - the orange dip for egg rolls, the yellowish sauce for salad, etc. I wish these were labeled with names, but for now I will call them the orange and yellow. The sashimi and sushi bento (on the lunch menu) comes with salad, edamame, miso soup, California rolls, egg rolls, and sashimi. Everything was fresh and as a sushi lover, it was amazing! I enjoyed all the food and finished all of it (besides the ginger-it was too spicy for me). The edamame can use more salt. The shinso leaves are under the sashimi and nigiri. It was my first time eating shinso-my Japanese friend told me about it and how it was bitter so a lot of kids don't like it. It wasn't really bitter-more on the minty side! It was very filling! The food is always outstanding, and the bar staff (Mark and Michael) along with the rest of the waitstaff are awesome -- always friendly, helpful, and on point. The music is great too, but I do miss the country tunes! Rockwall is a small town, and just about every restaurant here plays country music. Please consider bringing back some country variety to your playlist -- it would make the atmosphere perfect! read more

The calamari is always crispy & the portion sizes are always the same. If you want bang for your buck definitely dine in during their happy hour, which starts at 3pm. Today my server was Skylar & she was excellent. I strongly recommend: cajun salmon nigiri, the calamari, lychee martini, and the bento box...but w/chicken or beef. I also loved the flavor of the sashimi. My only ick is that the slices of fish are too thick to me. I'm not sure if you can request thinner slices of meat, if so I could see myself ordering that every time..but it's still worth a try if you like raw fish. The miso soup I ordered today was a bit on the sweeter side (which I'm not used to), but it's still a great starter to order & warm you during the colder months. When it comes to the food I could easily rate them a 5/5. The sweetest lady we came for my sisters bday and she made her feel so special and was super sweet regarding all the kids we had lol . And food was great as always . I mean it was okay, the food wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad -- it's a basic level that you would expect. The ambience is good and it has great potential (I love the seating for people who come by themselves). The thing that lacks is the service, I have experience as a server myself and honestly I did not feel that the service was up to par with the restaurant. It was more like I just had an order taker than a server, I don't expect to be treated like royalty but I at least want an experience. Best part of my whole meal would literally only be the wine I got though... I asked for wasabi but got ginger instead... they sound nothing alike, I also asked for lemons for my water but just got water. This place really caught me off guard. The floor plan is so well thought out with how they have all of the different seating. Then decor really makes for a high end experience. Also food not only taste great but presented very well too. It was my husband's and I first time coming here and have herd such of a rave about the place that we may have went a little overboard lol. My favorite was the Baked Salmon Roll, of course we always get the Spider Rolls, the Roll that looks like it has popcorn chicken actually had crab meat on top of the rolls(those were to die for as well lol). I couldn't even tell you the other three cause I can't remember the names of them but they were really good as well. I've never had such of a great Ginger salad before, I couldn't get over just how fresh it tasted. I'm really impressed with this restaurant! It's way better then Kyoto, not all of the constant "Happy Birthday" songs and they run the AC here lol. I ordered dinner from Edo tonight after having surgery this week (can't cook right now). Two hibachi Filet dinners, one with fried rice and one with steamed rice. The total came to $71 without DoorDash fees/tips. It arrived without soup, with only one salad, and the vegetables were almost nonexistent (pretty much only onions and mushrooms). The noodles tasted like pure salt and were inedible (I suppose they were doused in soy sauce?). The rice had a plastic taste to it. Basically the only thing that was edible was the steak and I'm fairly certain it was not a filet cut but by this point why should I be surprised. Never again. I'll stick to Kyoto! read more

We ordered Edo take out last night for the first time as it was highly recommended by many. Sushi is always better when dining in, but this just wasn't an option for us last night. Although the flavor was really good, I was disappointed in the presentation when I opened the bag. The rolls appeared crammed into the containers and smashed down by the tops making for a messy presentation. I would love to try them when we have a chance to dine in, but perhaps they could work on to go containers that fit the rolls without smashing them and creating a mess. read more

We popped in for some sushi. It was around 5pm on a Sat night. They have Happy Hour from 3p-6pm with 1/2 priced appetizers and from 4p-7pm for drinks, every DAY, even on weekends. We absolutely love their crab tower. Served with wonton chips, it's a combo of crabmeat, topped with eel sauce and avocados. It's delicious for a appetizer. I ordered some sushi and steamed rice for dinner. My husband had chicken fried rice. The sushi takes awhile because there are only 2 chefs making them fresh to order. The food is always great. I am enjoying trying all the sushi roll options and am surprised at how much I love them all. I got the Edo 101 roll and it was delicious. The little eggs on top make it fun and interesting. I like how they explode when you bite down on one. Kind of like Pop Rocks. The quality of the sushi met our expectations, our waitress was friendly and amazing, and the ambiance is relaxing. I got the Salmon and steak combination hibachi and asked that my steak be medium rare. It was past WELL DONE and my salmon was far over cooked. My wife got the chicken and shrimp combination her chicken was dry and the shrimp had seen better days. We asked for soups only no salad and yet we still got salad and the soup wasn't closed and leaked on my wife. Ultimately my wife ended up throwing her meal away. There is nothing worse than paying for food that you don't like. Like most hibachi this place is pricey but the quality and the price didn't match. MALL QUALITY WITH UPPER END HIBACHI PRICE. If you enjoy hibachi do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. If you do go here I do hope that you have a much better experience. Well it's been 6 years since I've been here and thought I'd give it another try. It was disappointing once again and this time I can say I'll never be back. With the COVID-19 restrictions, restaurants are now allowed to have 50 percent capacity. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the large number of parties crowded in the small waiting area waiting to be seated. Other Rockwall restaurants make you wait outside until they have a table available. Next I notice every single seat at the bar is filled with customers squeezed in sitting shoulder to shoulder. I guess there's no such thing as social distancing at this establishment. When my husband asked the hostess about it, her response was, "I don't control the bar". Every restaurant I've been to during the pandemic has had their bar seating removed. I guess they're wanting to make up for lost revenue at all costs? The final straw was when we were handed a pager to be alerted when our table was ready. I asked, y'all are giving out pagers?? Do you sanitize them? They said they did - at the end of the evening when they close!! This restaurant was packed and we got the feeling they weren't taking this whole pandemic thing seriously so feeling uncomfortable with the whole scene, we decided to hand back the pager and drive across town for dinner. read more

Today I got 4 pieces of steak in my fried rice, this is the 2nd time they have screwed me on the meats . 1 time was chicken fried rice an 2 times steak.
