Simple place but very clean and the food is excellent. Although it is geared mostly for to go Orders, the place is nice inside. The chicken plate I had was just the right amount of spicy and made fresh. The price is very reasonable. I will be back. read more

This place is cheap but still good. Definitely the perfect thing if you want to eat more than fast food but don't want to sit down at a restaurant. It's so easy to place a to-go order and get it within 10-20 minutes. You get chicken/pork/veggie entrees for $6.45 or beef/shrimp/mixed meat for $7.39. They have a drive thru so place your order online and pick up without having to go inside. They use the same white cheap styrofoam to go containers for everything that you normally get at restaurants. So if you get an entree, they fill the largest section (front half) with your entree and give two scoops of your choice of white or fried rice in those sections for the sides in the back half of the container. The white rice is a 100 times better than the brown rice, pretty sure they just mix white rice with soy sauce in a pan and call it a day for their brown rice. Basically I don't want any rice and would much rather have the entire container filled with my entree item because it feels like I'm getting ripped off this way with getting all the rice. The most worth it menu options that give you the most for your money are their fried rices and noodles, they fill the entire container and don't give you any scoops of rice. The shrimp fried rice and spicy chicken Lo-Mein are the BEST. As for the entrees they give with the two scoops of rice, the Sesame chicken is sweet and the General Tso is sweet and spicy- I like both! Another family favorite is Kung Pao Chicken because it also comes with a ton of crunchy vegetables and savoury sauce. If their dumplings are on sale GET IT. Only $2.99 for a small container of fried or steamed dumplings with the saltiest soy sauce you'll ever have. The fried biscuits are little fried soft biscuits tossed lightly in sugar. Crab Rangoon was not good, way too much crab. Stay away from their Sweet and Sour Sauce- think synthetic pink. Would definitely come here again, but not because I crave it. This is a, too lazy to cook, but don't want to spend too much kind of mood establishment. read more

This place is near my house, the employees are nice, the food is pretty good, and the price is right. You cant go wrong withis place. I usually just order the Basic Chicken Fried Rice through the drive through. I do wish they had more options, including desserts. read more

I ordered an E10, it didn't even have half of the vegetables advertized in their brochure. Hunan style was supposed to b spicy, so bland, and didn't have half the vegetables advertized on the brochure. If you want, inexpensive, tasteless, food this is the place to go. Lo Mein was gooood. Had them make veggie. Asked if I wanted a side of sauce and went with Sriracha. The steamed dumplings are good too. The soy sauce comes in little clear plastic packets and unfortunately it tastes like straight plastic; make my rice taste like plastic. I was explorIng food on the area after moving day, I thought that it was a very convenient to place my order trough out the drive thru, I ordered 3 meals all different . When I got home I realized how awful the food was, the fried rice is nothing more than steamed rice with a drizzle of soy sauce, all the veggIes were overcook and the meat was salty and gross. Have you ever just gone to a place just because it's so close to you and you're too lazy? Well in this case, rice bowl is 2 mins away from where we live so we said why not? They have a drive thru so it is perfect because it is getting very hot here. I drive up to the drive thru menu and didn't see a speaker so I was taking pictures and looking at what to order. Out of nowhere, the guy was like, "can I help you?" It scared me because I thought I had to drive up more to order lol. Anyways, I got what is popular at any Americanized Chinese places--orange chicken and Mongolian beef that both come with plain fried rice. They had chicken lo mein for $4.99 so I got that as well. So I drive up to the window to pay and the guy working there repeats my order and then I proceeded to wait for about 20 mins in my car with it on of course because I would be sweatin' balls just sitting in my car without the A/C. I guess a good thing is they make it fresh and that's why it takes longer and they are understaffed. So that would be a big problem for people who are on a time crunch. Anyways, finally got our food and took it home. FOOD: You get a lot of food for $6.99. It is good but it can get greasy towards the end. The orange peel chicken was crunchy and good but did not taste like orange chicken. It was more of a soy sauce base than orange. The Mongolian beef was ok, some pieces of the beef were too chewy and I had to spit it out. It got too saucy at the end and too many onions to beef ratio. The fried rice is just plain rice fried in soy sauce so it is brown. It was nothing memorable. The chicken lo mein was huge!! The portion is pretty insane for $4.99. The whole box was filled with noodles. It was alright when it was fresh. I don't think these are lo mein noodles though. They are closer to udon noodles. Chinese leftovers are usually not a good idea and this time was no exception. Lol. It just became super greasy and mushy. No bueno. Would I go back?? Most likely not. I just can't do greasy foods and although yes you do get a lot of food for the price and they make it fresh, I just wasn't a fan. The food is usually great as well as service. But on Fridays and Saturdays, it says they don't close until 10:30 and yet they closed before we got there tonight at 9:40. Why are y'all closing so early if your window with your hours and online it says 10:30pm for Friday-Saturday and Sunday-Thursday at 10pm. I was very disappointed that they closed so early because I was really looking forward to this Chinese meal, and not to mention I'm pregnant so my cravings are pretty intense. Rice Bowl Express has been in this location for several years and we used to enjoy eating here,mostly for carry-out though they also have a dining room (formerly a Dairy Queen). Their prices were reasonable. However, our past several experiences have been unfavorable and yesterday's stop in for take-home lunch solidified our decision to no longer eat at this establishment. We don't see the same "management" that used to work there and the customer service reflects this. Our personal favorites have been the Sesame Chicken and Egg-Drop Soup. Lately, prices have gone up and portions are smaller. We have to repeat our order several times because they keep interrupting to ask questions before we finish our sentences. And no, there is nothing complicated, no substitutions, no omissions when we order - just two people, two sesame chicken, two egg-drop soup and some chicken sticks. Sunday's egg drop soup was tasteless. Don't know if they left out the broth, the seasoning or whatever. Basically, it just tasted like hot water with some egg boiled in it - yuk! The previous time the soup was ordered, it tasted rancid and old. Thinking the corner cutting will lead to their demise as it does not seem as busy as it used to be. Too bad. We will have to drive a bit farther, but there are other decent Chinese take-out in the area. read more

I have been eating here for years and have NEVER had an issue with my order having shrimp in it, which I'm allergic to. I came by to pick up my to-go order and checked it before leaving out of the drive through and found shrimp in it. Now being the second time, I ask them to remake it without shrimp, get my food and head home. You really do get your moneys worth for all the food you receive. I had the combination fried rice but it honestly had no flavor. The chicken and beef, had no flavor. It was literally cooked with no seasoning. I usually go to the one off garland and Jupiter but I decided to try this one since it's closer to my house. I am very particular about my Chinese food. For the last year I have been ordering there regularly and found all meals to be made with fresh ingredients. I usually order the Happy Family made with garlic sauce and it is excellent. You can get it spicy or not. Also, the sesame chicken is very good along with their other dishes.
