Hello, All! I waited before sending this out, until all investigative efforts had been completed. My family and I got food poisoning from Jade Palace Restaurant on Monday, 12/17. We filed a BBB complaint and contacted our local Health Dept. The Health Dept conducted 2 inspections ~ initial one on 12/21 and follow-up on 1/14. All violations noted during the 1st inspection were addressed by the time they went back for the follow-up. Unfortunately, the restaurant did not respond to the BBB complaint after 2 follow-ups. Therefore, their BBB rating is a D+. Proceed with caution! read more

I used to enjoy this place a lot. Now, they seem to have gone downhill in the quality of their food. They have cut the portions down a lot. Rice is often gummy. Their sweet and sour sauce is thin and tasteless. I found some steel wool bits in my rice once. I didn't report it to them thinking it was just a fluke. The last time I ordered food from here, I found a disgusting hair in my entree. Gag. They won't take checks, and they charge a fee if a credit card is used. That leaves cash only unless you want to pay the fee. They charge for delivery nowadays, and the driver expects a tip. read more

Doesn't look like much when you enter, and the food lived up to the image. We ordered the Orange Chicken and also General Tso's Chicken for takeout. I used to go here when I was in high school. Probably been a good 10 years since eating here. Well it was not what I expected. Ordered Orange chicken well it was watery and tasted like fish, was quite disgusting. My girlfriends teriyaki chicken had no teriyaki sauce. Just plain chicken. I'm not normally a Chinese Food fan. I don't hate it like Indian food, but I'm not normally wowed. I was pretty impressed with this place. I got the sweet and sour chicken and an egg roll. They ladies who served us (a group of 4) were very attentive and speedy, if a bit hard to understand (expected for an authentic restaurant). The food was delivered to the table in a few minutes and was absolutely excellent. The "dinner special" prices are $4.95, $2 cheaper than the full dinner portion, $6.95. I figured I wasn't THAT hungry so I got the $4.95 portion. It was gigantic! I don't see how THAT was the small portion, but it was more than enough. The chicken was perfectly cooked and crispy, not greasy and soggy like it normally is at Chinese places. They served an ample amount of sweet and sour sauce and the egg roll was definitely freshly cooked; it was served piping hot and was delicious as well. I actually look forward to going back, something I rarely say about Chinese places. One more thing: they have Coke products instead of Pepsi, an EXTREME rarity for Asian restaurants, and a reason for me to love them. I hate Pepsi products. read more

Ordered delivery, waited an hour called and they said the driver already left. I live practically across the street and it took 20 more mins to arrive. It tasted and looked like it had been sitting there for the entire hour! Then after we ate I looked at the food to put away the left overs and there was bugs and hair! I felt sick to my stomach! Have been ordering delivery from Jade Palace for over a year now and have not had a problem up until now. As per usual I ordered sesame chicken with fried rice which came with free egg rolls. The sesame chicken tasted very old as if it were pre-made and had been sitting around for several days so I drove it back. I asked for a refund (which I didn't expect but figured I'd try) and the translator said the manager claimed it was freshly made even though it was delivered within ten minutes from when I called and placed the order. Long story short I told the workers that they were losing customers over this as the food was that bad and the manager caused a scene and threw the food into the dirty bins in front of me and other customers who were dining in. For $3.99, you get to choose from a dozen different lunch specials. You pick the entree (sesame chicken, pepper steak, kung pao chicken, etc.), pick the starch (steamed rice, fried rice, lo mein), and pick your soup (egg drop or hot and sour). All that food for $3.99!! This is FOR REAL people! My favorite starter is the Cheese Boats. They're like crab rangoons except they are all cheese and no crab. Also, the fried wonton wrappers are shaped like little boats. Kinda cute and very tasty. I love the egg drop soup, which is served with a plate of fried wonton skins. A personal favorite entree of mine is the Pepper Steak. Braised pieces of steak stir-fried with bell peppers and onions. Oh baby. The bell peppers and onions are totally cooked to perfection - sizzling and soft. Yummy. Whether you decide to come in for lunch or dinner, this place is always a super value. It's not much to look at and its located in a strip mall, but appreciate the "mom and pop" quality of this restaurant. She runs the cash register and runs out for deliveries while her husband is in the kitchen, furiously churning out all your favorite Chinese dishes. They work really hard and it shows through their returning regulars. Give them a try and you'll be a regular too! NOTE: For whatever reason, the sign above the restaurant says "J Palace Delight". I have asked them numerous times why the name of the restaurant is Jade Palace yet their sign says J Palace. They haven't given me a reason. Pinch me I think I found a great Chinese place!! This is your hole in the wall kinda place. Great prices and wonderful food!! Every day has a different special.. so that is always a plus! They have an array of different dishes.. so that is a plus too!! Our fav dishes are the seseme chicken and the broccoli chicken.. which has a great crispy coating!! yummy oh..trying not to drool over it!! They do give you a good serving...comes with rice..and a side of veggies..which is usually the broccoli..that was awesome..If you go for the lunch special...you get the soup..egg roll. The service is what you can expect out of places like this.. trying to understand them and the wait period. We never had a problem with them..they are so friendly and always smiling! Been to this place a few times... they do a great job at making my favorite: Orange Chicken. The exterior is crispy and not overly breaded. I love that they only use white meat and there aren't a bunch of gristly bits. Even better than that is a delicious and thick Dumpling sauce (probably Teriyaki) I love it. The dumplings are good but they are merely a vehicle for the sauce IMHO. Today we got sweet and sour chicken. Wife calls back. They said to go ahead keep it and they will send correct order. Driver comes by, delivers food and asked to pickup wrong food. Wife said lady said we didn't have to. We get two phone calls saying they will charge us for the chicken. Driver comes back and we give him what is remaining of the wrong order. Wife was hungry and ate a few pieces while waiting. Why would restaurant want something cooked 3 hrs ago? We had a similar problem on another order a few months ago, daughter didn't get meal. Our first and last time trying Jade Palace. It took almost 2 hours for food to be delivered. The egg rolls were soggy and the chicken was rubbery. So disappointing. Restaurant owners need to understand that people use their hard earned money to buy their food and it should be cooked well, be fresh and delivered on time. I ordered this food for my family and for them to not like it means I have unhappy and hungry kids on top of the 2 hour wait. I mean really, waiting 2 hours and finally eating, but it's crappy food? I thought all delivered Chinese food included hot mustard, so I didn't bother to ask for it. The soup was warm, not hot. Perhaps a manifestation of drive time. Sesame chicken, like most Chinese food, is supposed to be presented in bite-sized chunks. The sesame chicken was comprised of large chicken strips, 3-4 bites worth. You can easily get two or three meals out of one order. The steamed potstickers really good but the chicken lo mein was just so-so. The only complaint I would have is that it took them almost 45 minutes to deliver my food...but I cant really complain cuz I ordered on a Friday night. I've ordered delivery from Jade Palace twice, and both times I thought the food was pretty OK. The good: The food is very fresh tasting, the portions are freaking huge (seriously, two people could easily share one dish) and everything is CHEAP. As an added bonus, they use white meat chicken, so you won't be finding any gristly mystery bits in your Kung Pao. This is a big deal for me, because one bite of nasty unknown meat completely wrecks my appetite and usually I won't be able to eat whatever is left of my meal. The not so good: Both times I ordered, I found the food to be a little bland, as if the sauces they used on the dishes were watered down. This didn't make the dishes inedible by any means, but it was a guessing game of sorts as to what the sauce on my chicken was really supposed to taste like -- Well, this orange chicken kinda tastes like it might possibly have some sort of citrus in it, I guess...maybe... wait, is that orange I'm tasting? yes!... wait... no.... wait, yes!... er, well.. maybe... For the price though, I can doctor up the sauces and have a nice meal (or two. Did I mention the portions are huge?)
