Visited this restaurant for the first time on Monday ordered the combo Singapore Noodles with Chicken and Shrimp which was so delicious, the best I have ever had, food was cooked and delivered to my table in 5mins normally I don't like chicken breast due to how dry it can be but they did something to it where it was so moist I was totally impressed even after reheating the leftovers later that day. This taste was not the average Chinese flavor you get at other restaurants which to me is kinda bland, it tasted authentic. I boxed up the leftovers and started to walk out, one of the employees ran after me to give me a plastic bag seeing I was struggling with the door trying to balance the food and drink. It speaks volumes to see how attentive they were to their customers. I live in the Firewheel area Garland and was craving it again so went back on Thursday. Definitely worth a drive for me. Ambience is very casual. I totally recommend this restaurant. It's off of FM 544 same parking lot as Kroger's. ...just a side note, I'm a firm believer on reviews. As summer starts to end, I decided to take a half day off and take my monkies to the movies and see George Washington (good movie for history nerds like me). When the movie ended, we decided to try a small Chinese restaurant around the corner. It is located in a big shopping center area with plenty of parking yet the parking spaces are far for someone who has problems moving around. You walk up to the register and place your orders (the restroom are to the right of the registers). The family is not complicated eating Chinese, it's all General Tso and I had the fried rice. The drinks are given to you when you pay and they bring the food to the table. The portions are a good size and let me tell you this food doesn't taste like buffet food. You can taste the freshness of the sauces and my rice was clean and filled with chicken. You have to order the spicy red pepper oil with your meal dont cheat yourself. Three plates $43.27 yet the flavor was awesome and clean. Yeah go see GW and visit this restaurant. read more

We always get the food to go and my husband picks up the food so I'm not sure about the ambiance. They are always very nice and friendly. We get food from there about 1-2 times a week. I would have to give this place a 3.5. Their prices are pretty decent and it being Americanized Chinese it was a decent meal. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, shrimp and broccoli in oyster sauce, and the crab rangoons. We didn't really care for the appetizer but everything else was decent. Disclaimer: I have only ever ordered delivery from Rice Garden and have never dined-in. My wife and I order food regularly from Rice Garden. As far as how it compares to other Chinese food restaurants, I sincerely cannot really tell much difference. However, what I can say about Rice Garden is that they make an effort to deliver good food quickly, fresh, hot, and in quantities that offer a good to great value! Whenever my wife or I have had special requests, Rice Garden has worked to meet the requests and makes us happy with our food orders. We are always pleased with our orders and we know that if we are not, we can feel comfortable complaining, so the staff at Rice Garden has a chance to make things right. And for that we are very happy! My suggestion is that if peruse the menu and don't see what you're looking for, contact the restaurant by phone and ask if they will make your specific dish. Chances are that they will try to accommodate you. And, it may not be a big deal to some but I am very happy that the person who typically takes phone orders at Rice Garden speaks and understands English well. So to Rice Garden, I say: Thank You!! Drastic change since my prior review 8 years ago....but we have been here many times and every single time they have been nice and courteous. The place is clean, the food is good & they are always fast. They haven't screwed up my order and it's always correct. Very pleased with portion size also. I don't give many 5 stars. Ordered Moo Shu chicken and they didn't send Pancakes or plum sauce...you know, the stuff that makes this dish " moo shu." And when I called they said they didn't send them because I ordered fried (vs. steamed) rice. apparently you cannot have both. I went there on Saturday 8/31/2024, I was prompted to to write a review, so here it is. Most of the food was inedible. I got the order to go, so was not able to advise at that time. I ordered the Lemon Chicken, the chicken was way over cooked and like leather. I also got the the Tokyo chicken, again chicken was over breaded and over cooked. This is a really nice neighborhood restaurant. They have a really large menu with lots of great choices. The servings are very large. We found we could probably split an entrée. Seems very clean and nice inside and the staff is friendly. I am really glad to have discovered this because there are not a lot of other quick Asian food choices in the area and this is a good one. We have been looking for a good Asian restaurant...and NOW we have one !! Hot and sour soup spot on! Steamed dumplings very good and their sauce was yummy ... I had the Dragon and phoenix...I asked them to put a little heat to my dish and they did.. It was just the right amount...loved it!! The food was absolutely terrible. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Only reason we ordered here is because Ming Moon was closed. The portions were incredibly small for the price. You get way more food with Ming Moon or even Pho Zone. We ordered the sweet and sour shrimp and they were hard and had a terrible taste. It was almost as if they battered and fried old shrimp they didn't sell in time. The dumplings taste frozen from a bag. The lo mein had a bad oil taste that tainted the whole meal. This place was just okay. I didn't have high expectations because it's just a little place next to Kroger that probably does most of its business in take out. The restaurant was clean, I'll give it that - but the lady at the counter was really surprisingly rude. She didn't greet us or make eye contact, and genuinely seemed miffed that we had the gall to bring our 20 month old to dine with us. (who was really good and just played with chopsticks the whole time) She stiffened up when my husband asked if he could have his egg drop soup prior to our food and brought it over to him in silence. She sort of slid it across the table and it sloshed out a little. She did the same thing when she brought our order - no pleasantries, she just slid our food onto the table and walked away. I've been a server before so I'm always super gracious to those in the service industry and cut them more slack than most, but I was genuinely surprised at this lady's behavior. Hopefully she was just having an off night? The food was pretty good, but my orange chicken had a bit too much breading on it. Way more breading than chicken. Loved the egg drop soup. read more

Not many Chinese restaurants serve chow mien and they do and its great! Ordered here to go a few times and its been consistently good.
