I started with four stars but It's probably only three. That said, I did enjoy my chicken bowl. I do wish it had been a little more food. My dining companions were less enthusiastic about their meal. The place is super cute with a few small and bigger tables for guests with great decor and house music playing on the background. The service was really great. The food is VERY rich and full of flavor. My mom brought me here on a lunch date so I really wasn't sure what to expect. I got the black garlic ramen and the deviled eggs. Keep in mind that these are not your traditional deviled eggs so keep an open mind when you try them. The broth to my ramen was so rich and not at all what I was expecting. Pretty yummy! From my research they make their own sauces and pasta and serve sodas from local breweries. Me and my girlfriend eat here a lot. We usually have no problems, and the food tastes great; But Yesterday was an anomaly. We got there at 5:25, 5 minutes before open, and we were the second people to get into the store when it opened. We said that we wanted to make a to-go order, so they let us know that someone would be with us shortly. After 5 minutes of the shop opening there were already about 7 tables seated. Even though we were the second people in the shop we ended up being like the 5th to order. It wasn't a big deal, and we didn't really care that we weren't the second people to get our order in. After we placed our order the restaurant quickly filled to the max and those first 7 tables got their food. We were sitting there for 20 minutes still waiting for food and then we got our hopes up when a black plastic bag of food was being taken from the kitchen. Turns out it was a DoorDash order and not our to-go order. This was the point where I started to question why weren't being prioritized at all as customers. We ended up waiting 37 minutes for us to get food, the full restaurant got all of their orders before us as well as 3 DoorDash orders that went out. When we were given our food there was not even a apology to for us having to wait so long or even that we were the last people to get our order even though we had been there the longest. An apology would have gone a long way. We got our order to-go so that we could eat some hot ramen for a picnic, so we specifically asked for them to make the broth extra hot in the to-go containers for us. Well we got to the park and the broth was barely warm. Very disappointed because it only took 5 minutes to get to the park and if they had made it extra hot like we requested it would have stayed hot for close to 30 minutes. Join the waitlist on their website. It's probably going to be a long wait, but it's well worth it. We were seated at a table in the back and when I caught a whiff of the kitchen I knew something good was about to come our way. We ordered the RH pancake first. What a heavy hitter. We just kept saying "wow this is good" "this is like...really good". Each ingredient had so much flavor packed in. Usually the scallion pancake is more bland at other places but this one just rocketed. The pickled onions and braised pork were crunchy and juicy. Everything on this pancakes blended so well, do your self a favor and get the pancake. Also the sauce on it was incredible. Next we had the chicken katsu and the pork katsu. I really liked how the meat came in diced pieces so that you could get a little with each bite of rice, vs the usual way katsu is served with larger cuts. Again, the pickled onions were such a star. Now, if you are trying to pick between getting either the chicken or pork katsu, you are going to want the pork. The chicken was on the drier side and the pork was ultra juicy - but this is to be expected when frying these types of meats. The chicken was still good, but the entire bowl could have used more sauce which would have also helped with the dryness. (But again, delicious). I'm usually not a fan of ramen, but with everything else we tried being this good I'll be back to try the ramen. Suggestions to the business: -Either more sauce on the katsu dishes or sell the house sauce as a side. We would have ordered more to add with our rice. read more
