To hit my order perks, I also ordered the Tomato Egg Soup and Crab Rangoons. Egg Drop soup: This was the best part of the order. It was very tasty, arrived still hot, and satisfied the craving I had! Tomato Egg Soup: I had been hoping this would be a tomato broth soup but it was not (the menu didn't have any description). It was a mild broth with egg and tomato chunks. Because of the way the egg was cooked, the smell was awful when I opened the container. Which was a shame because the broth wasn't bad. Unfortunately though, the smell permeated the soup and made it mostly inedible. Crab rangoons: They were ok. I don't really like the flat rangoons and prefer the ones that look like little crowns or bags. The flat ones are way too dry and more dough than filling. This is a typical Chinese family run place in the neighborhood. Because it is near Cityline so they do get good foot traffic. I stopped by this place for a work day lunch takeout. I called ahead so it was ready when I got there. The inside is actually bigger than I thought with some seats. The food is standard, right at $10 for a lunch portion is not too bad. 7/30/22: put an order in online- it looks like GrubHub is the only option for delivery. I'm not too happy about that as today they again delivered to the wrong address. THE BEST!!! Finally found a Chinese place I like here in Texas! I live about 8 miles away and they still deliver on third-party apps and somehow it always arrives piping hot! My favorite thing to get there is their pork fried rice and vegetable egg foo young...super amazing! I like the fact that you can customize your space level on the menu items as well. !!! I ordered the Jalapeño chicken, but it mainly a huge pile of onions (see photos below), I mean I like onions, but not an entire pile of them! On top of that, there was very little chicken in the dish. This is a Shanghai based restaurant that opened about two months ago. They're pretty much located between Fry's and the Dart station in the northeast corner of 75 and George Bush Turnpike. This place is good for a quick lunch with coworkers or a stop-by with friends over the weekend. You can drop by to dine-in or take-out. Service - 4 Service is good - attentive, polite, not too overbearing, and quick. We went for lunch right before noon and ordered two rice dishes off of the lunch specials. Both dishes came out within 2 minutes piping hot. Ambience - 3 A typical quick meal restaurant. Most tables have 4 seats. There are some pictures of dishes on the walls behind the counter but none of the good stuff. There's one TV in the back of the restaurant. There are lots of tables and plenty of seating. However there isn't much space in the area between the entrance and counter. If there are a lot of take-out orders and people stand around in line or are waiting then it can get pretty crowded for a bit but it'll clear up soon because their service is fast. Food - 4 They have two types of cuisine - Shanghai and Asian fusion (mostly Chinese). I've tried their rice dishes and noodle dishes. Rice dishes come with meat + veggies on top of rice. Noodles are either noodle soups or dry noodles. The two rice dishes, on their lunch special menu, that I tried (braised beef over rice, braised pork over rice) were both very good. The noodle soup and dry noodles that I tried were too oily for my taste so I didn't like them much. They also have a large variety of the group ordering style dishes for sharing and bubble tea. They have both Chinese and English on their menus. For those who can't read Chinese, most of their Shanghai foods have the word "Shanghai" in their names. Price - 5 Lunch special prices go from $6.95 to $7.95. The sharing dishes range from $4 to $15. They currently have a special in which they give 10% discount if you check-in on Yelp. read more
