Chicken and beef teriyaki
Kam H.

I'd been eyeing this place for a while and finally took the plunge and stopped today. I should've kept going - I was not impressed. The food was not fresh and was overcooked. The meat comes without the teriyaki sauce and the guy gave me one little container of sauce and looked perplexed when I asked for more. It wasn't disgusting, but I won't go out of my way to return. I'll stick with Koriyaki Asian Grill in Irving for my teriyaki cravings.

This place is a self service, cafeteria style restaurant. We went for a very late lunch here to try their charged-broiled grill entrees, which is their specialty. We ordered chicken teriyaki with white rice and chicken yakisoba. A Japanese dish of sautéed noodles, vegetables and meat, served with thicker Japanese sweetish sauce. The grilled chicken teriyaki and yakisoba were delicious. It's hot and freshly cooked. The place is neat, clean and well lighted. The $ Yelp code is good.

I was here back when the city was on Covid lockdown. The food is delicious as expected from the last time I was here. Customer service was excellent. And the ambiance is relaxing! I definitely enjoyed my lunch and would recommend. 5/5 Oh and not to mention the prices are still the same affordable prices even with the inflation. Come support Teriyaki Sensei!

I came at closing time and food was prepped fast but just wish they included more sauce on the chicken. Some was dry, some was flavorful and the rice was a little sticky but I'd come back and try again because it's a good portion for 1 person - would just ask for extra sauce.

Spicy Chicken Teriyaki. The flavor is very good. However, in "spicy" terms, it's mild.

So glad I found this place, real teriyaki is hard to find in the DFW. Being from Seattle, the teriyaki capital, this place met my standards. So far I've only tried the spicy chicken teriyaki, but it didn't disappoint. The chicken was flavorful as well as the veggies. I've only got my orders to go but the portions have been a good size each time. They are closed on weekends and close at 7 the other days. If you're a teriyaki fan or looking to try something new, I would recommend this.

Honestly, I could eat here every day! I used to live in Seattle, and the only thing I missed was the Teriyaki, not anymore!

Parking: Free parking offered…read more Interior: Clean but a bit tight inside and difficult to move around. Seating was a bit cramped. Had to play a bit of Tetris when the food came out since the table at the bar didn't really have much space. Service: Can be a bit slow and unorganized when it's busy. My wife and I were seated at the bar for about 10 minutes with no service. A couple was then seated next to us. But for some reason, they were provided service first, even though they came after us. Food: No complaints about the food! Ordered a variety of items - check out the pics for reference! Although I kinda wish the Engawa Sushi was seared to give it that melt-in-your-mouth texture. Drinks: Beer paired well with the food! Overall: Definitely worth checking out! Be aware that there might be considerable wait times when it's busy.

Imagine coming in on a Friday night after a long day of work, looking forward to enjoying a nice…read moresushi dinner with your family, elderly parents, and disabled brother -- only to be yelled at with "GET OUT! GET OUT!!" by the older white-haired manager. She assumed I had walked into the reserved area without checking in, even though my husband had already checked in with the host. Meanwhile, the younger black-haired manager kept questioning my husband about whether he had actually checked in. At that point, we were being confronted by TWO managers, while one of them was literally screaming in my ear to "GET OUT." I was extremely upset and asked why I was being yelled at. Eventually, the host came over and explained to the younger manager that my husband had already checked in properly. Of course, neither manager apologized. Great example of Japanese hospitality, right? After we were finally seated in the reserved area and had already ordered appetizers, my 16yo daughter arrived and was stopped at the host stand and questioned about her age. The younger manager then came over and asked who made the reservation and why someone under 16 was included. My husband calmly showed the reservation confirmation, which did not mention any age restriction, but the manager responded with, "NO, you know!!" My husband then spent another 10 minutes at the host stand, and in the end, we were removed from the reserved area and moved to a table outside. To make matters worse, the final bill included additional charges labeled "20% party room" and "18% large party gratuity." Overall, this was some of the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. You are in the hospitality business -- who screams at paying customers this way? Sorry, but there are plenty of other sushi restaurants that actually treat their customers like fellow human beings. SKIP this place and spend your hard-earned money elsewhere!

The hamachi carpaccio and soy garlic edamame had really nice sauces, although my friend thought the actual edamame wasn't cooked as perfectly as some other places cook theirs. The seared salmon roll was also really good, and the spicy tiger roll was good but a little spicier than I expected. Would definitely get again.

The presentation is beautiful! But the food itself was pretty lackluster for the cost. I got a variety set and my bf got the seared salmon set. Admittedly I've been to Aji-Kiji in San Francisco so my standards for boxed sushi omakase level was very high. Aji-Kiji was more elevated from the tiny building room to the food presentation, however the price was great too. Here it felt cheap in a few areas yet the price is the same level as them. The rice isn't the best and by extension, the rolls aren't perfect. I can get over that though, just picky due to the cost. Next, the fish was fishy. It was enough to make me worried if I could get sick. I ended up being fine, but honestly this place is just average sushi made to look better than it is
