Most unappetizing chicken chow mein I have ever received.

I ordered chicken chow mein and they gave me boiled chicken with veggies. No flavor or noodles

Chicken and vegetables with low mien.

When I am in the Rowlett neighborhood, I always pick up some Chef Chen to go. They serve some of the best Chinese in the area. They have great lunch prices and the portions are enough for two servings for me. It's a good size restaurant with booth and table seatings. The staff is friendly and they whip up to go orders very quickly. I love this place.

Very yummy! Service was fast and friendly! The orange chicken is my recommendation, but the beer and broccoli was also very good.

Chef Chen restaurant is in a very convenient location near UPS store and the barber lounge. Lots of tables, and very kind, great service! I ordered a bunch of dishes, the Kung Pao chicken, pepper steak, chow mein and the fried rice. All dishes came out fresh and excellent !! The egg rolls are so good, they were freshly made and very crispy and tasty. The prices are reasonable and everyone who works here is really friendly and sweet ! I would like to return because there's so many different dishes to try !!

Hair.

Terrible never coming back again took a bite of my food and had a long light brown piece of hair in my mouth from the food. I have black hair... they would not refund me unless I took the food back for proof.

Chef Chen. Their takeout business is insane! I am always amazed how much food they are serving out of this restaurant! Eggrolls are good . I get the spicy Szechuan chicken and it lasts me three meals!! I also get a bowl of hot and sour soup and it is pretty tasty.

The interior…read morelighting is fairly dark, but each table has its own dedicated light which keeps the ambiance intact while still letting you see your food clearly. Overall, the food was solid with a few standout items. The spicy tuna roll was excellent -- fresh, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the meal. The ramen was also quite good and comforting. The hibachi steak, however, was a bit of a surprise. The steak was cooked exactly to the temperature I requested, but it (along with the vegetables) arrived slightly cold, which took away from the experience. The fried rice also lacked a bit of seasoning and could have used a little more flavor. While this wasn't a bad dining experience by any means, I'm still on the search for that standout spot in the area that truly checks all the boxes. That said, there are definitely some dishes here worth coming back for.

Small, cute, and intimate spot with excellent service. We felt welcomed right away…read more Ordered a green tea (a little too grassy for my taste), the Crystal shrimp roll, a California roll, and the Japanese chicken ramen. My daughter had the shrimp tempura roll, avocado roll, and same ramen. The Crystal shrimp roll was the star of the meal, definitely the highlight. The California roll was fine but pretty standard. The chicken ramen was on the sweeter side and tasted more like teriyaki chicken and sauce, which isn't the traditional ramen flavor I'm used to (coming from California), so that part just wasn't my favorite. Bill was about $80 after tip, which felt reasonable given the service and portions. Overall, great service and a cozy vibe. I'd come back to try more rolls.
