House Miso Ramen
Shianne C.

This place was alright, but overall not worth the money. The servers were super nice but the food was expensive for the portions and did not taste as good as some other places in the rockwall/wylie area (which are also cheaper). I got the house miso ramen and the egg was overdone- closer to hard boiled than soft boiled and the chatsu was a bit dry and overdone. The beef yaki udon was expensive for having pretty cheap cuts of beef in it which was also overdone. When we got our appetizer we were not given plates so we each had to just hold it the whole time we were eating it (there were 4 of us).

Rainbow roll, fried rice side, spicy miso ramen

Easy parking. Went in on a Saturday about 530pm and it was busy but they managed it well and sat right away. It took a lil bit for our server to come over so we knew our whole order when he did come over. We started with gyoza which has pork inside and it was fabulous but they don't serve it with enough sauce so ask for more. I have to say the cut of chicken katsu is lean and delish absolutely the best I've ever had.... Our ramen wasn't our fave it was tonkan or something like that with pork and egg , we'll be back to try others though. It's a very nice restaurant inside. Nice dish wear , thick napkins. Love this place overall.

Spicy garlic edamame

Sushi was absolutely delicious! The salmon was incredibly fresh and literally melted in my mouth. The sweet tea could use a little improvement, but since they're still in their soft opening, I'll definitely give them a pass because the food was more than worth it. The service was amazing--our server was attentive, friendly, and quick throughout the meal. The restaurant itself has the perfect vibe and is very clean and welcoming. I can't wait to come back and see how they continue to grow!

Takoyaki

The food here was overall meh.. We ordered takoyaki, miso soup, and a California roll to start The miso soup was really good and had flavor. The takoyaki nothing really stood out it had some flavor but not much it was very much meh. But I do wish they had it in a 3 piece not just 5 piece. The California roll is very comparable to what you can get at a grocery store and not at a sushi restaurant. I would have liked it better if they did the crab meat mixed with mayo. Instead of just crab sticks. The sushi rice was well seasoned though. For our entrees we ordered tonkosu ramen and we tried to order the Teriyaki salmon bento box but didn't realize it was a weekday lunch only (it's located at the top of the page next to the sushi bar stuff so it was very confusing) since the server told us no she instead recommended we order the chicken teriyaki (which was also confusing because it sounded like they didn't do the salmon teriyaki) so we ordered the chicken teriyaki because we thought it is what they had and would be similar in price. The Tonkosu Ramen honestly was not that good the broth tasted a little off to me. The Chashu pork was way too thick and was not tender enough. The egg though was really good and was the highlight of the ramen. The teriyaki chicken was good it's really hard to mess up something that easy to make but it cost almost $19. The salad it came with was not good you could only taste the lettuce the sauce had no flavor. The location on maps takes you to an empty field you are better putting in directions to the Starwood cafe. Walking in the outside is filled with AI generated food images same with the menu. Inside is nice looking we got sat down pretty fast. The server was really nice and the wait time for our food didn't take long. At the end we did have to wait a bit for the server to come back to ask for the check and a to go box.

Seaweed salad(so good)

First thing first they don't have their liquor license but you can byob. We went about 3:30 on Saturday and only a few people there. Not a lot of servers but we were helped in good time. It's very cute in the inside and nice sushi bar set up. We only had the sushi and it was really good. They don't rush you either which was nice. They have a pretty decent size menu so if you don't like sushi you can find other stuff. This is for sure a good sushi spot to try.

Sweetheart roll and sexy mama roll

First time trying Koishi and I'm pleasantly surprised. At first glance, the lighting and decor is appealing to the eye but I was super curious about the food. My husband and I ordered the sexy mama roll and the sweetheart roll, and they definitely surpassed our expectations. Presentation was 10/10 and execution was 10/10. Definitely recommend!

If you're ever in the Rockwall area, you need to stop in for lunch or dinner at Ramen Head on the…read moreRockwall Square. They specialize in their signature ramen bowls, handcrafted noodles, savory bao and dumplings. On my last visit, I tried the Wontonamen Ramen. They start with your favorite broth followed by handcrafted noodles, marinated egg, bamboo shoots, scallions, nori and naruto. Then it is topped with your choice of wonton. This is quality comfort food at its finest. Ramen head offers a wait list which is a good option on the weekend. If this is your first time the servers are very friendly and helpful with recommendations. The interior is modern and clean and the noise level is moderate. It is easy to have a conversation. The front of the restaurant can get chilly in the winter so dress warm or sit back away from the entry.

Because of this, the only ramen I could try was the vegetable ramen, which was okay... The dumplings were somehow a little undercooked while falling apart, and the broth needed vigorous seasoning. Definitely not the worst ramen I've had but by far not the best, either. The Tokyo hot deviled eggs were pretty good, but they were out of everything else I wanted to order so my review is stuck to what I could try.

My shoyu ramen was very good, wonderful broth, great noodles and bamboo shoots, and a very flavorful soft boiled egg. The chashu was fairly small, but it was still a great bowl. My partner's tonkotsu was not as good as the shoyu. Nothing stood out as bad, but the broth was weak and the fungus was mediocre. It did have a very generous amount of chashu. The service was great and the atmosphere was impeccable. I will likely return.

We were seated quickly, and our waters were brought out right away. However, the menu here is different from the other locations I've been to, so I recommend checking it before you come if you're expecting specific dishes. They were also out of some of their noodles. We placed our order, and the karaage salad arrived first within about 10 minutes. Sadly, the ramen came out almost 30 minutes later and wasn't plated cleanly. There was broth all over the edge of the bowl, and I even think the server's finger was in the broth when she dropped it off. Additionally, the ramen was missing the egg, and the noodles were overcooked. One of the waitstaff seemed to be the only one actually working, as he was helping about 95% of the customers in the restaurant. Overall, I highly doubt I will be returning to this location anytime soon.
